12/12/04 - I know this is over due but time seems to slip away from me. We've had Eve for seven months now and she has certainly made herself at home. She thinks she is the queen of the house. She sleeps on not one but two dog beds stacked on each other and has her own pillow and blankie which she has trained my children into tucking her in each night. Although she did wonderfully in her obedience training we still have a problem with jumping on people. She gets too excited and can't help herself. She has improved though. Eve and Scooter get along great. They play constantly at least until Scooter can't take it anymore (he is 11) and then they just lay next to each other and Scooter licks her. Eve has also been responsible for teaching Scooter how to get in the garbage can and open the cabinet where we keep the dog treats. Both things that have never happened before Eve. We have lost several bags of greenie treats to this Bonnie and Clyde team. I still need to keep Eve contained when we are out she will chew on the windowsills and occasionally have an accident if we leave her loose. She has been a joy to have and gives us plenty of things to laugh about.

6/3/04 - Eve is doing great.  She is comfortable in her new home.  No longer afraid of everything she is actually quite bossy now.  Always looking for someone to play with, she keeps my three kids busy,
especially the boys who thinks Eve is the funniest dog in the world.  Obedience classes are going good.  Healthwise she's put on some weight and other then skin allergies and paralysis to one muscle of her nose she has gotten a clean bill of health from the vet.

5/1/04 - Eve has been adopted.

4/25/04 - Eve continues to thrive.  We've discovered that she is quite the pushy little when it comes to attention.  She will just keep bugging you till you stop everything and pay attention to her.  She is getting along well with our dog they even play together although Scooter spends most of his time watching Eve run around.  We have discovered that Eve isn't entirely housebroken.  While she'll almost always go when she's outside she doesn't let you know if she has to go out if she's inside.   Eve is so sweet and loving that we have decided to adopt her ourselves.  My children enjoy her so much and she's so goofy and loving that even non dog lovers fall for her.

4/23/04 - Eve is pending adoption

4/14/04 - Eve is starting to respond to her name.  She is even starting to sit on command.  She continues to be very gentle does startle easily.  She loves attention and now cries if we put her in another room.  Her and Scooter had a slight run in today.  Scooter was letting her know who's boss.  Poor Eve just ran and hid.  Tomorrow we'll take our first car ride together to the Vets.  We'll have her eyes and the cough checked out.  Maybe we'll even get to see how she reacts to cats.

4/11/04 - Eve had a good 2nd day with us.  She is settling in quickly.  She is great with the kids.  She just wants to be petted all the time.  She played ball with my 12 year old for a good half hour.  She's starting to respond to her name but still not consistently.  We're working on basic commands like sit and come.  Eve still gets startled easily and is frightened of many everyday things like
the T.V and the vacuum.  Her left eye is still red and she frequently sounds like she's choking.  We'll have both things checked out at the vets office.  Her and our dog Scooter are starting to get along.  They even sat next to each other without any problems but I'm taking it slow with both of them.  I'm sure she's going to be a great dog with a little training.

4/10/04 - Eve arrived at our home today. She is such a tiny skinny girl. She looks like she could use at least another 10lbs. Although she is a very nervous little girl she appears to love people. She wants all the attention and affection she can get. She didn't like the initial meeting with our dog but after several hours she no longer growled when she saw him. She doesn't appear to have had any kind of training. She hasn't even responded to her name when called. She has been good about going out and doing her business. I'm sure with some love, attention, and a little training she'll be a great dog. She loves being near the kids. Her left eye is very red and does have some drainage coming from it. We'll have that checked this week at the vets.

4/9/04 - I picked up Eve last night...and all i can say is OMG!!!! This girl has CUTE written all over her. She is petite....and i do mean PETITE. Yes, she is a bit skinny, not overly skinny, but she is small. And so sweet. She pulls herself up with her front paws and give sweet little kisses.
She rode nicely in the car last night, wanted to sit in the front seat, but with some coaxing I got her to stay in the back for about 1/2 of the ride :o))
She was just spayed yesterday, so she might not be "herself" yet, but when we got home she met a few of my "little" fur guys, and had no problems with them. When I put her in the crate, she did a little low level growling as my little guys were up by the crate sniffing the new kid, but I said "Eve" knock it off and she stopped. She goes in the crate pretty easily.
She did her business outside, and settled in for the night, NO barking at all. This morning the crate was dry, and out she went, did her business, and back she came.
Her eyes appear a bit red, but the foster home's vet will look at them and see if all is ok.
The shelter listed her as 2, but I think she is younger then that. She looks like she already had a litter. With some fattening up, this girl is going to be tough to give up.
