Pertinent Information 2/29/04 - Just to let you know Signe is doing fine. She is a true member of the family. 8/5/03 - Signe is doing well. She is well behaved, had few medical problems, but all is good now. She has never been in a crate, since she has been here. She loves to play w/ my in-laws dog. Very hard to tell she is six years old. 5/19/03 - Well it has been an interesting first month with Signe. She is a great dog. She is great with the kids. Only 2 accidents in the house. She had to have minor same day surgery. She had a mole on the left side and the Vet thought it was best to remove it. Had some small complications after surgery, but all seems good know. She gets along great with the kids, tolerates the little 2 year old playing dress up with her real well (I have pics, but do not know how to download it to BAR). My son who is in the wheel chair really gets some good loving from Signe. He loves to feed her Scooby snacks. Well as you can see all is well. See ya ' next month. 4/20/03 - From Signe's Forever Family - Well a
very good first night. Signe slept in Kristyn's bed all night. Took her
out in the am and then she ended up in our bed. She is a big mush. Gregory
just adores her. He fell asleep petting her on the couch. Well all is
great and we get to take her shopping today. Thank you for the match. 4/19/03 - Signe has been adopted. 4/14/03 - We've been around animals......especially dogs.....for more years than we would probably like to admit. I can't count how many times I've heard sayings like these: "Puppies are cute.....but they're so much work!" (Which they are) "I want a trained dog.....a housebroken dog.....friendly dog....a dog that likes adults....a dog that likes children.....a dog that comes when called.......a dog that walks well on a leash....a dog that is crate-trained....a dog that loves to ride in the car.......a dog you can take to a little league game".....and so on and so on. Well here she is!!! Her names is SIGNE!!! We can't believe she's still here with us. The only reason I can think of...off hand...is her age...which is six. Listen folks!! That's only MIDDLE AGE!! How old are you?? Ain't none of us getting out of this alive anyway! So how 'bout giving Signe a wonderful FOREVER HOME?? If you snooze...you loose on this one!! 4/11/03 - Well it's hard to believe.....but our gorgeous girl Signe is still with us! We really thought she'd have her Forever Home by now. Actually.......Signe is so much fun.....we don't mind how long she stays! If no one grabs her up.....we'll be taking her to the Boxer EXPO Meet and Greet in Derby,Connecticut on Saturday, April 19th. Check out all the info and the exact address on our Boxer Angels website. 4/6/03 - Just a quick update on Signe from Boxer Mountain. She actually ENJOYS having her nails trimmed! She loves playing outdoors with the rest of our crew. Signe RUNS LIKE THE WIND!! She's the only one who can keep up with and catch Carlie our Dobie. SIGNE IS JUST THE PERFECT BOXER GIRL!!! Really nothing else to say! 4/5/03 - Well Signe had her "Child Testing" done over the last two days. We had two of our grandsons here......one is 5 and one is 13....and Signe just loved them! She hasn't done anything bad in the cat department....but she seems way too interested......so we would give her a NO on cat interaction. Except for eating her breakfast and dinner........Signe has the freedom of the house now. She's doing just wonderful indoors and outdoors with our whole crew of seven. We didn't think she did but Signe knows all the commands.....sit, come, etc. We have lot's of toy bones and marrow bones around the house and she really likes chewing on them but she will give them up freely to us or to the other dogs. Signe is NOT DOMINANT at all....she is quite SUBMISSIVE. It's a good thing she doesn't have a full-size tail 'cause that thing is always going!! She is always sooo happy! We're trying to put some weight on Signe.....but she's not too thrilled with her dry food. We give her a can of Canidae mixed with the Canidae dry food twice a day and she gobbles up the canned food but leaves much of the dry. Nancy....Sabre's Foster Mom....gave us her 'SECRET RECIPE' that she used to build Sabre up and we'll try that tonight. We have yet to hear Signe bark. But we're sure she'll find her little voice when she get's to her Forever Home! We think Signe spent quite a bit of time outdoors because it seems the heat in the house makes her very hot and she pants a lot. Signe is such a SNUGGLE BUG!! And she just wants to be close to us all the time. So for the folks who adopt Signe.....get ready 'cause she has lot's of love to give. We feel Signe would make a wonderful ONLY DOG.......SECOND DOG.....or THIRD DOG!!!!! She get's along with everybody. P.S. SIGNE IS HOUSEBROKEN!!!! YEAH SIGNE!!!! BUT WHEN SHE GOES TO THE DOOR TO TELL YOU SHE NEEDS TO GO......SHE REALLY NEEDS TO GO!!!!!! 4/3/03 - Signe has been just great! Yesterday we introduced her to our whole crew and had a slight problem with our Anna who wanted to do her dominant thing. So far, we don't think Signe has a mean bone in her body. Anyway....we introduced them again today differently......and it seems to be going fine....even with our doninant girl. We gave Signe the freedom of the house today for a couple hours and she just wants to sit quietly next to you and give BOXER KISSES! She listens very well to commands when she's free in the house. She's happy to be up on the couch with you and give you hugs and be your BEST FRIEND!! Signe is just sooo pretty!! When you first see Signe close-up.....you might think she needs a bath. The parts of her body where she doesn't have much fur tend to be dark-skinned. Our Vet said that probably is the result of a skin disorder she had when she was very young. She is perfectly fine now and healthy. Just that her skin will be this darker shade for the remainder of her life. Signe is a nice low-key friendly Boxer Girl. We're going to child-test her this weekend and we'll keep you posted as to the outcome. Once again folks....if you're interested in adopting Signe....please don't wait too long. She's a special girl! You just can't help but love her 'cause Signe has so much love to give!!!! 3/31/03 - Another crew member has arrived on Boxer Mountain!! Signe is an owner surrender from southern New Jersey. She made the long trip to get here on Sunday. For the last part of her trip to the Mountain Signe rode in our crate and never made a peep. We took Signe to the Vet today......uncrated........in the car and she just sat on the back seat looking out. She DOES NOT bark at cars or people at all when she's riding. Looks like she'll be a pleasure to travel with! So far Signe has met all of our crew through her crate and we've had no problems. She saw our cat and kinda whined at her...but we'll need more testing on that one. Signe loves her crate!! She must feel very safe and secure in it. She goes in with just a little push but once in there...she is very quiet. She has had no accidents in her crate. Signe is now walking around our fenced in yard by herself. She likes to take little runs.........she's exploring the yard......but comes when she's called. Signe walks very well on leash. There's no pulling or jumping. She doesn't know specific commands but she walks like a little lady. We haven't "child-tested" Signe yet. But that will come this week-end when our Grandson Matthew visits. To be quite honest......Signe DOES NOT look or act like she is six years old! (MUCH YOUNGER!!!) She does need to put on ten pounds so we'll be working on that. We have more evaluating to do with Signe but boy she seems like a FIRST-CLASS BOXER GIRL to us! So don't miss your chance to adopt this little sweetheart. If you like what she looks like in her pictures.....just wait 'til you see her in the flesh! She's got the most adorable little Boxer Girl Face. Get your applications in early. |
