8/6/03 - Sorry my six month update is a little late, Mom and Dad have kept me extremely busy lately. We were having so much fun til last week, these giant clouds rolled in and it has been raining ever since. I am scared to go out and pee in the rain, I just prefer to hold it til Dad drags me out. Mom and Dad are bringing Olive and I to a car show in Connecticut this weekend so I hope the clouds go away soon.
I just got my last dose of flea and tick medication for the summer last week from Dr Santara and Olive came too. He said that I am very healthy, although I am a little heavier than I should be. When I first moved to Maine I weighed about 70 pounds and now I am almost at 80 pounds so Mom and Dad have been bringing me for longer walks but Olive is bad on a leash so we have to walk slow so she can learn. I don't have to go back and see Dr Santara for a couple of months but he said that I can go with Mom and Dad to bring Olive to get fixed in a couple of weeks. Mom is in school again so she isn't home with Olive and I anymore so I baby sit and when we are really good and there are no messes then Mom brings us for ice cream or gives us these huge rawhide bones that are bigger than Olive and it takes us almost all day to eat them. I usually hide mine til the next day in the couch cushions.
We all went swimming a couple of weeks ago, I just watched though, the water scares me. I can't wait til fall comes so Olive will be bigger and can play outside when it is not to hot.
I have to get going to bed now. . .
xoxo Baron*

6/2/03 - Hello everyone. . . Mom told me to write my update early because I have a long week ahead of me. It has almost been five months since I moved to Maine, at first I was a little intimidated by all the snow and when I went out to pee I could see my own breath, why would anyone want to live here??? Now that the snow has gone away Dad brings me in the back yard where we play with Olive but we aren't allowed to go into the woods because there is a marsh and Mom won't let us in the house without a bath if we play in the marsh, she says we smell after. I try my hardest to listen to Mom because I absolutely hate baths, sometimes Mom tries to give me a bath when Dad is at work so I just put my feet on each side of the glass doors until she gives up. It is actually funny to watch!! When Dad comes home and Mom tells him what I did he just gives me a scary look so I run and hide under the bed. I use the bed like my private cave. Only I can play underneath the bed, sometimes Olive tries to go under the bed but I just pull her out by her back legs and chase her into the other room. I enjoy my time by myself and I just don't think she understands that!!

I am a little embarrassed to let you know that I peed in the house the other day. Dad forgot to shut the basement door and I just couldn't hold it anymore. When Mom came downstairs to see what I had done she yelled at me and embarrassed me in front of Olive so while Mom was picking up my pee I just lifted my leg in peed on her and she wasn't happy but she couldn't catch me because I jumped through the backdoor and went in my doggy house in the backyard with Olive. I know it wasn't a very nice thing to do to my Mom and Dad let me know that when he got home. He yelled at me and I went to hide underneath the bed alone to think about what I did but it is so hard to always make it to the backyard to do my business. I am terrified of the rain so I hold it all day until the rain disappears and it is safe to go out. Olive rubs it in my face by running outside to play in the rain so Mom and Dad will make me go out with her so I stay underneath my doggy house. I dug a big whole under the dog house to hide with Olive one day. Mom and Dad weren't impressed with it and we aren't allowed to play unattended in the fenced in yard anymore because Olive taught me how to climb the the fenced but she sprained her leg when she through herself over the top.

Now that I have cleared my mind of the trouble that I have caused in the last month I can tell you about my new vet. I was a little upset that it was a man instead of a woman but all the volunteers are woman so it wasn't that bad. I don't get as much attention as Olive at the vet's office because Olive has a lot of tumurs growing on her so she is going through a lot of testing but I still treat her the same. I went with her for her last visit for support but Mom and Dad said next time I have to stay at home because I am protective of my little sister. Dr Santora said that I am very healthy and handsome too!!! (I am glad that she added the handsome part, I have been getting a lot of grey hair lately and I am a little insecure about it!!)

My Mom has helped me to include a couple of pictures of me playing in the backyard today. It is scary back there though because Mom has lilac bushes that are filled with bugs. I love to chase the bugs!! Mom always stands by with a supply of benadryl because she saw an article online about allergic reactions to bees but I just can't stay away from them. There are bigger things to deal with in the backyard though. . . like the neighbors golden retriever who thinks he is cool because he runs around on his ownersd voice command. I just get to excited when nI am outside so it makes it so hard to listen to Mom and Dad. The neighbors on the otherside have a mini dog. Mom said it is called a pomeranian or something like that. He just yips and yips and yips all day. He came over one night for a BBQ and he was really snobby so Mom and Dad said that we don't have to play with him. I like to chase him and make him hide under things.

I am going to watch Animal Planet now with Mom and Olive.  Good Night Everyone. . . xoxo Baron

5/12/03 - Hi everyone, Baron here!!!! I have been with my mom and dad for four whole months now and everyday it just keeps getting better and better. They are just full of surprises!!! Three weeks ago they brought home a girlfriend for me but I have excepted her to be more like a sister, she's to young for me!! My new sister and I have so much fun running in the back yard and patroling the neighborhood. Dad planned out a trip to the beach today because I really wanted to bring Mom for Mother's Day. We had so much fun digging for treasures and exploring what the what the tide had left behind, I think Mom really appreciated it too!!!

Mom and Dad say the Olive, my new sister, looks up to me alot and it is time to act like a big boy so I have started to improve on my attitude and am also trying my best to brake my bad housebraking habits. I have started by getting over my fear of abandonment and have also learnt to trust, Mom and Dad said that I can't be growling when someone goes near my food with the new baby around. I haven't peed in the house in some time now so Mom and Dad are trusting me a lot more when they leave. They no longer leave the baby gates up that normally keep me out of certin rooms and sometimes when they have to go for longer times than usual they even let me babysit my younger sister and make sure she uses her training pads in the kitchen.

On Wednesday I am making a trip to my new vets office, I had to get a new vet because I didn't really like my last one. I am going in for a regular checkup and to get my flea and tick medication. Wish me good luck because I am really nervous especially when I have to meet new people. I'll have my Mom update everyone with all my results when she finds the time.

4/8/03 - Baron has been with us for three months now and he couldn't have made our little family more complete. The look on his face when we enter our house after a long day is enough to light up our worlds, even our kitten Dubs is
excited to have Baron chase her around our home. Our backyard is almost clear
of snow and Baron is ready to run around after a Maine winter of continuous
storms. Since his last update we haven't made any more visits to the vet. Last
visit the doctor said that Baron was a beautiful boxer and in great health, he
is always a hit with the ladies! Speaking of being a hit with the ladies we have begun our hunt for a girlfriend/playmate for Baron, he is very excited!!! Hopefully we will have a female by this summer so Baron can enjoy the beach and sun with a friend. In this past month Baron hasn't had to much commotion in his life, just eagerly waiting for the sun shine through to spring time. Baron
sends his love to Debbie and dearly misses his foster brothers at her home in
New Jersey, now he is a city boy gone country here in Maine.

3/16/03 - Baron is doing extremely well, Fridays vet check up revealed that Baron has a very weak stomach rather than a virus. The snow is slowly melting away and Baron can't wait to go running on the beach with mom every morning. He has been a little depressed lately so we have decided to adopted him a girlfriend who we will hopefully have by the end of this month so they can play comferably for the coming spring and fall. Spending more and more time at work with dad has really taken up a lot of Baron's time lately which I think he prefers. He loves to watch the door and take on anyone who trys to come in the door without his permission, definetly a power trip!!! Baron is  a daddy's boy!!! Baron has long day ahead of him today so we are going to have to make this short but you'll be hearing from us when we get more pics.

2/5/03 - It's almost been one month since Baron has taken over our new home and we love him more and more everyday!! Overall Baron is the perfect oversized lap dog, he spends most of his days at home with mom where he goes for walks, runs errands, and loves to sit on the leather furniture to guard our house through the window. Occasionally Baron gets to go to work with dad where he gets absolutely filthy doing body work on vehicles, but there is not one night that goes by where Baron hasn't nestled himself in the bed snoaring and drueling all night long! He has a great personality and will do anything to play tug of war. Baron loves to chase our kitten Dubs around the house until he gets her cornered and she can't escape. This evening Baron had his second encounter with a pug, we were scared at first to bring Baron around him but Baron was so gentle with him and they chased eachother around the house for an hour!!! Over this weekend we also had ANOTHER snow storm here in Maine, Baron helped us clear the driveway but he doesn't like the snow at all!! Occasionally he would run to claim his territory to the neighbor's dog but when he sinks through the surface he runs back to the porch and begs to go inside!!!!
It's getting late and Baron has a big day ahead of him tomorrow. Baron sends his love.

1/9/03 - Baron the Bouncy Boxer Boy is off to his new home with his new dad. Dad traveled all last night and stayed in a hotel here and was up bright and early to bring his birthday present back home for his party tonight. Baron was a little nervous at first meeting Jarrod outside the house, but when we all came inside, Baron was all over him. Jarred had love in his voice for Baron the first time we spoke and was just thrilled to death when they met in person. O.K., I didn't cry when he left but driving back to work the tears came down and of course when I got back to the office and everyone said are you o.k., then the tears came again. I was just happy that Ralph was at work when Baron left. You had to see Ralph this morning he kept going over to Baron and giving him hugs and kisses, he even kissed Baron as he was brushing his teeth and got toothpaste on Baron's head. We are all going to miss this boy, but we are very happy that he has found his piece of heaven here on earth.

1/8/03 - It's almost a month since my last update and the only excuse I have is that he's just perfect. He fits in so well with our family we keep forgetting he's a foster dog. I took Baron to the vet for his shot update and even the vet said, what a wonderful boxer he is. He's made comments about all my other fosters but not the way he spoke about Baron and it's true. He is just a great dog. Tonight we went to Petco, kinda our good bye time alone together as Baron the Boxer Boy will be moving on in his life with his new dad. He'll be going home on Thursday and our hearts are already missing him. As we were leaving Petco this couple came in and the girl went straight to Baron. Of course he was doing his little boxer dance and she told him up and started petting him and then she started pulling on his jowls, something I've been doing for some time now. He loved it, here a total stranger pulling on him and he was just eating it up. Oh I love this boxer baby!! We bought extra cookies for him for his ride home tonight and he just loved it. This is one boxer boy that is going to make his new family very happy. We love you Baron!

12/11/02 - Well, well, well,well....my mom is just amazed at how I'm getting along with the other dogs here at the Sunrise Angel Haven. I don't know why she feels that way, it's simple, they play and like me and I feel the same way. Mom has tried to get pictures of us together, but we move to fast for her. The other day she thought I did something that was cute, but I did it just for my convenience. She has this bed under an end table for BJ (he's kinda old) and I didn't want to lay on the floor, so I took the bed from under the table and put it by the radiator. I'm not stupid, I want some comfort. When she jumped up for the camera, I jumped too, so no picture. Now she sees that all the other dogs lie there also, especially Trigger (he's another oldie but goodie). She also put a bed under the table cause BJ likes it there. We have these big balls we play with outside and Axel and I keep trying to bring them in to play with cause we don't like the little ones in the house, but mom keeps bringing them back outside. Why won't she learn? She's getting ready to put up the Christmas tree this weekend and tells me that Santa may be bringing me my very own family soon. I hope she's right, I'd love to be with my very own new family for Christmas, I'd even wear a bow for you! Well, time to take a nap, so I'll send you a boxer kiss and say goodnight, Love, Baron.

/03/02 - Last Friday, my mom went to have lunch with Aunt Nancy and Aunt Karen, on the way she dropped me off at Aunt Tina's. I got introduced to her cats and did very well. She also had a bird there, that I looked at once when it made a noise but after that I got used to it. I got to meet Missy and Dusty and we had play time. I had a nice afternoon but was happy to see mom and go home. Today, I went to see the doctor man....I loved all the girls in his office, they were all over me. At the doctor's I got what they called neutered. I don't know what it really means, but right now, I'm resting comfortably on the couch....I'm dreaming that my new family will come and take me home soon.....don't let me wake up from this dream...make my dream come true....Love, Baron

11/26/02 - Baron the boxer boy has been with us three days and it's been great having him here. To see the change in him is incredible, he's come from being a shy boy to barking, talking and playing in the yard with Axel and Honey. He knows alot of commands, sit, give paw, stay, down, off and if he has to go out he does this little talk and strut. He is a pleasure having around the house. Yesterday, Ralph came home at lunch time and we were in the back yard, Ralph said hello by the gate and Baron charged barking and hair raised. Once he saw it was Ralph, he back down and you could see the I'm sorry look in his eyes...we praised him for being a good watch dog. He heard neighbors in the yard and started barking. I was so happy to hear him bark, he is getting very comfortable here. He enjoys eating his breakfast and dinner and treats. There are times he just goes off by himself and he seems alright with that. Then there are times, he just comes over to me and wants to be hugged and kissed and I've gotten kisses in return. I wouldn't wait long in putting in an application on this boy, he is truly a wonderful boxer and would be great in any home.

11/24/02 - I'm a very happy boy right now as I feel very safe and not threatened by the other dogs in this house. This morning, I got to meet another boxer boy and we played in the yard a bit. A few hours later, I met the rest of the crew 2 more males and 1 female and I did very good. I ate breakfast this morning and finished everything; dinner was also very good. I love to get pets and kisses and am a very quite boy, except a few minutes ago when the door bell rang on TV, I barked and started everyone barking. My foster mom couldn't believe it was me as it was the first time I spoke. I'm looking for my very own home where I can be loved and give love in return. I'm a very handsome, flashy fawn male with cropped ears and a dock tail....I know I'll have many applications on me so hurry don't let me pass away. Baron

11/23/02 - It is with great honor that I announce the new Sunrise Angel Haven and our first guest, Baron.  Baron is a beautiful flashy fawn male (in tact) with cropped ears and docked tail.  He weighs approximately 70 lbs and a little on the shy side.
He slept on the ride up but every once and awhile got up to get some lovin.  No boxer kisses yet but from the waggin of his nub, I expect them soon.  He's a very scared boy of other dogs and actually tried to get between my legs when my gentle giant Trigger tried to sniff him.  He has met all my babies thru a dog pen and inside from a gate.  More to come later.  Just look below to see this wonderful boxer boy!
