8/8/04 - Hey everyone....it has taken me a few days to be able to come here & write these words...my beloved Clinton went to the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday August 3rd, 2004. My beautiful little boy was having problems staying up on his hind legs, he would just fall, his hind quarters would just "droop" down to the floor as he was standing there. He hit the floor very hard so many times, his one hock was swollen from hitting the floor & the ground. My Mother was taken to the hospital on July 9th. She went into the ICU unit immediately and altho' she "rallied" for a week, she lost her battle with her emphysema on July 26th. She never came out of the hospital. Because of my tending to my Mom, her home, her cats & all her responsibilities I was not even able to make an appointment for Mr. Clinton until the day after Mom passed. My Vet was very understanding & supportive as he knew I was also now tending to my Mom's funeral. He kept Clinton for 2 & 1/2 days. They x-ray'd his spine, as there was a possibility that the Lyme's disease he was struck with last May could "have settled into his spine". The inflammation surrounding his spine was "great" so he put Clinton on a IV cortisone. I called the following morning, they said he was worse off then the day before, not able to get himself up from the floor. They tried a different steroid. I picked him up on Friday. Dr. Gibbons showed me his x-rays, he has arthritis(severe) from his 3rd vertebrae...down, most of his spine. They sent me home with Prednisone to help alleviate the swelling around his spine. The medications did absolutely nothing for him...he couldn't stand, walk straight (without "slamming" into walls) he fell down the back porch twice..it was heart-wrenching to watch this very brave boy try to continue on as if nothing afflicted him. NEVER once did he cry out, moan, groan or show any sort of discomfort. I lifted his 85 lb. body into my bed every night, as that is where he slept, from the very first day we got him home, he slept with his Mama Lady. I know he knew something was wrong, as he lost the sparkle in his eyes. I think my little boy just wanted to be here with me thru my own sorrow. He knew his Mama Lady was suffering too. I stayed with him in the Doc's office, held my lips to his head and continually told him how much he was loved and I begged him to wait for me at The Bridge as I will surely be looking for his sweet face when it is my "time". I am lost without him..my boyz miss him dearly too. Bogey keeps sitting by the door waiting for him. We will all wait to see our "Lil Wiggle Butt".

A very short year & 1/2.....but definitely a lifetime of love. Thank you Tina & Gary for bringing us our Clinton, our lives were so blessed.

Debby, Jesse, Scott & Bogey

"Don't let weeds grow around your dreams"

1/10/04 - Well...well...well. I know it has been some time since we last wrote about our lil' wiggle butt Clinton. Time seems to just zip on by. But, I do try. Our Mr. Clinton is THEE bestest baby in the entire world! He is the sweetest, cutest, most lovable bundle of love. He truly was/is a Godsend to us. I know I said it before but it is so true...it is as if he was born into our family. He fits like a beautiful glove. His personality outshines his beautiful lil' gray face even more than one could hope for. Yes, he is a elder gentleman but sometimes you'd be hard-pressed to know that by his non-stop wiggling and enthusiasm. It is VERY apparant that he feels the love of our family & understands...this is how it oughta be! I could not love this boy anymore..he is my "twin", he is never away from my side. Altho' he would prefer if we were siamese twins...:o} I only wish that he had had this love throughout his whole life, as he truly deserves it in return. But, then again, had he had that love..I would not have been priveledged to have him as part of our family. I cannot really fully express the "gift" Clinton has been to us. All the initial "issues" cleared up very quickly. He & my Bogey are best of friends(where it was very iffy at first as Clinton was a bit nasty aggressive..biting & whatnot). His counter surfing & stealing of food stopped within 6 months of him being here. AND...hallelujiah...he proved last week that he now knows knocking over the garbage & strewing it thru Mama Lady's house...is not "his thing" any longer. I left the can on the floor when I went out for an app't &&&&...I came home & it was right where I left it! I was even able to dismantle the crate within 3 months of his being here. He is such a bright & beautiful soul! I tell him every night when he jumps up on my bed to go to sleep...I am SO thankful that we found each other, as I would have missed out on a very important, sweet soul in my life" and he gives me many of those beautiful kisses. I cannot imagine, nor do I want to..life without our Debby, Jesse & Scott Bogey & Clinton

8/12/03 - Hello everyone from Clinton's Forever Family..he is a absolute doll baby! He really has been since the beginning. There were adjustments between him & Bogey (our other baby) but they adjusted quite well to each other. Altho' it has only been since Feburary that Clinton has been with us..it feels like he has been in our hearts forever already! & rightfully so..he is a Godsend to us as well. He is smart, he is very funny in his typical Boxer mannerisms but just with a more reserved & dignified face. No goofy faces for him, well..that is unless you say.."Didyoufalldownandgoboom?" We have nooo idea why that attracts his attention but the hinny goes a mile a minute and he gets all excited. Clinto LOVES LOVES to ride in the car with us! That is another moment when he is just bouncing like a kangaroo! And he is a perfect gentleman when he is out with us as well. Honestly, it feels as if this lil' boy(well, alright..he's 6 already) has been with us forever. No better fit for all of us. Thanks again everyone for coming to see how our Mr. Clinton is doing. Debby, Jesse & Scott Clinton & Bogey

5/16/03 - Hello everyone. Wanted to update Clinton's life with his forever family. He has been very very good inside the house, has a few moments when he forgets he shouldn't be trying to get the garbage off the dining room table...BUT...they are far & few between. He fits with us like a hand in a glove.. a very beautiful glove at that too! Unfortunately, our lil' baby got very sick over Mother's Day weekend, he was in very bad shape. A lot of praying was happening in this house. After 3 days in the hospital, my buddy was diagnosed with Lyme's. He is home under orders of rest, relaxation, as quiet as can be for the next 2 weeks. Meds. for the next month. He is coming along every day, getting stronger. Now to get the weight back on him. I have to say...I really thought we were going to lose this baby....thank God..our prayers were heard. And we have our wiggle butt buddy back home where he belongs! Thanx to all!

4/14/03 - Hello everyone. Wanted to let all my ummmm "fans" know how life in my forever home is...God was shining His face on me when He put the "buzz" in Mama Lady's ear that I would be the right one for them! I know Mama Lady was kinda "stuck" at first with my age thingy....but...she tells me every day that she couldn't have asked for better than me! This is the family I always dreamed about...the family that never stops making my lil' fanny wiggle. We all get along...& yesh..I stopped biting Bogey in the face, Mama Lady says we don't treat each other like that. I have been sooooooo good for them that I don't even have to go in the crate anymore when the family people leave the house...took a little bit of doing for Mama Lady. She does have to do things with like the garbage pail and some kind of hook thing on the doors where all their yummy food is behind...she says..why fight it, eliminate the temptation for me is just easier on all of us. She is really a good Mama. Since the weather is getting nicer, I love being outside with my two boys..we go crazy running & chasing. & I still get excited when they take out them things with the 2 tires on them. I like chasing them when they are on those things! I come in the house so tired & night time...fall fast asleep.sometimes even when I am still standing up! I see that our last progress post somehow made it to my Billy's page...that is alright, now he knows how his Daddy is doing. (Has been corrected!)  Billy...I got a great family, I sure hope you have too. Mama Lady tries to keep a watch on you so she can tell me & I wiggle my butt when she says your name, I still "remember"! Well, it's time for me to go to sleep, it was another exciting day and I am very sleepy. Want to make it to the rug this time before I fall asleep. Hope everyone is happy & healthy.......I sure am! Love, Clinton

3/19/03 - Hello everybody.....sorry this is a few days late..Mama Lady has been real busy around the house..she mumbles something about stinkin' spring cleaning. I follow her EVERYWHERE...she said I certainly don't need to be trained on a leash, I'm always close enuff. I really like this home, it's real comfy and I have made my own "spots"..like the couch in the den :o}...Mama Lady's bed at night when she's sleeping and I share real well with her too! We even let Bogey sleep in there with us...on the rug on the floor HaHa, I get the nice soft bed & Mama Lady! I get along real good with the boys in the house, I like to wake them in the morning with wet kisses..but everyone says my breath stinks..something awful, they say. Mama Lady is using some stuff...junky stuff..blek! She says is will make my breath sweet as sugar. I like when my boys bring those big things with the wheels on them outside in my yard! It's great...we run all over the place.Mama Lady let me out in the front yard with her yesterday (that's a privilege she said) but ummm, I got so excited that I found a way out of the fence...Mama Ladys face was kinda red & she was panting like me when she grabbed me at the neighbor's..she wasn't too happy & now she says I have to be on a leash attached to her side in the front yard. Too much of a temptation for me. But there is lots of running room in the back of the house, so that is o.k. Well, we have to go and do something else now. I just wanted to be sure everyone that looks to see how I am doing knows that it is a great house here. Thanks everyone! And Mama Lady told me about Billy being adopted, she whispered in my ear....I shook my little hinny!

3/8/03 - Hello everyone.....:o} Wanted to let you all know how our Mr. Clinton is doing here with us. He really is a DOLL BABY! I am completely head over heels in love with this boy! I am impressed by his abilities to learn...so quickly! He has made himself at home here, truly...LOL...the livingroom couch "calls" his name. We work on his not answering the call. He listens very well & comes down the first time I look & him with my hands upon my hips & say..."What are you doing up there Mister?" He gets himself up..wiggles his lil' behind and moves on to the floor. Clinton is a "garbage" boy...cannot be trusted when no-one is in the house with him...human no-ones.  I took the boys out for the bus...20 mins. gone, garbage ALL over the dining room! He is also a food thief, again, cannot be trusted with food left out. So we just don't. I even got one of those child-proof latches for my pantry door...just in case! No sense in tempting fate. Clinton is still having "issues" with my bigger dog, there does seem to be a bit of jealousy going on here, with both of them. But, Clinton does "bait" Bogey. He climbs up on my lap, puts both his paws up on my shoulders & waits for Bogey to come over, then he snaps at Bogey's face. I am sure that in time, with the right corrections, this will pass.  For the now, I have to be ever vigilant watching them in the same room with each other. Clinton does seem "ready to attack" quite often. AS I said tho'....in time, he will know it is not acceptable & that it won't be allowed. I give them both tons o' love, scratches, hugs & attention and I try to get my arms around both of them at the same time & tell them what good boys they are. I am trying to let them know that there is plenty of me to go around..always! Oh yesh...*sighs...Clinton decided after all that he really doesn't like the carrots. He is so funny tho', puts them in his mouth & envision someone at a spitoon...ploop..out it goes on the floor. Funny as heck to see! Well...we sure hope all our "friends" out there are doing well...happy , wiggling & being loved to pieces!

3/4/03 - Hello everyone :o} Wanted to bring an update to Mr. Clinton's friends & Followers. He is doing very well here, & yes, I do say VERY even tho' we have had a few incidences of him & my Bogey "getting into it". I did expect that this would happen, guess just not quite prepared for the intensity that has been shown. BUT.....with love and being around them as I would a toddler left alone in a toy store...LOL...NOT! I (we) will teach the two of them how to get along with one another without hurting one another. I have listened intently to those I have shared my concerns with & gratefully, everyone has great ideas with each person bringing me different "takes" on what I might do and what not to do. I am sure, as he is a VERY fast learner (this smart boy learned my command for "out of the kitchen while we are eating) in just 3 days! All I have to do is say it once now & he goes into the other room & lays down like a gentleman. Clinton is a smart cookie and he will soon learn that "we don't hurt our family members". He has settled right into our routine, almost leads the way already :o} knows "the drill" for eating times, outside times, siesta times. Like I said, a very smart cookie! And the carrots....he leads the way to the carrots now! He definitely has found his forever home and I am so grateful that we have found him. He is a pleasure to be around. We are starting to learn one another's "looks" which is always kinda fun...the way these guys look at you when you talk to them ~~ heart warming to say the least. See....as I am writing this, he jumped up on my couch...a no-no, all I had to do was snap my fingers at the lad & he was down. Good boy Clinton :o}. Hope everyone smiles a bit to read how well he is doing & knows, that somehow, they were a part of this being a reality. Thank you everyone..again & again.

2/23/03 - Hello everyone from Clinton's Forever Family & Clinton. Today marks a week since Mr. Clinton has come to live with us. He is a absolute doll! He has made himself right at home here....sleeps with me every night! LOL don't mind so much as he doesn't snore......much anyway. I believe that he knows how much he is loved...as he has gone "soft" on us, you know when the boxers are so relaxed their coat becomes silky & super soft. He went "soft" on us within 3 days of being with us. There are still a few "issues" with him & my other pupper, but I am sure this will all work itself out. Lots of attention & hugs given to both. And..Clinton is eating the carrots now! LOL..my treats for my dog (weight issues). At first he spit them out on the floor but now....:o} he happily eats them. Clinton sends hugs & kisses to Tina..he still responds to your name. Hope this is enough of a update. Regards to all. Debby, Jesse, Scott, Bogey & Clinton

2/17/03 - Clinton has been adopted.  Hey everyone...wanted to let you know a.s.a.p. how well Clinton is doing. He is a very sweet boy, very good with everyone here & seems to be very happy in his new forever home. He has already become one of the "crew". Many kisses & hinny wiggles for everyone! His is a true honey. Will update as often as possible. Thank -you to everyone at BAR!

2/16/03 - Clinton is pending adoption.

2/7/03 - It has been decided that in order to find Billy and Clinton wonderful homes of their own, we will be placing them apart from each other. I do feel they will be ok. When they are out Clinton is usually in the back with me and Billy remains in the front of the house with the kids. So from this point on they will have individual updates. Clinton continues to do perfectly here in our home. He is crated during the day when I leave but do not feel it would be necessary when he gets in to his own home. He is a wonderful dog who loves everyone he meets and is perfect with all the other dogs in the house. He is a little rough when he first meets children...jumpy...but does settle down after a bit. Clinton just LOVES to bounce around like a tigger...he is so funny to watch when I get home from work and let him out...he just bounces and wiggles all over, he is just so happy to see me. I think Clinton will do well in most any home, except one with cats. Please consider making this boy a part of your life. Don't let the age fool you...he can run circles around my 3 year olds.

1/27/03 - Billy and Clinton have been here for a little over two weeks now and have settled right in. They have met 3 of my dogs so far, male and female and have been great with them all. Clinton loves to play with you and the toys...he is such a happy bouncy boxer boy. He also has no problem sitting with you just being loved and cuddled. His looks sure have it all going on also...this guy is so beautiful....the perfect flashy brindle boy. Billy is a super boy as well...he doesn't play as much as daddy does but sure does like to get his share of the loving and gives it back three fold. He is great in the crate...sleeps all night. He does try to play with my girls every so often and does much better at this outside then in. I have wood floors and he does a lot of sliding. Billy needs a home that will have the time to walk him on a daily basis to help build his muscle tone in his hind legs. Please consider these boys for your home....fill out your app today!!

1/13/03 - First day alone....Well I went back to work today and these two boys spent the day in the crate...they were super!! No accidents for either one of them. Billy sometimes, due to his accident when he was younger has a hard time holding his bladder for any length of time but he has been terrific...no accidents at all. Clinton has become a bouncy, bubbly boy...when ever myself or the kids come home he bounces around and jumps up to great us...he is such a doll. He isn't much on the toys but sure does love the cuddling. I recently found out that he and Billy spent a few months outside in a dog house with straw to sleep on then were moved into a garage with no heat and some blankets. Both came in with doggy coats that they always wore. Their fur is a little heavier then normal and they are having to adjust to the heat but doing well. Billy has been put on a regiment of exersize. Starting today he will be walked each day after work gradually increasing his distance. His hind quarters are very weak and not having any exercise has definitely not helped him. So working him slowly into a regular walking routine will build his muscles. We went today for about a quarter of a mile and he did great...we walked at a slower pace and he wanted a bit faster so we sped it up a bit. He did wonderful! We got home he went out back for a few minutes came back in and is now resting... if you want a pair of walking buddies that are great on a leash and would like to give these guys the loving they are missing out on let us know...fill out your app today!!

1/11/03 - Day two: Clinton and Billy are doing terrific here. They have been introduced to all three of my females with no issues at all. They got to see my kitty from the inside of a crate last night and were looking pretty hard at her so that will go very slow:o) I made a nice soft bed in my nephew's room last night with some cushions and sheets. Billy thought he was in heaven! He curled right up and went to sleep...Clinton on the other hand, he decided the bed would be a bit more comfy for him so he snuggled at the end of Anthony's bed. A big no-no for the first night for a foster but these boys had been having to sleep in a garage for a bit so I figured they needed a little spoiling...also being owner surrenders and knowing a lot about them helps too. Billy had a little bit of a hard time this morning getting his legs in order and I had to help him down the hallway to the back door...by then he was ok and moving along. Both slept soundly through the night not needing to go out at all. They spent hardly anytime in the crate today and were wonderful. They do not get into anything at all. Love to get their fair share of the attention...and they deserve it. Both are here lying at my feet resting nicely with my 18 month old female. This pair will need a very special mom and/or dad to take care of them. Do to Billy's accident when he was 1 year old, he has a hard time walking sometimes and may need you to help him along. This is mainly after he has been laying down for a while. And it doesn't last too long. These boys are a wonderful pair and have so much love to give...will you consider them for your home??

1/10/03 - Well Billy and Clinton have arrived via Cary Airlines.  Billy is a 3 yr old Flashy brindle boy with natural ears and a docked tail. Clinton is his father...a 6yr old Flashy brindle with cropped ears and a docked tail. We will start off with Billy...When Billy was 1 yr old he was hit by a car. Extensive damage was done to his rear legs and he underwent major surgery. Billy can now walk but is a little weak in his hind quarters. Billy is extremely sweet and loves to put his head in your lap for lots of pets and kisses...don't worry, he isn't greedy, he will give you many great kisses in return. He is housebroken, good with other dogs and kids! Clinton is his daddy and Billy depends on him to be his protector. Clinton loves nothing better than to make sure Billy is ok and not in any danger. This boy is also a total doll and is great with other dogs and kids. The owner was forced to make the VERY difficult decision of giving these two boys up due to family changes. They are a little confused right now and wondering why they are here but with the love of a great new family I think they will adjust nicely. We will be placing Billy and his dad together so if you have room in your heart and home for these two great boys, PLEASE fill out an app today.
