4/28/04 - Kobe has an excellent home and is very
loved and spoiled!! He has just had his check up, and all is great. No
fleas, ticks, or heartworm! he will begin his summer journeys to Maine and
Canada as soon as I finish the school year, he loves the ocean just about
as much as I do. He thinks he is a bird dog. Kobe and I are inseparable,
he is with me all the time when I am not working, and always someone
checks with
him, like my son (who is home from college) and my husband so that he
always has human contact. As a matter of fact right now Kobe is sitting on
my sons lap watching cartoons. he never leaves the yard, nor is he let out
without someone with him. So he is well loved and cared for! 8/21/03 - Well, Kobe is still thriving!! He
finished his obedience training, received his diploma and a treat. He is
so smart, and also very stubborn. he gets this expression on his face when
he doesn't want to do something, or he really tries to ignore us. we just
end up laughing because he is so funny! there is no meanness in this boxer
boy!! He has a new habit, which is to push his water and feed tray all
over the kitchen before he settles down to eats. he is he very best boxer
boy!! and a lap dog he is too!! he will sit and snore for hours, and we
end up with cut of circulation!! We let him be part of the family.
Kobe is going on vacation to Maine!! he will love it there! friends of
ours have a new golden, and Kobe is so good with other dogs, that they
should get on quite well. I just wonder how much Kobe will like the cold Maine
water!!!
Kobe has been with us 7 months, but it feels like his has always been with
us. this is a wonderful, wonderful boxer boy! he is licking me as I am
typing this.
Kobe continues to be in excellent health, no vet trips, except to trim the
nails, which I am to afraid to do. if i can figure out how to put new
pictures of him on the site i will be glad to do so.
That's all the news for now, will let you know about the Maine vacation
when we get back. many thanks again for Kobe!! and he thanks you to for
finding us...
5/24/03 - Kobe is doing great!! At the moment he
is snoozing away on the couch, so content. Kobe is going to
"doggy" school, as agreed to in his adoption papers. He is the
class clown, all he wants to do is play, and I personally think that he is
bored with all that is required of him! After all he never leaves our
yard, just once to try to get a squirrel, but he comes running on voice
command. And he loves to hang out with us, so curious as to all the yard
work we do. Kobe had a wonderful trip to Maine to visit our son who was
still in college, it was a 5 hour drive and Kobe was the best Boxer Boy!
Not one peep out of him, but was grateful for the pit stops. we stayed at
a dog friendly hotel, and he was very well behaved!! He was also the hit
of the dorm, getting lots of attention from other students. Sean is home
for the summer and Kobe is thrilled, he slobbers all over him. we cant run
on the beach now that tourists season has started, but we still daily run
at the conservation area, he loves it. As tick season has started we
frontline him every month as they are bad this year. Kobe hasn't had any,
but I got a nasty bite... we went to the DQ yesterday and he got his first
summer treat. He loves to ride!! His favorite toy, a gift from Willie and
Cary, is his sponge bob toy, when Kobe shakes it it says, "I love
jelly fishin", and Kobe goes on and on with it, so much so we give it
a time out, and make him get his pizza!!! Kobe also loves lupins, he likes
to roll in them, why I don't know, but it is sure funny to watch!
Kobe continues to be so healthy!! We have not been to the vet's at all. He
is just the best Boxer Boy and we so love him, as does other members of
the family, especially my father, who spoils him cookies. Well it's time
to go out, more news as the summer progresses. Sharon
2/4/03 - This is my Kobe update!, and what a
grande one it will be. Kobe is doing so well, it's amazing that he has
become so much part of this family. The biggest event is the Kobe can now
be off leash at the conservation area, or at the beach, be under voice
control and come back-on one whistle!!! He is not at all alpha, either! He
has many new friends, from Kosmo the lab, Harry the fox terrier, buddy the
bull terrier, and of course Willie(Cary's boxer). Kobe will need some
direction on not jumping when he is playing, he loves to takes these
running leaps into you, ans he has no idea how strong he is-but he never
jumps when meeting new people or other dogs. we are constant car buddies,
everywhere to the mail, bank gas station, where he is given treats. His
car behavior is excellent, no whining at all. He just hops in, makes his
nest and off we go. Kobe will begin his obedience training in March,
hopefully the winter weather will be gone by then. I am really thinking
that if he does well with obedience that we might think about doing some
agility work. I think that Kobe has so much potential!! Kobe's coat seems
to be darkening a little. There no current health issues to discuss,
He loves his wellness food and biscuits. This is such a grand dog, and
everything day we are so grateful that he came to us!!! he is such a
loveybug, a 60 pound lap dog, and we just love it!!! Sharon
1/8/03 - This is a Kobe update...today we went to
the vets. He was excellent, thought he could be a lap dog for all
the other people that were there with all of their dogs. We were
lucky that we didn't run into any cats!
Kobe has checked out just fine! His stitches are all dissolved, and there
is no infection at the site, even though he has licked the area a little
to much. He weighs 57 pounds!!, and should only gain about three more. I
had to exchange the heartworm medication for the next higher dosage, 50
pounds doesn't cut it. His heart is good, no problems with that
at all. the vet said to take him home and enjoy, and we are!!
Kobe is a constant companion to Sean. Sean had wisdom teeth surgery
done on Tuesday, and Kobe has not left him, except for the walks and to
eat. He has decided that he will sleep three different places, on
the floor in his blankets, the couch and then on my bed...Kobe is enjoying
the rides in the cars. And the best is for tomorrow, Willie is coming for
a play date! I think that they will get along just fine, the elder and the
youngster.
Do you know when Kobe's birth date is? My vet thought that he might be
just a little under 18 months, but not by much. I am going to use
his adoption date as the birth date unless we know otherwise.
I would like to write something for prospective homes of boxers, I think
that these dogs are of such noble hearts and loyalty and they need to be
with people that will love them unconditionally. Please feel free to put
Kobe's updates on the site if it will encourage people to come forward
with homes.
The last Kobe story, he loves to join us in the bathroom for showers and
baths, he will just lay down until we are finished! and then give us a
little lick, I say it is for good luck. he was also curious about the
bubbles! That's it for now, Sharon
1/5/03 - Kobe is home with us now, and what a
grand entrance he made! He came right in and climbed up onto my son's lap!
He then found his new toy stuffed football and thought it was a good idea
to play. Then he found the bird and was afraid of it! The bird is cooing
away and singing her song, but he could care less! Outside he
listened to the neighborhood sounds. He has such a wonderful presence
about him. He made sure that his presence is known in our
yard. Presently he has decided to change laps. He now is sitting on
top of my husband's lap.
He did a great job in the car, just hopped in and laid right down.
Well tonight will be quite an adventure. I will let you know how things
are going.
1/5/03 - What a beautiful day Kobe had to FLY
HOME to Cape Cod!! He's home by now with his new Forever Mom Sharon.
Everything went off just perfect! It was so easy at our county
airport.....No Lines...No Baggage Check.....No Wait. Tina came to
see Kobe off and took a bunch of pictures that will be posted for everyone
to see soon. Thank you Tina.
1/1/03 - Danny Boy has a new name, Kobe, and is pending adoption.
12/30/02 - Greetings from Boxer Mountain!!
Danny Boy was neutered today. Everything went just fine. He's resting very
comfortably in his crate now. And speaking of being in the
crate......Danny is one of the best dogs I've ever seen for staying in the
crate.
Oh, by the way....he failed the CAT test at the Vet's office today. One of
the resident cats walked into the waiting room and Danny charged at him.
Good thing he was on a leash! But as soon as I told him "NO" he
calmed right down.
He's met all of our crew, one or two at a time, we have seven others
here.
Danny is EXTREMELY housebroken! He can hold himself for hours.....all
night....no problem. No accidents in his crate at all. Under different
conditions....Danny would be out in the house more....not spending so much
time in the crate.
He has an excellent appetite! Not fussy at all. He's eating Wellness
Chicken 5-in-1. Danny likes to run in the snow with Carlie our Dobie,
Maggie our Weimariener, and Caesar our other Foster. He's very strong for
a 50 pound Boxer Boy. There's not a doubt in our minds that Danny will
make someone a faithful friend for life. He's ready to go! Get in Line!
12/27/02 - Greeting from Boxer Mountain!!!
Danny
Boy came to us today from our favorite friends at ANIMAL CONTROL in
Connecticut. What a handsome guy!
He weighs fifty pounds...maybe could use
another five pounds at the most. We took Danny Boy to our Vet today. He
got all his shots and was tested for heartworm. He's scheduled to be neutered
on Monday, December 30th. Danny Boy passed his physical with flying
colors!! He just stole the show at the Vet's office!! All our Vets, Vet
techs, and folks waiting with their pets thought he was just GREAT!
Danny
Boy is Fawn with a black mask and white tips on all four feet. He has a
splash of white on his chest and a few white hairs on his chin. His face
appears to be a tiny bit shorter than most Boxers..it just makes him look
STRIKINGLY HANDSOME!!
Danny is doing very well in his crate. He definitely
needs leash training and obedience training. He likes our twelve year old
grandson Matt. We don't know about cats but we'll continue testing him
with all other stuff.
We hope to meet Tina sometime this week-end and
we'll get some pictures of Danny Boy AND Caesar so you all can see our TWO
handsome Boxer Boys. |
