Pertinent Information
1/4/05 - Diva is doing great. She has turned out
to be a perfect lady, most of the time. She is trained on hand signals
as well as voice. She looks forward to her walks through the woods and
playing with the baby colt Sourdough in the horse pen.
To Diva life is one big game. It doesn't matter if it is in the house, outside or in the car. In November Diva lost her Brother Clyde. Her attitude changed three days after he was put to sleep. She grew up. We are hoping to find another brother or sister for Diva in the near future. 8/5/03 - Diva is doing great, she is very spoiled and gets away with everything. She loves the kids and the kids love her, except as soon as they leave for school she has to run up to their rooms and mess up their beds, but she's a diva so they let her get away with it. Diva is still not fond of the horses or reindeer, she loves to stand outside their pens and bark at them until she goes in with them, an as soon as she does and they start walking towards her she takes off heading for the gate. She is so tough outside the gate again. She loves to run and play, I wish I had her energy now. Around 9:00 at night she gets in these energy burst and drives everyone crazy to play with her, but of course I got kids going to bed, but she doesn't care it's her time to play. She still has a big fetish with balls, but everyone she owns she has destroyed, so the Easter Bunny bought her some tennis balls and they have made it the longest.
Her latest scandal is breaking into the waste baskets
around the house, it doesn't matter whats in them, she just likes to
pull it out and run around the house with tissue or a box or whatever
else is in them. She also loves my mickey mouse house slippers,
she thinks their a stuff animal that she can play with but I have to
chase her around to get them back so I think she thinks its a game.
She has plenty of her own toys and stuff animals, but its not the
same.
She is definitely a love bug, in the morning when Ed
isn't traveling and the kids are getting ready for school, that is
when she climbs on top of Ed to get in all her kisses for her
Dad.
We have a vet appointment for our other boxer,
Clyde, this weekend so Diva will be going along to get her
records in place and of course to be her typical self and see
what she can get away with at the vets. Knowing her she'll
so kiss them to death especially when they feed her biscuits for
no reason at all. We'll give you her up-date next month on
the vet visit.
3/30/03 - Hi all, its Diva here. Its the end of week one and time for my first update. First I want to thank Debbie and Ralph for all the love they gave me. My Mom and Dad said if it wasn't for them I wouldn't be the special girl that I am. Dad also thanks Ralph for not crying !!!!! Lets see. I was very good on the 3 hour trek up to Melrose NY. When we got to my new home I was greeted by this huge white thing. It turns out he is my new brother Clyde. Clyde is eating challenged (he challenges all food not to be eaten). The first night was great, hugs and kisses and snacks all around. Even got a growl out of Clyde (Dad says that was a lot of exercise for Clyde). My Mom and Dad love me. Day 2 I escaped ! Dad was opening the door and poof, right between his legs. I didn't go far, went to visit the reindeer and the horses. I did what I had to do and sashayed on home. Mom reminded Dad that I was not only quicker than Clyde, but much smaller. That afternoon, Moms parents came up and visited. We were all outside during the day. I slept all night on my new bed. From day 3 to this writing I have let my parents see the real me. Dad says I have GOD in my heart but the devil in my eyes. Not one squeak toy squeaker has survived to this writing. Clyde has lost at least a pound. Mom and Dad have a few more Grey hairs. Their is no doubt that I have my parents and my brother wrapped around my paw. I still go by Diva, but I am called other names as well. Miss Kiss (for all of my kisses), Miss Behavin (I still haven't figured this one out), Brat and the list goes on. Dad just came to the room. He has asked that I thank all of the people who he has met through BAR for him. He also says that their is no doubt that this is my forever home. Till next time, DIVA 3/22/03 - Diva has been adopted. 3/18/03 - This morning we got up early and I went for a car ride with my mom. I went to this place where I was before and the people were all very friendly to me. I was giving out kisses out all over and didn't even care when my mom left me. I got another one of those dip baths and the doctor said that I'm good as new all ready to go to my forever home. I gained two pounds since living here. Mom keeps trying to take me for walks but I'm not too good on a leash, I need some training on that. There is so much to see when I'm outside walking I can't help but be nosy. From the window inside the house, I keep seeing this small four legged thing that I try to get at but the windows are in the way. Mom says it's a cat and that I should be nice to it, I would if she would just let me get it for a toy! I love to play with toys, balls, socks, sneakers but the thing I try to get most is my mom's slippers. I keep playing tug of war when they are on her feet and sometime I bite her toe but she still loves me. I'm very strong and can be fiesty at times, but all in all I'm a love that needs a lot of attention and a lot of training. Boxer hugs to everyone, Diva. 3/14/03 - Diva is pending adoption. 3/10/03 - On Saturday, Diva Doodles went for an check up. She was an exceptionally well behaved lady and everyone in the vets office loved her. I pointed out some spots to Dr. Wallach and he did a scratch test on her and it was determined that our little Diva has Sarptopic (please excuse the spelling) mange and was given a dip bath. She is scheduled to go back in 10 days for her second dip. Other than that, she is in great health and shape. Unfortunately, we have to keep her separate from our other dogs and we have to be very careful because we can catch it also. It's so sad to see Diva on one side of the gate and Axel on the other. They had played so well together and now both don't understand why they can't be together. We keep telling them that we are not punishing them, but the look in their eyes say they don't understand. Diva is a love, and once her forever home is found, she will be missed. She loves to run and boy can this little girl jump. We have a 4 ft high dog pen and she jumps as high if not higher than it. She loves to cuddle and give kisses and is eating very well now. She sleeps well at night and is starting to get used to going into her crate. Sometimes we have to push her in but other times, she'll go. She is getting spoiled here and with her charming personality it's very easy to do. 3/7/03 - I've gotten quite a few nicknames in the short time I'm here - Diva Doodles, Wiggly Giggly and the one I'm most fond of is Charm, my foster dad calls me that. He's says I can charm my way into anyone's heart and I already made my way into his. I'm a very active one year old that needs some training but I am very willing to please. I love to give kisses and get hugs. I play very well with my foster brother Axel, but Honey isn't too happy with me yet and I sometimes try to yell back at her. Mom and Dad don't like that, they want us to get along. Honey is telling me she is queen of the household and I'm telling her, it's o.k. but I can be a princess! My two older foster brothers don't care that much about me, except when I try to make them play with me....they don't like too. We got some white stuff here today and it was fun running in the yard with Axel, sometimes I would look at him and wasn't paying attention to where we were headed and I'd end up body slamming a dog or a fence. I'm fine, no bruises. I'd just shake myself off and get right back in the swing of things. Before I decided to write to you, I was sleeping very snuggly with my foster dad. He loves to give me hugs and pets but he doesn't like when I give him too many kisses. Like I said before I am a young active lady but I also like my quite time. Mom puts me into this crate when they leave for work, o.k. I really shouldn't say puts me in, it's more like she has to shove me in but once I'm in, I'm fine until she comes home at lunch. I guess I need to get used to it, everything comes with time. I'm looking for the right family to love me and I'll give lots of love in return, I know you're out there, please don't wait so long to take me home.......Love, Diva 3/5/03 - The Sunrise Angel Haven welcomes it's latest guest, Diva. Diva is a white spayed female with natural ears and a cropped tail. After Auntie Liz picked her up from a NJ shelter, she spent a few hours with her and was given dinner and some great hospitality before I picked her up. She is resting in her crate right now and my guys are getting to know her. Of course, Honey isn't happy having another female in the house, but I'm sure in a few days, they'll be playmates. Stay tuned for more updates on this beautiful girl. 3/4/03 - We made it
home!! Diva is in the crate right now, not too happy, but
she's resting in the crate. She is one cute boxer baby!
Look for more to come soon. |
