3/26/06 - Wow, it has been almost three years since I became an upstate New York boy. Things are going great here. A few weeks ago Mom noticed that I had a bump on my leg and Dr. Mark took it off. They said it was a mast cell tumor, but it was stage I, whatever that is---so, mom just has to keep an eye out in case I have any new bumps. I have my brother, Frankie, trained to wash my face and ears every night. Everything is great here--thanks for getting me a great home, BAR. Boxer kisses, Major

3/26/05 - Mom says I have to write and let you know that it is almost two years since I came to live here. Life is great. I had a trip to the vet today for my heartworm checkup and a manicure. Dr. P said that I look great. Frankie and I play all the time. We made our annual visit to our Humane Society's telethon and we were a hit.
I am supposed to sleep on the floor at night, but if Mom and Dad are sleeping really soundly, I sneak up on the bed and then I sleep in the bed. Daddy is a softie and he lets me get away with murder!
Thanks BAR for finding me such a great home.

10/15/04 - Mom says I should write you and tell you about the fun Frankie and I had the other day. We went to a pig roast where mom set up a booth for BAR. We got lots of pets and love from people. The best part though was that we got freshly roasted pig ears right off the pig. Yum, yum. We had a great time. My grandma's kitty, Cricket, is staying with us and boy, is he fun to chase. I have my boxer brother, Frankie, trained to wash my face and ears every night. I love it at my house and especially love my dad and my brother Frankie!

3/31/04 - Hi everyone, it’s Major here. Mom says I need to write you as everyone on the BAR lists likes to read about how we adoptees are doing. What can I say? Yesterday was my one year anniversary with Mom, Dad, my boxer brother, Frankie, the pain in the neck little dog and those cats who are so great to chase. Things are great here. I love it when the front door is open to catch some sun. There is so much to see outside, especially since the kids are outside playing.
A few weeks ago Frankie and I went to a telethon for the local humane society. It was at a big place called a mall here. There were lots of people there and Frankie and I made lots of friends. We showed people what great dogs boxers are and Mom passed out a lot of flyers and business cards for BAR. A man took some video of Frankie and he was on the news that night. He looked pretty handsome, but he isn’t being too conceited about it!
Mom and Dad say that I am acting more like a boxer every day. I have developed a great boxer dance and love to play with my humans. I bring them toys and have started to play fetch. Mom says this summer maybe I will learn to learn to play Frisbee. She tells me that my big sister, Gypsy, who is at Rainbow Bridge loved Frisbee; so, it sounds like a pretty cool thing to do.
Thanks, BAR, for finding me such a great place to live!

1/16/04 - Hi, it's Major again. Mom and dad knew that my birthday was sometime in January, but not the exact date; so, they chose yesterday, the 15th as my birthday. So, now I am officially two years old now. I really liked Christmas, but mom thought I was kind of mystified by all the stuff; so, she said maybe I was a Jewish dog before. Frankie and I got a whole bunch of new toys and some rawhides, which were new to us. Frankie really liked the rawhides, but I decided that I only like them prechewed. So, Frankie chews on them for a while and then I take my turn. We are not liking this cold weather at all. Our dog walker came yesterday and took us out in that cold weather. Boy, she sure is nice to us. Frankie and I can only spend a few minutes outside at a time; so, we both have lots of energy right now. I hope spring comes soon!

10/20/03 - Hi, it's Major here. Mom just realized that it has been quite a while since I have written to you all. I have been here more than six months already and the time has flown by. I like it a whole lot here. Mom says that I have really plumped up and boy do I like to eat!! Especially those biscuits that mom and dad use to tempt me off the bed at night! Frankie and I really love each other, but mom says we act just like skin brothers. We have tons of toys and bones, but of course we always want the one that the other one has. Sometimes the arguing gets a little too loud, but we always kiss and make up.
Mom and Dad are getting ready to buy us boys new winter coats so that we will be toasty warm when we go for car rides. We also have a dog walker who comes during the week so that we get extra exercise. Joann is really nice and she even plays with us. She is also our overnight sitter when mom and dad go away. Joann has also invited us to a puppy play group. We like to go a lot. There is a cute black and white girl there that Frankie and I like to run with. Her name is Pepper and she plays just like a boxer. Boy, can she run!! There are also lots of other fur kids there to play with there.
My big skin kid sister was home from graduate school last week and she loves me a lot. She says I look like a big teddy bear and that I am very sweet.
Talk to you all again soon.

8/8/03 - Major is busy playing with Frankie; so, this is his mom writing. He is doing great here. He and Frankie love each other so much. Major has really filled out since he joined our family. He is all muscle and is really massive now. Everyday he is acting more and more like a boxer. He pounces to play, attacks the vacuum cleaner and is very curious about everything and most of all, he now gives lots of kisses. He and Frankie like to play the game of "How many biscuits can we steal before mom notices?" Thank God for those 20 pound boxes at Sam's! Frankie is fascinated by Major's tail. Whenever Major walks away from Frankie, Frankie grabs Major's stubby in his mouth. They are both 2 goofs!!

7/8/03 - Hi, it's Major here. Well, I have been here for just a little over 3 months now and it seems like forever. This is just the perfect place for me. Frankie and I are still best buddies and play a lot. Frankie has a broken toe right now and so we can't play as hard as we usually do. Frankie might need a cast on his leg, but Dr. Mark is afraid he might whack me in the head and give me a concussion!!
Mom and Dad are having a new fence installed for Frankie and I. It is nice and shiny. Frankie and I were very good boys when the guys were here installing it. We stayed in the house and never asked once to go out and supervise the guys. Oh, we also helped mom with her gardening and dug up the cucumber plants.
Mom and Dad are going on vacation at their friends' cottage so they got a pet sitter for the cats, Frankie and me. She is going to stay at our house and will let us sleep with her! She is really nice. The little grumpy dog is going to stay with Grandma.
Well that is all for now...thanks BAR for finding me a good and happy home.

5/31/03 - Hi, it's Major here. I am doing great in Upstate New York otherwise known as Guam by those "Easties". Frankie and I are still great buddies and play all the time. I have really muscled up and Dad says bumping into me is like walking into the Great Wall of China. I only have two more obedience classes left with Miss Lacey. Lacey doesn't care much for me, maybe I need to change my cologne or something. She likes Mom alot because Mom brings cooked chicken livers to class and they make Lacey DROOL!! Pretty soon Mom will be done with school and Major and I will be able to play outside all day long--can't wait. Yep, live is good here and I don't ever want to leave.

4/24/03-Major here again. Life continues to be good here in upstate NY. Frankie and I continue to get along well and we play all the time. I went to the vet last night and got my kennel cough shot because I am going to start obedience classes with Miss Lacey (another BAR pooch) on Sunday. I have gained 6 pounds since I came to live here!! I now weigh 72 pounds. I look really good. Mom says I have gotten very muscular from all the running and playing and I have great boxer buns now. Frankie is almost 3 inches taller than me but he weighs less. He is a little skinny; so, Mom and I have to help him beef up a little. But he is just a pup still; so, he will have time to fill out too. Mom came home with a new pull toy for Frankie and I today. I wonder how long it will last this time--we sure have destroyed a lot of toys. This morning the little grumpy Maltese that lives here went outside with me while Frankie was sleeping. We got along pretty well, Rags is the king here even though he is a little pip squeak. Well, gotta go get in my nap so that I feel like wrestling some more!

4/14/03 - Wow, it is really fun here. Frankie and I play nonstop. He is getting a bath right now because he looks like a tiger instead of a white boxer. My turn is next, wonder if I will like a bath? We had visitors today. Mom's friend Auntie Cassie came over to meet me and she said she is going to come back on Wednesday to see me again with her kids--they are TEENAGERS!! Mom signed me up for obedience classes which start at the end of the month. Guess what?  I am going to go to classes with Miss Lacey who is also a BAR pup. Mom says the last class she went to with Frankie was dominated by a bunch of chocolate labs, now we boxers are going to rule. Mom and I are also going to visit Lacey in her new home on Wednesday.  I like it a lot here. Thanks foster mom Nancy for helping to find me a good home.

4/1/03 - Well, it's Major here and I want to tell you that Foster mom and BAR really helped to find me a great home. I have been been playing nonstop with my big white boxer brother, Frankie. Frankie is deaf and I am learning to understand the signs they use to talk to Frankie. Mom and Dad bought me a new crate and I like it a lot. Guess what!! I get to sleep in their room at night. This morning Dad woke up and I was snuggled up to the bed on the floor with my head on a pillow. I love the marrow bones they have here. The only thing that I am confused about is these furry toys they have here that they won't let me play with--Mom says, "No kitties, Major." Tell me, why would they have such great toys that pups can't play with?

3/29/03 - Major has been adopted.

3/28/03 - Major is pending adoption.

3/26/03 - Boy am I having fun here at the Boxer Wings Cottage, Pace and Robi play with me, and we run around the yard, and I get to chase squirrels up the tree, wish I could catch me one though. But they are way to fast for me. I showed my foster Mom how grown up I was today by barking at all the strange sounds and movements in the neighborhood, and she laughed and said I needed to be a little more selective on what I bark at, not sure I understand what that means, but I guess I'll figure it out. The food is real good here, and I am eating lots. But I have to watch out for that little white Robi girl, cause if the foster Mom doesn't put the gate up, she comes and joins me at my dish. She only did that once, and she had to go back into the kitchen, cause the Foster Mom says Robi is part HOOVER, and inhales anything left over. Guess what though, I don't leave any left overs. Oh, and I showed the Foster Mom how smart I am, I sit and lie down on command, and she was very impressed, and gave me some special cookies because I was so smart. I'm also supposed to tell everyone, that I am crate trained. They have 2 really really big crates here, and when I have to go in, my Foster Mom just tosses a few cookies in and says "crate up Major" and I go right in. Okay, so I do bark for a few minutes when I first go in, but then I quiet right down and go to sleep like the good boy that I am. Foster Mom says she is really impressed with me, and I am a really good boy. Okay, I have to go now, Pace and Robi are getting ready to go outside, and I get to go with them. Oh Boy Oh Boy, it's playtime again. Bye Major

3/23/03 - The Boxer Wings Cottage welcomed it's newest guest today, and his name is Major. This boy is an owner surrender who has been well loved and well taken care of his whole life. His owners made the very difficult decision to surrender him to rescue as they are relocating into a more populated area and felt that Major would be happier with a big fenced yard and another dog for a playmate, with lots of room to romp and play.

When Major arrived, he was immediately introduced to Pace and Robi who thought this guy was a great playmate, and he then displayed his enthusiasm for the excercise program they both decided he needed, so around and around the yard they raced and played and over all had a wonderful time playing. Turns out, his favorite game this morning was keep away with the outside toys, and track and field (racing around the fenced yard with Pace and Robi).

After his initial playtime, we decided to introduce him to an overnight guest, Miss Gabby, another BAR foster girl who came to visit for the weekend, and let me tell you, these two pupsters being the same age, had an awesome time chasing each other around, and playing really hard.

Major is a fawn male, with natural ears that are so soft and he loves ear rubs. He sports a handsome black mask with white markings on his chest and toes. He has a beautiful redish blonde coat with blonde highlights in his fur, and is just a very handsome playful bouncy boy. Please follow this boys updates as we get to know him better here at The Boxer Wings Cottage, I'm sure he is going to find just the very best home.
