Pertinent Information
4/9/04 - I just went online and saw all the
adorable pictures for the photo contest. I didn't get my pictures
submitted but I know many people have asked to see updated pictures of
Raven puppy...Here she is. Not a puppy anymore though. She is 1 year
old and we are soooo lucky to have her. She has turned into an amazing
girl. Still the energizer bunny but we do love her so much. The second
picture is of her sleeping with Jack. She never sleeps alone. She will
wait for Jack and Ellie to lay down and then lay on top of one of them.
Hope it is okay that I posted these here.
9/11/03 - Just thought I would take a minute to update everyone on our little girl. Raven is doing so great. She is all puppy and we have had to overlook the ripped couch cushion, chewed up toy box and ruined rug but other than those little things, she has been great. Her housebreaking is coming along great and as long as we pay attention to her, she lets us know when she has to go outside....But, you only get one shot. If she walks over to the door and stands there and you aren't looking...Your loss because you will be cleaning the carpet!! She could not be more friendly with other people and dogs. Her whole body wiggles when she sees anyone. She also listens very well and we have been practicing some obedience before we start our classes. She has a little trouble going to sleep at night unless we have her outside playing all afternoon. This girl is the energizer bunny!! The trick we have figured out is that she can't take a nap at 7:30 when she wants to or she recharges her batteries and is ready to go at 10:00. The funny thing is, once she is settled in, there is no getting this girl out of bed. I have to carry her out of the bedroom in the morning for her breakfast. We could not be happier (and Jack and Ellie feel the same) that she has stayed with our family. She loves my other dogs and cats so much and will wait for them to find their spot when it is nap time and then run over and lay on top of them. The cats don't mind now but she is growing so quick, that soon she will squish them!! She is our little puppy girl and we love her to pieces. 8/10/03 - Raven has been adopted by her foster family. Congratulations! 8/2/03 - Raven is pending adoption. 7/26/03 - Well….I have had quite the week!! I
took a long car ride with my foster brother Jack and we went to Aunt
Nancy’s house on Wednesday. I met Jewel, Avalanche (they are foster
doggies too) and Pace, Robi and Britty. We had sooo much fun! At first I
needed to make sure that the little puppy new that I was the boss, but as
soon as I made that clear, we had so much fun!! Then foster mom and Jack
left and Aunt Nancy took me to the vets. I got something called spayed and
had to stay there. All the people in the office loved me!! I got some
extra special treatment. When Foster Mom came to get me I got so excited,
I almost wiggled out of the ladies arms that was holding me. I had this
ridiculous cone thing on my head and I could not even kiss anyone. Foster
mom took it off and said that if I was really good and didn’t touch my
stitches or bandages, I could keep it off. Well, I am not putting that
thing back on..I haven’t touched any of my boo boos. Mom said that if
she goes out, I will have to wear my collar just in case but she promised
me that she won’t leave me this weekend!! 7/20/03 - Wow...I have had a very busy few days.
I have never played so much in all my life but I love it. We get up early
around here...5 am. I don't mind though...I am ready to get up and go
potty outside and have my breakfast. I love to eat. Foster mom said that
someday I will have to watch my figure because I am such a chow hound. I
get 3 meals a day here and I always lick my plate clean and then I go over
and share Jack & Ellie's. They don't mind, they just move over and
they have really big dishes so both our heads fit. After we have our
breakfast, it is out to feed the horses. While foster mom feeds everyone
and cleans up, we all race around and play for about a half hour. I love
to play with the big guys but sometimes they run to fast and I can't keep
up. I just keep trying and eventually I get them. I spend about 5 hours in
my crate while foster mom is at work which is good because I need to get
my beauty sleep. Then when foster mom comes home at 2:00, we have the rest
of the day to play (after I have my lunch of course). I am a real good
girl when we play in the yard. It isn't fenced here but I stay right in
the yard. When I get tired I go up by myself and sleep on the deck. Foster
mom says I am very independent. When we come in at night, I am so tired.
Ellie is like my doggy foster mom and I wait until she lays down and then
I go and lay ontop of her. She loves me and gives me kisses which helps me
go to sleep. Foster mom says that I will have a home of my very own and I
really hope there is at least one dog for me to play and snuggle with. 7/15/03 - What a day I had today...Foster mom
said I could write a little about what I have been doing so here goes.
This place has so many things to see and do that I am not sure what (or
who) to play with first. They have these things called horses here. I
thought they were just big dogs so I play bowed and barked at them but
they did not think it was very funny. My foster brother and sisters are
really cool too. The little one is old and grouchy so I just stay away
from her but my boxer siblings...Oh, I just can't get enough of them. The
white one wrestles on the floor with me and I jump all over him. He thinks
I am so cute. Ellie is more like my mom. She watches me and doesn't let me
get to far from everybody but she is the most fun because she has all this
extra skin that I can grab on to and shake my head as hard as I can. She
just sits there and lets me do it but Foster mom says that I am hurting
her and I should stop. They have 2 kitties here but I don’t think they
are very much fun so I just ignore them. Who wants to play with something
with claws? Not me!! 7/13/03 - Just thought I would send a quick note
to let you know that the little Long Island girl is here. She is
just the cutest little thing. She quickly made friends with my two
boxers and they played all afternoon. She has gone potty outside
several times and no accidents in the house yet...Here is hoping that
keeps up!! She is a fiesty little girl. She grabs hold of
Ellies extra skin on her face and drags her around growling the whole way.
She loves to play with them, but when she has had enough, she will let
them know. What a sweetheart...She will not be with us long.
Here are two pictures of the boxer bunch at the Boxer Ridge Retreat!!!
Now...any name suggestions???? She needs a strong girls
name...Nothing too frilly!!! |
