Pertinent Information 9/25/03 - Tyson has made major improvement since having been here for two months now...we are so proud of him, as he has just graduated from Dog Obedience!! Tyson has really learned the rules of our house and has been my buddy through some stressful times. I think he knows when I have a bad day!! Tyson loves our foster dog Jake and has become fast pals with him...he will miss Jake!! I have never owned a boxer before Tyson, but now I am hooked and I hope to end up with a few more!! 8/25/03 - Tyson is doing wonderful after having been with us for a month now. He brings a new joy to our lives as well as a few comedic moments that Im sure all of you can relate to (sock stealing, chair stealing, selective hearing etc.) He has just started obedience class and loves to attend (probably because of all the attention he receives from the instructors...what a ham)!! The obedience classes as well as some patience on our part has helped with his manners. He is learning not to jump and also his play biting is slowly diminishing. He loves his crate and will even put himself to bed at night when he gets tired. He has really added a spark to my life and I look forward to each boxer kiss and each wiggle dance I get from him!! 8/8/03 - Hi! It's Tyson again, sorry that I haven't written in over two weeks, but I've been having loads of fun with my new family. My mommy and daddy like to play with me a lot because I'm really a high energy dog, but sometimes I get a little crazy and decide to jump on everything in sight and nibble on things. Notably I decided to eat my Daddy's silver cell phone that he put on the table, and for dessert I decided to nibble on the molding in the living room. Yuck, Paint doesn't taste too good! Anyway, I enjoy running around the big backyard and playing tug with anyone who comes by. I'm still working on walking with people because I like to pull, but mommy says that I'll enjoy some classes which will teach me manners. ;) I'm feeling much better now, and my runny nose is gone after a trip to the nice Dr. at the animal hospital. I really like to cuddle with people and have decided that I should sleep in bed with everyone in the house just to see what its like. When people watch the TV in the big room I like to sit on their feet and let them know that I am there. It's been a long trip since I left Brooklyn at the beginning of July, but I am so happy that I'm in a nice place now. I promise to write again.... TYSON 7/26/03 - Tyson went home on Sat with a great young couple who will give him lots of love and attention. They are looking forward to training him too. Even though he was a challenge at times I miss him, but I know he has lots of love. 7/21/03 - Tyson is pending adoption. 7/16/03 - Hi! I am Tyson (#170) I had a fun weekend. My foster grandmom came over with her little dog Duffy. It was fun playing with her and hanging out on the deck with everybody while they had dinner. My foster parents kept me tied so I couldn't reach the table or the chips and dip though, bummer. "Mom" says I respond really well to positive reinforcement. She seems to like it when I sit and don't put my paws on the counter. I love treats, and hugs, and someone to watch me play with my toys. My nose is still a little runny from the sinus infection. "Mom" keeps wiping my nose with a tissue. It is embarrassing. My other little problem (diarrhea) has cleared up though. I would really like to find a home with someone that wants to spend time with me. I love attention and want someone with a strong hand to help me learn to behave a little better I can behave, but need to know you want me to. Okay they want to tuck me into my crate now. Goodnight. 7/13/03 - Tyson is a good natured dog who likes to be with people. He doesn't seem to mind other dogs although our boxer (Rocket) doesn't get along well with him . He has a big head and he tapers to nothing at the rear (if he didn't have thighs he wouldn't have a back end) :) He is very funny and very entertaining. He is in that awkward teen age stage and is not very graceful. Tyson just needs some training to work out the kinks. All and all, he will make a very good family dog. 7/11/03 - Tyson is doing well after 3 days in his foster home. He has had diarrhea and a runny nose so he went to the vet today. Tyson started on medication for a sinus infection and his diarrhea, so far so good. Tyson likes to play, loves toys, and he is curious about his surroundings, (he likes to jump up and check out what might be on the counters.) Tyson is a laid-back kind of guy who could use a little training in manners. He loves to lounge and stretch out on his back on the floor. Tyson is friendly and affectionate, but not hyper. The first few days he had some trouble with bladder control when he was excited to go out or to see people, but that has stopped as he has become more comfortable. Tyson is a gentle and loving dog. 7/9/03 - Tyson is a love. He is gentle and
friendly. He has a beautiful, soft red coat and soulful eyes.
Unfortunately he is very thin and I suspect he was not treated well in his
puppyhood. Tyson has some small scares on his leg. Tyson loves people. He
gets along well with our other dogs, we haven't introduced him to the cat
yet. Tyson seems to love toys, he looks adorable with his stuffed bone in
his mouth. |
