Pertinent Information
11/18/04 - Well Rosie just got a new brother. He's
been adopted through this rescue. His name is Buster and boy they just
love each other. They are good for each other. Rosie been with us for
2yrs, time has gone by fast. She show's that she's the alpha, Buster
respect her. They are our babies and they keep the family busy.
12/10/03 - Well Rosie has been with me for one
year as of yesterday. She has been staying with Calvin (Bruce's dog )
during the day so finally she doesn't need to be in the kennel. She is
just as sweet as ever. She is however picking up a few of Calvin's
tricks like begging and I'm ignoring both of them when they do it. She
is doing great. I can't believe it's been a year already. Take care and
have a nice holiday. 8/19/03 - Well it's been busy around here. Rosie is doing great and getting better with other dogs. Rosie is great and she is getting better when we walk about other dogs. I've only heard her bark once or twice since she's come to live with me. We been busy moving things around the beginning of Oct. Rosie will have a brother. I'm getting married and my fiancée has a chocolate lab. (male. We've been walking them together and Rosie is getting better. She was not to happy to see my fiancée with another dog at first but she is getting better. I'm sorry I'm so behind on her update but she is great and we enjoy her a great deal. 8/4/03 - I just wanted to let you know that Rosie is doing great. However, I have noticed the longer I have her the more selective her hearing becomes. When I come home for lunch and let her out somehow she doesn't hear me call her to come in. I usually have to go get her. Rosie is great it's like we've been together for ever. She loves to go walking in the morning and she loves people. Thanks again for her. Peggy 4/17/03 - Rosie has been part of the family for four months now and everyone just loves her. My youngest daughter has babysat her at night during tax season as I work long hours. When she didn't have her Rosie would come to the office and the staff fell in love with her. She would prance into each office to be pet. After visiting everyone back to my side to lay down and chew on her bone until it was time to go home. I must admit Rosie is quite spoiled but she is very well behaved. She just completed obedience class and did very well. Most people do not believe that I haven't had her that long. If I give her a command she does it whether she wants to or not. She's always eager to please. 2/29/03 - Rosie has started obedience classes and is doing well. She loves kids and people but she's not crazy about other animals. I am trying to socialize her with other dogs. If it works great if not she obeys when I tell her to leave it. This dog has the best personality and is so lovable. Thanks again, Peggy 2/13/02 - Rosie is doing wounderfully. I had her to the Vets on Tuesday, I thought she was getting a cold. Turns out to be allergies. My baby weighted in at 57 pounds. She went in and gave the tech and vet lots of kisses (a big hug for the vet) Rosie puts both paws on your shoulders and puts her head down. She hugs you! The vet said she is real sweet. Her heart murmur is very faint. He said she's very healthy. The only problem I have with Rosie is she leaves her toys all over the house. Everyone should be as lucky as I am. She is such a joy. She is wonderful with kids, loves everyone except cats. She starts her obedience classes (not that she needs them) on Sunday Feb. 23. I can't wait to see how she reacts. Thanks again for Rosie. 12/30/02 - First let me tell you the story of how Rosie became my dog. I had received single red roses from a few woman most of them I knew but one in particular one I had no idea who she was. In the meantime my Shepard of 13 years had to be put to sleep. I wanted a dog but not a puppy, so my daughter told me about Boxer Angle Rescue so I signed up and they checked my house out. I did go on their sight but I was uneasy about getting an older dog. So I started to pray about this. I said God if you want me to have a dog you'll have to send me one. My daughters laughed and said do you think God is going to send this dog to your door. I said I don't know about a month and a half after I had filled out all the paper work I received an e-mail from Boxer Angle Rescue asking me to look at this dog on their site. I had seen Rosie before and thought to myself she'll be too much work. But I believed if God wanted me to have a dog he was going to send her to me (but I never thought by e-mail). So I e-mailed Tina and asked her some questions and she gave me the foster parents name and number and I called and talked to them. I told them I wanted to adopt Rosie and could they meet me half way. They agreed and Tina sent me the adoption papers. Before I signed them I prayed again God please let me know if Rosie is from you. She seems to have been neglected and I don't know if she would turn on me. Gods response was very clear. He showed me the woman over the past six months giving me single red roses. Her name was Rosie! There was no doubt in my mind Rosie was given to me from God. She had a little problem with separation at first but again I said God you gave her to me now please show me what to do with her. I found if I put her in her kennel one half hour before I leave she stays calm until I come home. I can not tell you the joy this dog has brought to my life and so many others. Rosie was the biggest hit Christmas day every time I looked she was snuggled up with someone. When Rosie gets up we go out and play so Diana & James will be happy to hear all her fur has grown in on her back and tail. Rosie is wonderful! I will send pictures after the holidays. 12/8/02 - Rosie has been
adopted. 12/4/02 - Rosie is pending adoption! 12/02/02 - Hello from Boxer Mountain!! Took Rosie over to our vet to have her staples taken out today. Everything looks good. The vet and Techs were amazed at the weight she's put on in a week and a half! The hair on her lower back and tail is really starting to come in well now. Rosie is so good in the car! Did some shopping today.....made five or six stops.....there were people around......she never made a peep at anyone. In the last week and a half we've been spending a lot of snuggle-time with Rosie. She really loves people by the way. Again.....CATS are definitely OUT for Rosie! She also wants to be the alpha-dog with other dogs. She plays really well with them outside ..but indoors....confined spaces.....she gets very nervous and defensive. While spending much time with her sitting on the couch...the poor thing has so many scars on her little body! She even has a chunk taken out of her tongue. Rosie's ears and neck....especially her ears...have really taken a beating. Again Rosie is such a great "PEOPLE DOG". She wants to snuggle and just be your friend 24/7! And she is VERY housebroken...not one accident the entire time she's been here....even when she wasn't feeling well. Rosie can be left alone in her crate for long periods of time. She feels safe in her crate. So with this wonderful time of year....of Christmas and Hanukkah upon us...Couldn't you find it in your heart to give this little snuggle bug the home she deserves? 11/24/02 - Hello from Boxer Mountain. Well we picked up Rosie from our vet late in the morning yesterday. The poor thing looked so sad and she's so skinny! But when she saw me she still managed to wag her tail. It's about 35 minutes to home.....and she slept the whole way. Rosie has been doing a lot of sleeping in and out of the crate. And she really does like to get up on the couch and put her head in my lap. She snuggles up with my 12 year old grandson and also likes to snuggle with our Boston Terrier. She really likes "PEOPLE COMPANY". Rosie DID give our Boxer Boy Cosmo a LIFT OF HER LIP when he was sniffing her rear. But Cosmo is very good about it...you just tell him to go away and he does. Had Rosie out in the yard for about half an hour today. She did well...she likes to sniff and explore. We let her drag her leash on her and she's very good..she comes right over when you call her. 11/22/02 - Took Rosie to our Vet around 1:00.
She was passing a lot of almost black colored blood and discharge. 11/21/02 - BOXER MOUNTAIN UPDATE Yesterday our 5 year old Grandson, Austin, took Rosie for a nice long walk around the front yard. She never pulled him once and wagged her tail every time Austin bent down to pet her. Rosie really seems very "People-Friendly". You can almost sit and watch Rosie's belly getting bigger and bigger with those puppies of hers!! Can't wait 'til she has them! Don't know if Rosie is excited......but we're excited......think it's SOS for her. She's still very quiet in her crate but she does want to come out more and socialize. We've been slowly introducing her to the rest of our crew. We never use the leash on her anymore when she goes in the back...which is fenced. She loves exploring the yard. Today Rosie was out with our female Dobie, Carlie...who is really a great dog but VERY PLAYFUL!! She and Rosie got along really well. Carlie tried to get Rosie to play and run but Rosie is really not up to all that right now. We think she'll make a great family dog someday but to make a true judgment call would have to be after she has her pups. We are going to transfer Rosie to Tina's house this Saturday. We have 35 years experience with ADULT dogs and Tina's much more suited for taking the puppies...Then we'll be sitting on the edge of the couch waiting for the updates!! Rosie really is a LITTLE SWEETHEART!! 11/19/02 - Hello from Boxer Mountain. Well our Rosie gal went to the vet yesterday and we have a few surprises! First is she is going to have a litter of puppies in 10 to 14 days. There are five to seven puppies just waiting to enter this world! We found out she doesn't care for young cats at all. Rosie is very "ADULT FRIENDLY". We haven't had her around young children yet. She loves her crate.....does not make a peep when she is in it....wants to stay in there and sleep 23 hours a day. We haven't introduced her out of the crate to any of our bigger dogs. She has met Tipper..our Boston and she did fine with him. When Rosie is taken out.....she pees and poops in about 60 seconds and wants back in the house. Rosie has a mild heart murmur, she's blind in her left eye...but it does not affect her in any way that we can tell. She's allergic to fleas and chewed off much of the hair at the base of her tail as a result...nobody paid any attention to her chewing. ..We can't treat her for her allergy until after she delivers her puppies. Rosie has several scares on her head and nicks on her ears......she has definitely had a hard life up until now. This is also not her first litter of puppies. While looking at the x-rays of the puppies we saw Rosie has some fusing of the vertabra at the base of her spine which will cause her to limp a little latter in life. Even though Rosie has been through a lot that she can't tell us about.......She wags her tail whenever we talk to her. She loves her head rubbed and petted and licks your hand when you stop. She has such a sweet little Boxer girl face. Can't wait to see Rosie's puppies!! If they look anything like their Mom...we'll have applicants to adopt them coming from all over. This little girl really needs a break in life. 11/17/02 - Greeting from Boxer Mountain! We've had Rosie here for about six hours now. She had a long ride, she ate and drank well, relieved herself on the leash. Rosie seems to like people very much!! She's been sleeping in her crate for all this time except when she ate and went out. Rosie has just the sweetest face! She does need to put on a bit of weight. She has some fur missing by the base of her tail. So tomorrow she goes to the vet to have everything checked out. Rosie of course, is scared. When one of the other dogs gets too close to her crate she growls a little...not a viscious growl....just nervous. Stay Tuned 'til next time........We sure hope Gary has some pictures of our Rosie Gal.....she's a cutie! |
