Pertinent Information 11/13/05 - I picked up Ariel and we are now home. She is beautiful. She rode very well but I noticed she was shaking a little. It must be very confusing for her. My grandson (6) is here and she is fine with him. She is wondering around the house and if I leave the room she wines a little. I did crate her for a few minutes when we got here. She was hesitant to go in but I insisted and she went. She was fine in the crate until I went in the basement then she wined. I have a gate between the front and back of the house so Tony is on one side and she is on the other. I took her out to go to the bathroom without any problems. She saw the dogs on the other side of the fence and was raring to go chase the fence line but I held her back. I will update soon after I give her time to settle in. So far so good. 11/12/05 - Unfortunate
Ariel's placement did not work out and she has been returned to rescue.
She stayed overnight with one of our foster families awaiting transport
to her new foster home and this is what they had to say about Ariel: 6/24/05 - Ariel has adjusted so well to our home. We are so happy that she was sent to us from such a loving family. There were some of the things that they were working with her and we have been able to succeed with that training. She is such a wonderful addition and as always a perfect fit for us. It broke my heart to crate her the first day we left, so I left work early to let her out. The next day I didn't crate and she has been an angel. What a personality....sometimes I wonder if she is a person stuck in a dogs body. She has visited all of the neighbors and the neighborhood dogs and gets along with everyone. She is very excited she has sooooo much space to just run around. She is getting her daily exercise with either myself or with my husband. Those 5:00 am walks really wake us all up! She has met her new vet and he was overly impressed with her breeding. She is a beautiful girl. The kids are also very happy to have another companion in the house. They give her all the attention any dog could ever want. She got to go to my sister-in-laws last week for the day and was very playful there too. She just seems to adapt very well everywhere she goes. She is going to get a chance to go to the campground this weekend so this also will be a new adventure for her, but we have no reservations. Well again, to all at Boxer Angels Rescue who made this happen, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, as she is just what we wanted and hoped for. 6/16/05 - Ariel has been adopted 6/6/05 - Ariel is pending adoption
4/18/05 - Ariel is a
typical Boxer girl, full of energy and always ready to play! The flip
side of that is that she absolutely LOVES children and is a complete
cuddle bug--even going so far as to sleep snuggled under your covers.
She's loving and a joy to be around, but needs a strong-willed owner, as
she can be headstrong at times and needs to be reminded that she is NOT
in charge. 4/17/05 - Ariel has been returned to rescue because he is not getting along with the male dog in the home. She is wonderful in all other ways, but we feel now that she will need to go to a home with no other pets. 11/198/04 - Ariel has been adopted 10/25/04 - Ariel is pending adoption 10/19/04 - We can't believe that Ariel has only been here 3 days....She has adapted to the workings of the household so well! The introductions to our resident dogs over the weekend couldn't have gone better and everyone received treats, hugs and kisses for their good behavior! It seemed that once Ariel realized she was among friends and relaxed into the atmosphere, the REAL playtime began. She has been non-stop with her inspection and subsequent dispersal of every toy in the toy basket, and has lit a fire, so to speak, under the usually laid back resident doggies. It's a sight to see, all the Boxer play and woo-wooing, games of tag and keep away......When the other dogs decide to rest, Ariel is unphased.........she just heads off to find the two resident children. You know just when she's 'found' them, because the shrieks, giggles and thumping upstairs abound! There is no resisting Ariel's enthusiasm for life, and if you try, she's perfectly willing to speak her mind. This is one vocal Boxer girl, a trait that we love, thankfully! hee heeAriel's quick adjustment and fearless demeanor are a testament to her previous home and her new family will be lucky, indeed! 10/17/04 - Well Ariel came through her first night in foster care with flying colors! Even though I could tell she was a bit upset and very confused as we drove away from her Mom, she settled into the back seat and was a great passenger during the trip to her foster home. When we arrived, Ariel walked around the yard, checking out the scents and scenery and adding a scent or two of her own. Then, the resident dogs went to the attached garage while Ariel was allowed to roam/sniff the whole house. Of course, in typical Boxer fashion, her tour started and ended at the toy basket! :o) After such an exciting morning, Ariel was ready for a rest, so we crated her with her crate pad that her Mom sent for her and a couple of her favorite toys. The resident dogs then came in and there was much curious sniffing going on, but no aggression or hair raising---WONDERFUL! It's quite obvious that this girl has been well-loved and cared for her entire life so far, and we thank her Mom for providing such a wonderful home. :o) We all agree that she deserves the same in the years to come.........Are you the family that can provide that to this beautiful girl? 10/16/04 - Ariel has arrived at her new foster home! She rode wonderfully, pottied in the yard and then was given the tour of the house. She has settled into her crate, now. The other dogs have checked her out, all tails wagging and no aggression. So, we'll give her some adjustment time, as much as she needs and then proceed to intros, probably tomorrow. 9/30/04 - Ariel is an owner
surrender that needed to find a new home. Ariel's mom, who raised her from
a pup, just can not give Ariel the time and attention that she needs. It
broke her moms heart to give her up, but she knows, for Ariel's benefit,
this is the best think to do for her. this has been a very long and
agonizing decision, as we have been in contact with her for months, and
she finally realizes that she needs to do this, for Ariel. |
