Pertinent Information 6/15/05 - Hello - I have had Duke now for 2 months. I picked him up on April 12th as a Foster. He was pretty thin, breath was bad, and his nose was very chapped. He has since put on a healthy 10 pounds, shed a full coat, had his teeth cleaned, and his nose is now soft and chap free. He Looks Very good. He was with me about 2+ weeks and I was too attached to give him up so I adopted him. He is a Great Dog. He wasn't all that comfortable being left alone in the beginning but I broke him in slowly - only leaving for brief periods and gradually extending the time, and I never made a fuss over him when I left, sometimes I never even said good bye. It took about a week and he was fine. He now has the run of the place when I am gone and there is never anything out of place when I come home. He would pull a little on the leash but I worked with him and now he is a dream dog to walk. Stays on my left and walks at my pace. He loves everyone, adults and children. He likes to play ball - he would fetch forever if he could. He is not a beggar, he doesn't even come near the table when I am eating. He does very well in the car, he just lays down in the back seat the whole ride. I can take him any where and he is extremely well behaved and listens very well. He is not dependent on a lot of attention, he is just happy to be in the same room with me. He is a great dog all around - I don't know how anyone could have just left him the way they did but he is doing well now and I am very happy to have him. 5/1/05 - Duke has been adopted. 4/16/05 - Duke is an owner surrender who is pending adoption.
