6/11/06 -
Hello everyone! Mason
is doing great and continues to be a big love. We are in
the process of 5/29/06 -
Now that the weather
is finally warm we have been spending a lot of time outside.
Mason and our 5/11/06 -
Sorry it has been so
long since my last update, things have just been busy!
Mason is doing very 4/14/06 -
Mason continues to do
very well with us. He no longer jumps on us and hasn't had
any accidents 4/8/06 - Hello!
Mason (formally Roscoe) is doing great. He and our other
boxer, Jacie, are completely in love! They act as though
they have been companions their whole lives, always giving each
other kisses and cuddling together on their dog bed. Mason
has been doing well at night. He whines when he first goes
in the crate, but settles right 4/6/06 - Just wanted to let everyone know Roscoe has just left with his new mom and dad. They fell in love as soon as they saw him. He immediately went to them with his boxer kisses. He had a six hour trip to me and now a five hour trip to his new home. He has come a long way on his journey to finding his forever home. The family is great and more then willing to continue his training. I know they will be fine with him and I wish them the all the best. He will be missed. He is such a ham. 3/31/06 - Roscoe is pending adoption. 3/30/06 - Roscoe
is doing wonderfully. He knows basic commands such as come, sit,
stay, heel. Put that into practice with simple leadership and
exercise and you have the prefect pup. Have I mentioned before how
beautiful he is. I love that tri colored face of his. He looks like
a masked bandit with the black surrounding his eyes. Pictures just
don't do him justice. He is a perfect example of a boxer. The way he
stands, holds his head high and proud during walks. He loves
everyone, gets along very well with children and dogs. He's crate
trained and housebroken, And he loves to give sloppy kisses. What
more could you possibly ask for. He is still waiting for his forever
home. Hopefully he won't 3/26/06 - Roscoe
continues to amaze me each day with his blossoming personality. He
is an absolute sweetheart. He's also got to be one of the loyalist
dogs I've met. He always wants to know where we are. Always laying
at our feet, no matter where we are. He's not a big furniture dog.
He's just as happy to rest his head on your feet. 3/23/06 - Roscoe went for his well check up today. He was absolutely perfect. The vet was backed up and very busy so we waited awhile. Roscoe was very patient and well behaved. I had to keep looking to make sure it was him. Everyone in the waiting room complemented me on his behavior and his beauty. My vet was smitten with him. Roscoe decided his face needed cleaning and made sure he did not miss a spot. He was very friendly with everyone in the waiting room, no shyness at all (and no peeing). You better hurry and get your applications in. This pretty baby won't be here long. 3/22/06 - Hi again. There have been some inquiries about Roscoe already so I wanted to keep everyone updated with his training. I want to stress that it is important that his training continue upon adoption. He is making great improvements and will continue to improve with continued training. When Roscoe first came to us he was so excited all the time we couldn't touch him without him bouncing and wiggling and yes, peeing. I am happy to report my husband was able to wrap his arms around Roscoe's neck for a hug last night which he accepted calmly and without peeing. He's getting better about not bolting out the front door. Were still working on the car door. He goes into his crate with little or no coaxing, and hardly whines at all. He doesn't look at my toddler like a plaything anymore. He sat still yesterday and allowed him to crawl all over him. I found out Roscoe probably would not be good with cats as he views anything his size or smaller as boxing partners. He actually obsessively chased my friends cat all over the house. But for the most part, he is making great improvements. He is very smart and very willing to please.
3/21/06 - Roscoe
continues to make progress with his training. He loves his walks and
is a big mush when he settles down long enough to receive attention.
He definitely loves to play, which all comes along with a pup. I am
learning if he goes out to the bathroom often, like every hour, it
reduces the excitement puddles. Although he does still pee a little
in his crate in the mornings and when we come home. Hopefully this
is something he will outgrow. He sleeps all night in the crate
without making a peep and he continues to do well with the other
dogs.
3/20/06 - Roscoe is
behaving much better. This pup is very smart and eager to
please. Going for a few power walks a day, away from the chaos of
three kids and four dogs is the key to getting his mind into a more
calm state so he can focus on who is boss and doing what he's told.
He's still a pup and can't be expected to behave perfectly all the
time, but he's a ton calmer now then three days ago. He does get
overly excited in the mornings and upon our arrival home and leaks
in his crate and all the way to the door to go out, but were working
on that. 3/19/06 - I would like to introduce Roscoe to
everyone. He arrived at my home on Saturday. Where do I start. He is
first off quite the looker. And has a personality to boot. He is
very sweet and seems to love everyone and everything he meets.
Roscoe does have a little excitement problem. He piddles on the
floor when overly excited. He also definitely has a puppy's
playfulness. I talked with BAR'S trainer this morning on how to help
Roscoe with his excitement problem. I learned a ton of interesting
things I never knew before. I will definitely be putting Roscoe's
training into motion ASAP. (Thanks Kim). I think with proper
consistent training Roscoe will make a wonderful pet. He already
wants to know where I am at all times. He lays at my feet when he
takes a breather. He listens pretty well when I say his name. I put
him in a time out last night in his crate and he didn't give me any
trouble. He pulls on his leash a bit but we will work on that also.
He sleeps quietly all night in his crate. He whines at first but
settles down pretty quick. Because Roscoe is such an excitable pup a
home with no small children is probably best. If his new owners keep
up his training and always keep him under control then he would be
fine with small kids. 3/18/06 - Well everyone, Roscoe is here safe and sound. What a long trip for him. But it didn't seem to tire him out in the least. Peg hit the nail on the head when she described him as a wild child. He is definitely all puppy. But I do have to say he is very beautiful and very curious. He's not liking the crate at the moment. He wants OUT to play with all those new playmates. Maybe in the morning we'll try. He's gotta be stressed after such a long day. To much to soon may not be a good thing. My boxer girl isn't helping though. She's lying in front of the crate trying to figure out how to break him free. It's quite cute. Will post more to the website tomorrow. From Roscoe's Transporters:
