6/7/07 - I
just wanted to thank everybody that helped us pick
and receive Brody. We
absolutely love him, he couldn't be better. As some of you
know we picked him up last Sunday from Ronnie and took him to our
home. So far we had one episode where he got a little bellyache, but
we think it was from us leaving him alone, he hasn't done it since
then. He loves to play with other dogs, while we're walking at the
park, and he has met the entire crowd at the park on Saturday
mornings. He loves everyone of them. In fact we have to drag him
away, he would never leave if he could. He's getting better about
the cats too, a little hiss is all he needs to realize they don't
wanna play now. Well we just wanted to thank you all
for helping us with with everything. Thanks again 5/27/07 -
Brody has been adopted 5/24/07 - Brody is pending adoption 5/4/07 - Sorry for the space between my updates. Brody is doing great. He is really a sweet boy. He still doesn't sit much and is very reluctant to learn. However, he will stand and be very patient and wait his turn for cookies, treats or knowing that he is last to go out to go potty. Brody needs a strong leader, someone who knows how to handle a dominate boy. He isn't hard to deal with but I believe given the opportunity he would take over as alpha. We have fallen in love with him! Everyone who comes into our house loves him. He'll walk up and "whump" all of the sudden there is this huge head in your lap. He looks at you with these huge amber colored eyes and you can tell they just say...luv me! He is sooo sweet and such a big ol' mush!! There will be many tears when this boy finds his forever home. Our loss will certainly be his forever family's gain! The weather is suppose to be beautiful this weekend so I will try and get some new pictures for his webpage. He's such a handsome boy!!!! 4/25/07 - Just wanted to let those Brody fans out there know that he is doing very well. He has gained 4.2 pounds since being here with us. It's nice to see him filling out and showing less bone. He is continuing to come out of his shell and becoming more social. He still is not sitting so I brought him to the vet just to be checked out. The vet decided we would try anti-inflammatory meds to see if it makes a difference or not. I'll keep you updated on his progress with that. Otherwise he is doing quite well, his food aggression isn't as bad, he seems to know that he will be fed just like everyone else. I can now give all three dogs "cookies" in a group instead of keeping them separated by a gate, so that's good news. I still feed him in another room but we are going to try and slowly work it so they will be in the same room. He sends his love to everyone!! 4/15/07 - Brody continues to do well he is starting to play with us and is working up to playing with the other two dogs. When you say his name he now knows you're talking to him. He is very loyal, doesn't get on furniture (except for the bed), and doesn’t chew toys. He will make some family very very happy. He is eagerly awaiting the arrival of his forever family. Send in the applications for this sweet fur baby! 4/9/07 - Please excuse the delay in updating Brody. We are still working on socializing him. With lots of TLC and going slow he is starting to want to play. He really wants to be in the room with you but he is still slow to relax. He will lay down but never sit. He's always ready to jump and run. If there is a noise he jumps and looks around in a panic. Poor baby, he really is sweet! When he lays down he doesn't really relax. He is most comfortable sleeping in the crate at night. We did let him sleep in the boy’s room on blankets on the floor and he did great, but he sleeps deeper and more relaxed in the crate. I'm sure that with time he will learn to relax but for now we are keeping him in the crate where he is most relaxed. No accidents in the house at all....ever! (let’s knock on wood just to be safe)! His only negative issue is if there is food around and another dog he gets possessive of the food. We feed them separately. I can take food away from him or out of his mouth and he's fine but NOT on of my other dogs. This boy really wants a forever family to love. He does like being around the kids but I don't let them get wild when he is out and about. With his nervousness I think he's better off when things are more on the calm side. He has not chewed one thing but I think that’s due in part to the fact the poor guy doesn't even know what a toy is. 3/31/07 - I would like to take this opportunity to introduce my new foster baby, Brody. Brody was delivered on Friday, 3/30/07, to my front door thanks to the shelter where he made his home for the last two weeks. My first impression was that he is very thin and seemed to be a little depressed. His nub barely moved, and he just hung is head and looked at you with big sad brown eyes. We gave him his first dose of antibiotics and he did eat his dinner, which I was very glad to see. By this morning, he has perked up a little and his nub is moving more. We even got him to play with the laser light, he is totally adorable when he chases it. I've noticed him coughing a little and he nose is a tad on the runny side. He is eating well and is always looking for more. I will fill you in as more of his personality develops and come out. He's not had any accidents in the house....yet, lets keep our fingers crossed! I'll write more when I know more. The one thing that is a definite is that Brody is very sweet. All he wants is someone to love him, I don't think that's to much to ask. If you think you could give this boy all the love he needs, fill out and application and pick this boy for your new four legged family member. |
