5/5/07 - Lennox has been adopted.    What a Day!  Lennox left with his forever family.  They were very excited.  They were offered a five month old boxer puppy yesterday, but turned it down because they were so excited to get Lennox.  No time to miss him though,  The house was fosterless for about half and hour before our new foster arrived.

4/30/07 - Lennox is pending adoption

4/22/07 - Just wanted to give everyone a quick Lennox update.  He is doing great!  What a wonderful puppy Lennox has turned out to be!  All this boy wants to do is love and be loved… with the occasional wrestling match with his foster brother Murphy.  He has plenty of energy to spare.  We have taken him roller blading and jogging a couple of times now.  Each time he has jogged about five or six miles and it seems to wear him out.  However, after a quick nap he is ready to go again… trying to play or wrestle around.  Lennox has not been neutered yet.  Gary decided that our vet was just too pricy and will let us know when and where to take him.  We have found that Lennox is a rather healthy eater.  He enjoys carrots, celery, pineapple, sugar snap peas, and cantaloupe.  He is such a fantastic boy!

4/13/07 - Lennox has been with us for some time now and he is doing fantastic!  Simply put, this big ol boy wants to play and get affection!  More pics of him can be viewed at: http://picasaweb.google.com/BronsonFamilyPhotos/BARLennox
Lennox has found his place with the pack and seems to be enjoying his stay at our house and with are loving his visit.  It appears that he is smiling all the time.  His favorite activities include wrestling with his foster bulldog brother, chasing his boxer foster brother, playing fetch, and getting hugs from the people around him.  He has a tendency to get a little anxious when left alone.  If in the crate Lennox tends to paw at the crate, bark, and slobber all over his chest for about 20-30 minutes.  If left out of the crate he paces and whines but this seems to affect him for a much shorter time.
This past weekend took the pack to visit some extended family for the holidays.  Lennox had a wonderful time romping around the yard with the other dogs as well as playing with the kids (ages 9 and 7).  The kids were throwing balls and sticks for the dogs to fetch and Lennox is like an old pro.  He has learned quickly to come when called and is slowly but surely learning sit.  He did great while playing in the yard by sprinting back to us when called.  Whichever family is lucky enough to adopt him will need to continue to work on basic commands.  Due to his large frame and all his power his forever family will need to be good pack leaders.  This is a very sweet boy who tends not to know his own strength/size.
Yesterday at the vet Lennox weighed in at a skinny 54 lbs.  However the Vet stated that he could/should put on about 15 more pounds to fill out.  Also, the Vet stated that Lennox is a healthy and very happy dog.  The only health issue is the Pannus (ruptures on the corneas that leads to clouding) which affects his eyes.  The Vet really seemed to downplay the concern over the pannus.  He stated that pannus is something that dogs live with throughout their life.  After examining Lennox’s eyes the doc said his blockage/clouding does not look bad at all.  The Vet suggested finishing the current dose of meds and then let the dog determine future treatment by simply watching his eyes and behaviors.   He stressed to me that this is a minor problem/issue and Lennox is a very healthy dog.  He is scheduled to get neutered on Wednesday (4/18) morning.
After the vet visit yesterday I bought Lennox to campus to enjoy a quick walk in the rain and see how he did meeting all the new people.  When meeting new people Lennox tends to be a little shy.  However, after a few sniffs and pats on the head he begins to crawl into laps and deliver a barrage of wet kisses.  He tends to give as much affection as he receives!

4/1/07 - Boy-O-Boy has BAR found a superstar!  BAR received a gorgeous one-year old puppy yesterday.  We picked up Lennox and he has wiggled his way right into our pack.  He is an owner surrender from a family that felt “he was just too much” for them.  To be honest, Lennox is the definition of a Boxer!  Full of life and energy.  From the moment we picked him up until we put him to sleep all that he wanted to do was play, run, jump, and play some more.  Yesterday afternoon we walked Lennox with his foster brothers and sister.  After we burned off a little energy Lennox was walking like a pro.  He received many compliments from fellow path walkers.  Everyone praised him for his looks and how well behaved he was when he met people and other dogs.  Lennox has done great fitting in here with our pack.  He and his foster brother Buster enjoy chasing each other around the yard.  This big boy has the frame to grow and put on plenty of weight.  A medical concern of Lennox is that he suffers from pannus, which is an eye condition that requires eye drops twice daily and eye ointment once daily.  He takes both of them very well.  We know we won't have Lennox for very long.  A puppy this young, full of life and gorgeous is going to make some forever family extremely happy.

3/31/07 - Our new foster, Lenox arrived today.  We have already taken a long walk and he even helped me pull some weeds from the flower garden.  So far he seems to get along with other dogs great.  HE IS ALL BOXER PUPPY.  Beautiful, playful and smart.  He is gonna be fun to have around, but I'm sure it will be a short ride.
