5/20/07 - In the 6 weeks that we have had "Tulip" with us we have grown to love her and she has adapted wonderfully.  She is now known as "Tulley" (tool-ee) and has had the opportunity to meet other family members and their pets at our home.  She proved to be a gracious host until the activity level got too intense, at which time she took control and put the visiting dogs in their place.  Even though she was a lover to our human guests and managed to steal their hearts and was the center of attention.

Tulley has a large yard to patrol and she does so with my wife and I daily.  She sticks to us like glue, a very quiet glue!  She does not bark, but will give us a very low decibel "howl" when she needs attention.  In short....we are very happily in love with our "Tulley".  We hope that someone will read this and realize that these senior dogs are good investments;  a safe bet that your efforts will be rewarded with a loving, faithful addition to your family.  Thank you "Boxer Angels".

4/13/07 - It has been exactly one week since we brought "Tulip" home.  At first there seemed to be some dominance competition between "Tulip" and our JRT "DJ" (also a rescue pet).  We followed the excellent training process that the Foster Melissa demonstrated and found that within two days our two pets were getting on well.  What a relief!  We love "Tulip" immensely and find her to be an absolute charmer.  She displays love to us in so many ways.  We thank "Boxer Angels" for being there for "Tulip' and affording us the opportunity to provide a loving home for her and to enjoy her zany antics.

4/6/07 - Tulip has been adopted

4/3/07 - Tulip is pending adoption.

2/26/07 - Tulip is still doing wonderful here.  She is such an easy keeper and a joy to have around, but as much as I love her, she is still waiting for that perfect someone to come along to give her all the love and attention she craves.  I have some very exciting news to share with you...Tulip is now cat friendly!!!  I said before she couldn't go to a home with cats because she was just too fixated on them.  Once she was completely settled in and I established my place as the pack leader, I decided to work on the cat issue and to my surprise it didn't take long for her to warm up to them.  I think a lot had to do with that my cats are not afraid of her and didn't run away from her, so she didn't get that prey drive to chase.  She was very curious and pawed them to the floor a couple of times, but she was not being mean, and when I would tell her No she listened very well.  Now I even leave them alone together when I go to work and I think she likes the company while I'm gone.  I am very proud of her.  Tulip is a great listener and loves to please her humans.  I also recently got a Boston Terrier puppy for valentines day and she lets him crawl all over her and bite her neck, she just lays their and takes it.  I think she still has some mommy instincts from when she used to have babies of her own.  I am so proud of her and she gets better every day.  She still needs a good pack leader to remind her what's right and wrong when she is around other dogs, because she will always want to be the dominant one, but if you can handle that and want a beautiful (she is a head turner), laid back, but also playful boxer girl, this is the one for you.

1/22/07 - Tulip is still waiting for her forever home, won't someone consider this wonderful boxer girl.  She is such an upbeat, happy go-lucky girl.  She had a bath recently and she was a perfect angel (her coat is so soft and shiny) and she was great when I clipped her toe nails (better than my own dog :)). I bought her a new toy that grunts and it is so funny watching her play with it, when it grunts she makes noises back to it. She can keep herself occupied all by herself or loves to join it a game of fetch or tug of war.  She is also a huge love bug.  She loves attention and to be kissed and cuddled.  She is so friendly with everyone and loves kids.  If you want a watch dog, this is not the dog for you :)  The only, I guess you could say "quirk", she has is her wanting to be dominant over other dogs.  She has been dominant toward my female boxer and a couple of other dogs, but she listens very well when I correct her.  I feel she would be happiest as an only dog or in a home with another submissive dog and an owner that will be a good pack leader. Well, with that said, there's not much more I can say about her other than she is wonderful and get your applications in, you don't want to miss out this great girl.

12/27/06 - Here are some pictures of Tulip.  Sorry it took me so long to get them to you.  Tulip is doing great.  She is an awesome dog.  She is getting along great with my boxer, but she can be dominant over other dogs and needs a home with someone who can be a good pack leader, if they have another dog.  It took aprox. a week for her to completely warm up to my dog.  She is not good with cats, she thinks they are toys she can chase and pounce on.  I do not trust her with my cats at all, she's doesn't seem to be being mean, but she is too fixated on them.  She is very friendly with other people and children.  She also loves toys and can keep herself occupied by playing with toys all be herself, it's so funny.  Tulip is completely house trained and is also great in a crate.  She is going to make a great addition to someone's family.
