6/26/08 - Everything is great. Maggie is such a good girl. She and Mugsy have gotten along good from
the moment they met. Neither one have had a growl or a bad moment together. At first they just ignored
each other for about 1 day. But, on Sunday we went to the farm and they both ran and played together
all day. Maggie wasn't scared of the cows until a baby turned around and chased her. It was so funny,
we were laughing so hard that we were crying. She also got along with my mother in laws shepard.
He's and old guy also so they all had fun. Let me tell you she came home and slept good that night.
She will not eat any dry food so we just gave up and are giving her the canned food. No big deal,
because Mugsy can only have soft foods and Maggie is happy to eat what she is having. She
knows the routine around here pretty good. Every morning Brad lets them out at 5:30 and they get to run
for about 1 hour. She just follows Mugsy and has not left the property. When he leaves he puts the collars
on them and they hang out outside until the kids go to school. Let me tell you that the minute she hears
them walk out the door she is yapping to get in. They hang out with me until noon and then they go and lay
in the sun for the afternoon. She is really smart and has learned the wireless collar quick. She will not
pass the flags and if she comes close and the collar gives a warning beep she turns and walks away. Both
of the girls sleep together at night. You can find them curled up together on the loveseat. Maggie
seems to have an upset tummy and eats a lot of grass. So I have been giving her a pepsid a/c and it seems
to help a lot. Yesterday she didn't eat any grass at all. The first night she wouldn't let the cat out of
her site but, now she doesn't even pay attention to her at all. She is taking Mugsy's lead on that. We are
soooo impressed that she has fit in so good. She is learning the house rules quickly and has
caused no problems at all. She knows exactly when the kids are done with dinner because her and Mugsy
both sit in the kitchen and watch me fit them an after dinner snack. She learned that one really quick. I
will kept you posted, but it feels like she has been here forever.
6/22/08 - Maggie has been adopted.

6/16/08 - Maggie is pending adoption

5/25/08 - Maggie girl has had a busy week. My granddaughter and her little sister were here the entire
week. She spent all her time with the girls. I have some new and adorable pictures to have put on her
site. I think the pictures speak for her and how it all went.

5/4/08 - Maggie is doing very well. She is running more in the yard and seems more flexible. The
glucosamine/chondroitin seems to be working pretty well for her. All three dogs are getting along
very well. She is still a pretty quiet girl and loves her naps. She also knows her meal times and awaits
them anxiously. If she is in her crate and wants to go out she will give a quick bark. Same thing if
she is outside and ready to come in. Just one quick bark. She appears to like the outdoors. Maggie
 Mae is still a sweetie.

4/25/08 - Mags is doing wonderfully. This week she transitioned with the 11 month old
puppy. Huge shepard. They no longer need to be separate. So it looks like Maggie girl can
be around a cat once she is used to it and a rambunctious pups. She keeps getting better.
Maybe this next week she can make my bed for me. That's all for now.

4/21/08 - Here is a surprise update on Maggie girl. We went away again this weekend to
the home with the cat. On Sunday morning someone had let the cat in and we didn't know it.
Well Maggie Mae walked right over to him and licked his head. From that point on she cried
and barked and whined at the cat because he wouldn't play with her. He totally ignored her.
So maybe with the right introduction and supervision she would be okay with cats. She
continues to be a sweetheart.

4/3/08 - This weekend was a huge test on Maggie Mae. My granddaughter and her family
came to stay the weekend. She is 5 and her baby sister is under a year old. Well Mag Pie
did wonderfully. She just loved the baby to pieces. She has to be in the same room with her.
As the weekend progressed my grandson came over also and he is 8. She loved having all
the kids here. She didn't know who to lick first. The baby loved her and would lay on her and
hold her paw. So as she is only crawling and not walking I would say Mags is great with little
ones. When they headed out the door to go home she wanted to leave with them. She is one
great girl.

3/24/08 - Maggie is doing great.  I call her Maggie Mae and Magpie... she is so sweet.
Maggie is running more, enjoying the outside and seems to be coming more agile and limber.
I have been giving her glucosamine and chondroitin and the dietary supplement biotin everyday.
Maggie has been responding beautifully it is nice to see her more active and having fun.
Maggie is settled in and feeling at home  She and my boxer Tony can often be seen laying on each
end of the couch snoozing.  Maggie has our daily routine down in the morning she goes outside, comes
in for breakfast and then back outside.    She will be able to enjoy outside more as the weather gets
warmer.   Maggie is obedient and eager to please...   she knows our routine so well that I don't even
have to tell her....she automatically walks over and gets in her crate.  Maggie is happy to see me when
I return from work.. she is full of boxer wiggles.
Maggie would benefit from having a home with an experienced leader.  She loves children and can be
protective of them.   Maggie would do well in a home with gentle children.
Maggie is a laid back, mellow girl and if she were to live with another dog she would prefer another her
own age.. or older.  Maggie gets along wonderful with my male Boxer they are like bookends.   Maggie
Mae has all of the wonderful qualities that we love about Boxers. She is a very sweet, loveable girl.

3/19/08 - Maggie's surrendering family said that she was good with cats, but now we have done our own testing and find that she is NOT good with them.  From her foster Mom:  She does not like cats.  She will stare and stare and stare and then pounce on it.  When they take the cat upstairs and put him in a room she tries to go up and wait by the door. We have to keep her attention elsewhere.  So, no cats for Maggie's new forever home!

3/18/08 - Maggie girl is doing splendidly. She is just a sweetie. Well with one exception, she is way to friendly with cats, like maybe they could be a great chew toy. She absolutely adores children and wants to give them lots of kisses. She likes to think she is the watch dog. She barks like she is all it and when they get in the house she is all wiggles and kisses. Some weekends we drive 70 miles to visit friends and she sleeps all the way. Her ears are all better. She is slowly gaining weight.  All is good. I can't ask you all to put in applications for her cause honestly she is soooo good she can stay as long as she wants. How can anyone resist this girl.

3/3/08 - Maggie is doing great. Her ears are so much better and she has improved letting me put the drops in her ears.  I have been giving her glucosimine and she runs outside in the snow. She is perfectly content to just sleep curled up somewhere.  She is independent enough to go in any room to do this even if you are not there. She continues to eat well. Loves her treats.

2/25/08 - Maggie went to the vet and has double ear infections. She is on meds for the next two weeks.  She has some arthritis in her hips.  Other than that she is doing great.  She loves children. She followed my 8 year old grandson around the house all weekend and wanted to lay next to his feet whenever he sat down. She has put on 7 very needed pounds and am sure it won't be long before she is at a good weight.  She is a true sweetheart.

2/13/08 - Maggie girl is doing very well.  She will be going to the vet on Friday. I took she and Tony last weekend to a friends house for the weekend and she loved everyone from the minute she walked in the door. She had kisses for anyone that was at her level. They wanted to keep her they enjoyed her so much. She is a good girl. You just have to make sure there is no food out on counters, table at her reach or garbage uncovered. I catch her once in a while trying to move the lid. I clap my hands and tell her no and she goes on her way. I guess she figures its worth a try.  I do crate her when I am not home and she has freedom around the house when I am home. She is eating very well but needs to put some weight on so she gets extra.  She is content to curl up with or without you and is very quiet. The only time she ever barks is if mine does.  I would say she is the easiest foster I have ever had. She likes riding in the car too and rides very well. Will update after her vet visit.  Looks like she may have an infection in one eye, its pretty red and one ear is bothering her. She will be ship shape in no time.

2/6/08 - Maggie has been with us for four days now and she is doing very well. She is a quiet girl.  She  and Tony get along without any problems at all.  She is not a velcro dog so far. She will curl up on  the love seat all by herself and not a peep from her. She hasn't taken to any toys yet.  She is great outside. She will not come back to the door until she has accomplished what she went out for.
She is on the thin side but hopefully I can fix that. She is eating without a hitch.  Doesn't like the male puppy (9 months old) at all when he comes to visit. (large Shepard) He is way to rambunctious for her and he had the nerve to investigate her dish of food while she was in the crate. Not a good start to a lasting friendship. So I would suggest she not be placed with any puppies. I  feel she will be fine with other dogs that are pretty laid back.

2/3/08 - I picked Maggie up in Canajohari and she is home safe and sound.  She was very good in the car, curled right up and went to sleep.  When we came into the house Tony was loose and he came running right up to her like they were long lost friends. She was fine with him.  I am crating her for a few days so she can adjust. I let her out to roam a bit here an there. She is used to people food and does not hesitate to look on the table for food.  She does get done with persistence.  She doesn't react to her name and is pretty quiet. She has been going out no problem and take her treats very nicely.  We will see as she adjusts and I can get to see her personality more.  She seems really sweet.

2/2/08 - Maggie from MA has arrived safe and sound here in Troy. Marco is so happy to have a boxer buddy in the house. Maggie will be staying with us till Sunday then she is on her way to Rome to be fostered by Sandy. Although the weather around here wasn't very nice to us we all made it and I am glad we could help her.
