5/14/08 - Rocky2 is pending adoption

4/21/08 -   Rocky had a very exciting weekend so I thought I would share it so everyone could see how wonderful he is.
On Saturday we went to my parents house and he played nicely with their boxers (8 yrs & 3 yrs).  We drove to NJ & back with my 8 year old nephew and Rocky was a perfect car companion.  On Sunday we were invited to play in a 2 acre fenced in area with 2 St. Bernards, 2 boxers, my dog and some kids.  The introductions went great so off the leash he went.   Rocky was able to run at full speed around the perimeter of the two acres.   Everyone was in awe of how fast he could go.   He asked the other dogs if they want to play but they wouldn’t so he entertained himself by running, bouncing and exploring the area.   He was great with all the kids (3, 4, 6, 8 & 9 years old).  He also was a gentleman during dinner (no table surfing or begging).  As you can see by the latest pictures he is exhausted today.    I can’t say enough about this wonderful boy.   I have only had him for a few days but I think his ideal home is one with a fenced in yard, with another dog to play with or at least someone who will play with him, someone who enjoys a good walk, and will let him have car rides once in awhile.

4/20/08 - Rocky2 is an awesome boxer.  He gets along with other dogs and kids.  He can have free
roam of the house and is completely house broken.  He isn’t food aggressive.  He is very playful either
with toys or other dogs.  He listens well.  He pulls a little on a leash but not on a harness and can walk
2 miles without being tired.   He was great in the car today.    I also cat tested him today.  He was really
curious and at first it seemed as if he was going to hurt them (he was on a leash).  When the cats came
over to rub up against him all he did was sniff them and cry.   Right now he is laying next to one and both
are sleeping.  But he is not perfect with them because if they run he will chase them but as soon as the
cat stops he just sniffs them.  He is a little shy with new experiences:   he was afraid of the car radio
being ,  a motor cycle driving by, the water hose and the vacuum.

4/19/08 - Rocky just left with his new foster mom. I think he's going to enjoy his stay there, and he'll have
extra individualized attention, rather than having to share with so many other 'housemates'.
Rocky's been a real pleasure to have around, and I hope his forever family will find him soon.

4/15/08 - Rocky did very well on his camping trip this weekend. He was such a good boy for the ride
in the car which was 2 hours. He loved all of our friends that joined us. He is walking well on a leash
and I have worked with crating him in case the new owners would like to do that. He is now going
into the crate without a fight. He loves my children and gets so excited when he sees the school
bus bringing them home. He does demand a lot of lovin so he would be a great "only dog". He is
a beauty so get those apps in.

4/10/08 - Just a quick note to let everyone know that the alliance van delivered Rocky to me today.
He is a handsome fawn boxer with a great personality.  Rocky met my boxers and was eagerly
greeted without a problem.
Rocky loves to snuggle and give lots of sloppy boxer kisses.  He is great with kids.   Rocky has been
gentle with my children and has already romped around the yard with my daughter.
Rocky is completely house trained and goes to the back door when he wants to go out to do his business.
He walks fair on the leash but I will work with him and get him perfect for his forever home.   He is a
little on the thin side but seems to have a good appetite so he will gain some needed weight.   Rocky
likes to be groomed.  I spent time brushing him and he really enjoyed it.
Rocky rides well for in a car.  The mayors alliance said he was a pleasure to transport.  Rocky is going
camping this weekend with us and I will let all know how he does.  I will get some pictures this weekend
and get them posted.
