6/18/10 - Thank you so much for all you've done.  Blossom has completed a nice transition into our home; Sampson(our 5yo male boxer) and she get along very well now after a focused effort on our part.  We followed the BAR directions and it all worked out very well.  We are so pleased to have had the opportunity to adopt such a beautiful animal!

6/5/10 - Blosson has been adopted

5/26/10 - Blossom is pending adoption

5/14/10 - Blossom has really loved the few days that Rochester weather has shown sunshine.  She has come out and run around the yard while we have done yard work.  She seems to find yard work fascinating!  We have also found that the name blossom actually comes into play when she sees flowers.  While taking photos of the flowers, blossom came to join us, she approached the flowers slowly.  Before we knew it she was trying to play with them, almost attaching them.  It appears she wanted to be the only "blossom" in the house.  We then got her and Jake playing, which was a lot of fun especially without the constraints of being inside the house.  On behavioral issues, I would like to state she appears to be getting much better.  She has been given more freedom within the house.  She was originally always wearing her leash, so she could be corrected immediately or grab her if she wandered into areas she shouldn't be.  However, she has been wearing it less and less in the house.   Blossom is great at playing with her toys in the same room as you, and will just stay there for the most part.  However, she is known for destroying any toy she is given.  Stuffed animals see no mercy with Blossom!  If you are one that likes a clean house, I would suggest toys with no stuffing, and very hard rubber.  She does love her Kong toys, but even those have been casualties to her teeth.  You also need to watch her when playing with them; she tends to swallow the pieces of rubber.  Now that Blossom is on a strict schedule for the day, her potty training has gotten much better.  She is typically ready by 6:30-7am to go outside.  If she doesn't go right away, it is best to be patient, this way she doesn't take it out on the house.  We also get home around 5pm and take her out immediately and then again before bed between 10-11pm.  Blossom really has been a delightful dog!  She brings joy to our lives every day, and Jake LOVES the company.  Anyone that is looking for an energetic ball of life, which loves to cuddle, will be equally blessed to have her in their lives.

4/23/10 - Because of some personal changes in his life, Blossom's FTA dad can not adopt her so she is now available for adoption.

4/11/10 - Blossom is pending adoption

3/18/10 - Blossom had her vet checkup on Wednesday. She seems to be in very good health and was very excited to be at the vet's. She has not gained any weight back yet, but she does appear to be filling out visually. The vet commented that she should easily gain 5lbs so we will increase her food daily even more! People in the waiting room were amazed just how fast she was wagging her tail. It was very cute how excited and happy she was just sitting in the waiting room.  She is continuing to have some problems with potty training in the house, but does know to look for tile or hard floor when she needs to go. We are trying to familiarize her with letting us know she needs to go outside and hopefully she will completely catch on soon. Blossom knows how to sit and shake and we have begun to learn that she is not deaf at all, but just has very selective hearing!! She loves her food since we think she never knew when her next meal would be and has no problem eating a full meal whenever presented to her. She continues to do very well on walks and does not pull, or stray off of the sidewalk. Blossom LOVES to play with people and toys whether they are Jake's or hers. She plays sometimes too much with her teeth, but when that occurs we give her her Kong and she will sit and chew on it even when there is nothing inside for hours. She also loves her tug rope and will pull and pull if you allow her to. She will play for about a full hour and then will realize that she is tired :) After she calms down she will melt onto the floor, in your lap, or wherever she can find a nice comfortable place to rest. She loves our other boxer Jake and always wants to play with him, but we need to continue to supervise at this point because she gets a little rough and/or Jake wants nothing to do with her at the time. She continues to have some problems with separation and continues to detest her crate during the day. We have had to reinforce the walls so that she does not escape, but since doing that she has not escaped and has begun to learn to sleep and relax with her Kong in the crate. She will bark and whine immediately when she is put in her crate but will stop after about 15 minutes. The only other problem that she is having is jumping on people and staying still. We have left her leash on at all times just so we have a little extra time to catch her if she decides she wants to explore or if she attempts to jump on anyone. Other than the few issues noted, she continues to be very loyal to the people around her and does well in the home. She definitely needs more training and would do well in an experienced home with older children.

2/23/10 - Blossom has now been in our home for just over a week.  She is a very energetic and lovable dog, with a lot of puppy still in her.  She really enjoys the company of our other dog Jake, and is constantly trying to engage him in a game of tug-a-war or nudging him to play.  She has also been a complete joy to take on walks.  There has been no need for correction, because she doesn't pull or try to wander off the path.   While she constantly wants to play, she does know how to self entertain or calm down with directed instruction.  Blossom is a great cuddlier, but if you don't allow dogs on furniture she will need this type of training.  She will climb right into your lap with no hesitation or try to get on a bed. She also tries to be as close to Jake when they are both lying together, simply adorable.,    While Blossom is a great dog, there are a few areas that need some work.  She has had some troubles adjusting to the house.  She has had multiple accidents in the house, which we are working hard to correct immediately.  Blossom also has major separation anxiety, which has lead to issues with crating her during the day.  She really struggles with being in the crate, and works really hard to be "free".  Blossom would do best in a home that has someone home consistently during the day.  The other trouble Blossom is having is the need to always explore. She consistently is trying to find things to get into, play with, or search.

2/16/10 - Blossom has been in at our house for two days and is doing great.  While she is not fully trained, she shows many signs of previous training.  Blossom does know sit and shake, and minus a few accidents (which is to be expected) she appears to be house broken.  While it was previously assumed she was deaf, Blossom appears to only be partially deaf because she recognizes different voice pitches and tones.  Blossom has also spent a great deal of the past two days becoming acquainted with our other boxer Jake.  She is very playful and really seems to enjoy the company of another dog.  The only issue she has currently is being left alone in her crate.  She willingly goes in her crate, but due to separation anxiety, does not deal well with being left alone.
