5/9/10 - So this Mother's Day is bitter sweet for me! Sierra has just left for Rhode Island with her new dad! He seems great and I know Sierra will be well taken care of and loved so, so much! We are going to miss her very much here in NH, but are comforted by the fact that Sierra is going to a veteran BAR adopter! She will have a new big sister dog to play with as well as a new human sister to love her! Best wishes to Sierra and her new family! We love you so much, Sierra! Thanks to BAR for everything. Our lives have been fulfilled so much since being introduced to you! Tom, Tricia, Cole and Alayn 5/6/10 - Sierra is pending adoption 3/28/10 - Sierra is feeling all better now! She is eating well, but way too smart when it comes to taking her meds! She can sniff them out of anything! So, I have to do the "shove 'em down her throat" method! hahaha We will all be happy when she's done with the antibiotics. She has become fond of one of the kids bath toys. Its a blue whale and it squeaks, so we got her a bigger "hot digity dog" squeaky toy and she has been having a blast with that outside. She loves to be out playing in the yard. She really gets around. She has been pulling a bit on the leash and needs to be reminded to "walk nice". She really tries to do right by us and wants nothing more than to be in her people's company. She is such a sweet girl! She will make any family complete! A VERY easy girl to have around! 3/21/10 - Sierra has been with us for 1 week, and it has been a busy week at that! She has been sick with pneumonia and/or kennel cough and has been in and out of the vets all week. That being said, Sierra is feeling MUCH better!!!! She is only coughing a little bit and her appetite is picking up! She was a very good patient and the vet and her staff enjoyed Sierra's company as well. In fact they let her stay out with them in the office. :) She was a well behaved boxer girl! We are really enjoying her here with us. Everyday she makes us smile and shows us how appreciative she is to have a family to love her! I have to admit, she has taken over part of my couch. I just couldn't tell her "no" any more, especially with her not feeling good. She needed some extra comfort! ;) Sierra continues to do her business outside and she does very well in her crate. She gives out a bark or two when someone is at the door but that seems to be the only time she makes any noise. All in all, she is a very easy dog to have. We are really enjoying her being here.xoxo 3/15/10 - So this is day 2. Sierra has started eating and she doesn't like just kibble so I have been adding in some baby food to entice her. She is also a dog who enjoys the couch. She has no problem jumping up whenever she wants to! She gets right off though when we tell her to. She does very well in her crate and continues to do her business outside. At this point I'm going to say DEFINATELY no cats! My cat got out of my son's room and she went flying after him. She was on the hunt and it took all I had to get her out of the room and into her crate so I could rescue my cat. After my cat was secured I let Sierra out and she hadn't forgotten what she was after! She was still going crazy looking for the cat! Aside from that, she really is a great girl. Very sweet with my children and a big love with Tom and I. She has the softest fur and her tongue is too long for her mouth so a part of it is always hanging out, especially when she is laying down!!!
3/14/10 - Well, Sierra came to us last night all the way from S.I
NY. She was a bit nervous getting off the van but she was happy to meet
her foster family! She has been a bit nervous throughout the day but
seems to relax once all is calm in the house. She likes my kids and
LOVES my husband. They have become fast friends! She hasn't been too
interested in eating so I'm hoping she will change her mind soon. She
has been a good girl and has done all of her business outside. She seems
to do well on the leash, too. All around she is a great gal! We are
really enjoying her. The one thing I would caution against, is to keep
her away from cats. She was very focused on our cat last night and
wanted to get at her, so as it stands now, my son has a new roomate!!
;) We are going to try and keep them seperated and will do so until
Sierra shows us something different! |
