8/09 - Hi, just wanted to let you know that Nana is doing very well she is a sweet heart as every, this is daddys girl, she loves people and other animals and is very playful with them especially small children she wants to play with them although I am cautious only with children I do not know.  She doesn't like when you have a loud conversation, she sits herself on the couch straight up, you have to reassure her that everything is alright. She LOVES LOVES going into the car and sitting in the front seat, she loves walking to. I have enlcosed and updated picture. She loves cleaning her brother Jake (boxer boy 6 1/2 years old) face and ears just like a little mommy. When you come home from work she jumps and hops around like a bunny rabbit she is so happy.  she does not like to play fetch at all can never get her to that, she will play with her brother when he has it but once you take it out of his mouth she wants nothing to do with it.  Could never figure that one out.  Keep you updated.

1/31/08- Just surfing the web and looked on your site again, wanted to let you know that nana is doing very
well and is a very happy and healthy 70 lb little girl who loves to still sleep with you and loves to keep her brother jakes ears clean as a whistle as she licks them to death.  she loves to go in the car and loves to sit in the front seat with her chest out like she is the boss.  she jumps in circles when you come home from work and loves to lick your skin off your face when you come home.  although she loves the outdoor she loves to take walks but she still refuses to run after  ball she loves exercise from the bleachers (spectator not a player) although her brother is very
sportsman like, nanny is a spoiled little princess who now live by the beach so she can relax more often. keep up the good work

2/11/06 - We just wanted to say hi nana is extremely well. she is a great part of our family. she seems to really love our other boxer Jake. she has always been quite motherly she will lick you till your skin comes off. Jake seems to enjoy the att. he gets from her. we are very happy we decided to adopt her after the short fostering. so long for now.

12/2/04 - So sorry for the lapse in update nana is extremely well.  as we speak she is on the couch listening to christmas music, she is tired from making holiday cookies.  nana is a great family member she believes she is at home now it has taken some time i think we set her back alittle because of moving.she is quite healthy and continues to gain some weight i think she is about 52 lbs.we did find out she has a little problem with her hips.she and jake really care for each other they eat sleep play and fight together ,they are seemingly inseprable.its something to see when nana licks his face as if to say i love you.she is quite a little girl and mommy.she loves to give kisses and hugs she stands on her rear legs and puts her paws over your shoulders.well i have to give them thier marrow bones now.nana says keep up all the good work that you do .

9/17/04 - nana is the sweetest little girl.actually she is not so little she has gained some weight i think she is about 50 pounds now.she has really become a great part of our family.she and jake have become inseparable.she is very smart.she is very much loved here,it really is great having her.she and jake love to run in the back yard she gets plenty of exersise.she loves to take a bath all i do is open the door to the bathroom she runs and leaps into the tub.it is quite a site to see.she just sits there while you bath her, like a queen.she is well fed but she mostly just likes her pm meal, then she waits for her dessert we usually give them fruit like apples, nectarine or melon w/ an
occasional oatmeal or oreo cookie.usually she is in bed waiting for anita, jake and i.well now it is apple time so i must go the queen is waiting.our regards to everyone at angels you are truly blessed for the important work you do

7/27/04 - hi to all at bar from nana.she continues to do well.she eats well although not much in the am.she isnt really a morning dog.she sleeps really soundly.nana is a real all around good girl, although she is quite headstrong.nana loves to run in the yard after her pal jake.they play outside for quite sometime especially on the weekend.she loves marrow bones,we get them from the market, then roastythem.they keep both dogs busy for hours.i recomend them to everybody.after they clean them out we put peanut butter in side.well we just wanted to say hi and keep up the good work.we will keep intouch

6/22/04 - Nana is doing just fine. She is very sweet and cuddly, she also is a very tough cookie, she takes no grief from her pal Jake. Nana does get a little crazy at times, she and Jake do get a little rough I think but even our vet says what they do is normal. When I get home they go crazy w/ hugs and kisses their little backsides wiggle so fast I don't believe it, she also does the same thing when my wife comes in. She eats well, dry food w/ applesauce or yogurt, she also gets quite a bit of healthy snacks apples ,peaches carrots peanut butter etc, we try to stay away from store treats. She still only weighs 43 /44 lbs, the vet said it is her metabolism right now. She sleeps w/ Anita ,me and Jake in our bed. Nana loves to play take away w/ her pal no matter how or what he has she takes it away and runs. Jake will chase the ball come running back and there is nana in one fell swoop she takes it. She is quite smart and has mastered all basic commands however her performance is only as good as she feels like pleasing you that moment. We have moved to a new house and we are teaching her to stay close to us in a fenced area so far she is performing well we love Nana a great deal and will continue to keep you all updated.

5/27/04 - Hi all, nana is doing fine. I think she believes she has a family, a place to stay for a long time. I really feel good when I leave for work Nana ,Jake and Anita are all on the bed sleeping they seem so happy. Then Anita gets them up for breakfast.  Nana eats right along side her pal Jake. We are excited to be moving soon, Nana and Jake really like the property too.  Nana is still quite mouthy but we think it will pass with time, by the same token she is quite loving.  We all hope things are well
with all the rescue dogs.  WE BELIEVE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT WORK THAT YOU DO.  THESE DOGS DESERVE BETTER.

4/27/04 - Nana is developing into a great addition to our family.  Sometimes she gets a little wacky.  She is great friends w/ Jake.  Sometimes we catch her cleaning him, she licks his head and face it is very cool to see.  Hopefully they will start some training soon. I think they will both enjoy it.  Nana loves to give hugs and sit on the couch w/ us.  She is a wonderful girl.

4/13/04 - Nana is doing extremely well. Anita has taught her to speak on command but it has been a struggle. We really think she is now comfortable here with her new family. She is 100% housebroken and we will continue to train her and sometime in the near future start some formal training. We are very happy that we will be moving to a house with a large property so that Nana and Jake will have the run of the place. We find that this breed must have plenty of both physical and mental exercise to be fulfilled. Nana says thanks to all that have helped her, Anita and I say that everyone should adopt a pet.

4/10/04 - Nana is doing well.  She and Jake get along better as time passes.  Jake is getting les jealous of Nana and she is no longer crated at all.  They stay together when no one is at home.  She lobes to go to the park since the weather has improved.  Nana is a great little girl.

4/7/04 -Nana continues to become a domesticated pet.  She shows quite a lot of love to everyone.  She shakes, barks and wiggles when anyone comes home.  She and Jake are now gated in the kitchen while no one is home, only because they bury bones in our couch and try digging them out of leather and we are now docking their allowance to pay for a new one {like they could afford it on their salary} Nana is getting very good at holding her business till she goes out and the 2 of them keep us quite busy.  Nana and Jake are telling me they want to go sit on the porch with me and Anita so from Staten Island we all say so long for now.

4/03/04 - We are confident that Nana is going to be a wonderful addition to our family. She seems more comfortable each day. However, it is evident that she has some issues that we have to work on. I thing that she will do better here as we have adult kids who help us correct wrong behavior and praise Nana and Jake all the time. The both sometimes get a little too playful and head strong. We will continue to keep you updated.

4/1/04 - Nana is doing well. She was under the weather for a bit. We have decided to keep her as she is a good girl who needs a permanent home. She will receive a lot of love from our family. She continues to gain weight and will also be attending some training classes with Jake as soon as we feel she can trust us not to leave or abandon her. She still has some issues that have to be resolved. She still will not speak on command and our vets say that she needs more time to adjust. She and Jake are in the first stages of developing an amicable relationship. Nana says thank you to all that have helped her in the past.

3/31/04 - Nana has been adopted by her foster family.

3/30/04 - Nana is pending adoption.

3/25/04 - Hello from New York says Nana, AKA Petunia.  Things are well.  She is gaining weight, but we think she had some stomach concerns as we found a diet plan in her crate.  Nana really hasn't had any accidents though.
She and Jake play/fighty all the time.  We think they enjoy it.  They are loud and I couldn't even watch American idol last night.
We continue to work on some basic commands.  Nana has graduated to sleeping with us and Jake, yes, it is overly crowded in the bed, but we feel she needs it.  He has had a hard life so far.  So long now from Nana, Jake, Anita and Rick.

3/22/04 - Nana is doing well.  I think she likes it here.  She seems to adapt well.  We think she is gaining weight and she is trained to go outside for her business.  She goes to the back door and waits, when she comes
out of her crate she heads straight out.  We feel confident enough, so we brought her upstairs with us when we go to bed.  We think she was hit or abused in someway as we notice that if we are playing with a toy and
motion to throw it for her to get she cowers down.  We also are having trouble making her speak.  She barks and growls, just not on command.  It is peculiar, she has all other commands down ,we will continue trying.  She is a very good pup.
She loves to play, the 2 of these kids keep us very busy, we went from a very quiet life to high energy.  Nana will make a great pet.

3/18/04 - NaNa is doing well here in our home.  She has a lot of energy.  She and Jake are constantly playing, arguing, sleeping and eating.  I am constantly telling them to knock it off.  She seems to be adjusting to her situation.  She and Jake were out on Sat. past with us all day in NJ looking for a new house.  She is very sociable with people in general.  She walked around at a friends house.  The yard is big and she just looked around like a tourist (She just needed a camera)  She walks well on a leash with only some pulling.  NaNa loves to ride in the car.  She and J just stare out the rear window or sleep on one another.  She will make a great additional to any family.  You will receive a wiggle and hug every time you return to her.  NaNa is very smart.  She is doing quite well with learning some commands.  She is very anxious to please us.  She works hard at it, little does she know she just needs to sit there and look at you.  She is crafty, working her magic.  The whole family is under the Sirens song and they just keep saying you have to just keep her.

3/10/03 -  NaNa has been with us for four days now.  Jake our boxer who is one year old and NaNa rode home in the car very quietly and happy to be with one another.  When we got home Jake seemed to be somewhat territorial and fisty.  They get along well at times but Jake does give her kisses and she returns them.  She does defend herself when needed to put him in his place.  Nana loves to cuddly with you when Jake gives her the opportunity.  They eat nice together.  Nana is 90% housebroken. She stays in the crate all night and sometimes has an accident.  When you ask her to go outside she goes without hesitation and does her job.  She loves to greet you when you come home with the boxer wiggle and hugs.  She is very sweet and mellow and loves to cuddle with you.  I taught her to lay down when I had a piece of cheese in my hand she did that once.  She knows how to sit when asked or with sign language.  She gives paw but gets excited.  We are working on that.  She would be an asset to someone's home with a not so aggressive dog.  She gets along with everyone in my household and she would be good with small children.

3/6/04 - Nana is doing great here in our home. She is such a sweetheart of a dog and we love her already. She is fine with all the dogs, she just needs to learn how to play. She is very mellow for a boxer baby and just loves to be near you and have you cuddle with her.
She does needs work on house training so you have to be ready for accidents in the home.
She saw my cats tady and paid no attention to them what so ever. We are looking for a home for Nana to go to where she will be crated for no longer then 6 hours a day...being a pup she can't remain crated for a regular work day of 8 or more hours.
She will need someone who will work with her and take her out to be socialized in parks, stores and anywhere else she will run into people and other pets. If she doesn't get this, she seems like the type that will become aggressive with other dogs as she matures.  Although as sweet as she is
right now this is hard to believe.  Nana will also be required to attend obedience classes...this will be MANDATORY.
Nana is a super pup and with that little bit of extra help she will become an even better dog. If you can give Nana what she needs let us know...

2/29/04 - Nana has arrived at the Guardian Angel Boxer Haven for a brief stay. This girl is as sweet as sweet can get. She is a bit shy at first but warms up quickly.
She is not housetrained so will definitely need work in that area.
Nana is crated trained and doing well in that area with no accidents. She is getting along well with the other dogs in the home and doesn't bother with the cats.
She can be very playful but doesn't seem to know how to play with the other dogs in the home.
Nana is a very big snuggler and loves to cuddle with you on the couch...if you want a dog that does not go on the furniture then Nana is not for you.
She will be going in on Thursday to be spayed and brought up to date on her shots and then will be ready to go home.
