3/27/06 - Bailey was put down on March 17,2006. He was in great pain suffering from acute pancreatitus.
Bailey was a GREAT dog and my wife and I were so happy to have him our home. He will be truly missed.

4/24/04 - Bailey is doing GREAT. He is in excellent health and spends his days sleeping on all the furniture with his sister Murphy. They get a few goods runs outside running 7 barking at the deer & ground hogs. Late last summer they chased a black bear up a tree next to our back deck. After retiring to the family room the bear took a snooze before returning to the forest.  Bailey is a real buddy to my new grandchildren, very gentle and a big boxer kisser to all.

7/27/03 - Bailey is doing fine and has settled in fine. He is enjoying his summer either relaxing on a couch in air conditioning, or enjoying a cool breeze under the shade of the tree around the house. He & Murphy occasionally chase a deer, rabbit or tree a black bear as they did on Father's Day. Bear & dogs retired to take a nap, all are fine.

4/25/03-Bailey is in fine shape. He had a visit to the dig dentist on April 14th,5 extractions!! Started dog school on the 24th,made friends right off with a Mastiff.

3/29/03 - Bailey has had a very interesting month. He is enjoying running in the front & back yards, no frozen paws with the snow gone. Spent a week at the doggy motel with Murphy while we were on vacation. Dog training class starts 4/24 for six weeks, and Bailey is getting his broken tooth fixed on 4/9.

2/23/03 - Bailey has had a pretty good first month.  After being here a week we took him and his Boxer sister, Murphy, on a weekend trip to Virginia to attend our granddaughter's 1st birthday party. Bailey did very well in the car and at the party with all the babies & toddlers. He met Sunset my granddaughter's dog and got along just great. But on the second day just one hour before leaving for home Bailey left a Poo package in the family room to show how relaxed he was. Initially we put Bailey in a crate while my wife and I were at work, but during the second week he figured out out to pop the hook and latch and would get out, then he would celebrate his freedom with a poo party. We decided to leave him out of the crate and for the last two weeks he has done pretty good, with only a few accidents. While showering my wife and me with kisses he has made promises to stop leaving a calling card!! Bailey has been to the vet and has been given a clean bill of health, weighs 56.5 lbs. He will need dental work to remove a broken canine that he arrived here with. In April Bailey will be enrolled in his obedience classes, but he seems very well trained now, certainly he listens better than Murphy, but she has been raised like an Irish Princess.

1/27/03 - Well Bailey is completing his first week with his new boxer sister, Murphy, Forever Mom Rita and me his forever Dad.
He has been sleeping all through the night, his snoring has kept Rita & I a little restless.
Bailey's day starts at 6:00AM when he and Murphy go outback to make sure all the deer are done eating the bushes, then to the front yard to do the same. After this police work it is back inside for a big drink, of his medicine and then to jump onto the couch to catch up on more sleep.
Bailey has spent his last 4 days in the crate while Rita & Joe are at work, but today Bailey was left out of the crate with Murphy while no one was home. HE DID GREAT.
Tomorrow Saturday Bailey is off for a two day trip to the DC area to attend my grandaughters first birthday, plus meet her dog Sunset, who was rescued from a abusive home in Florida. She is very nice, but not a boxer.
Next week on Tuesday he is off to the Vet's for a check up, and to sign up for dog school.
Murphy goes to the doctor next week to have a couple lumps checked out.

1/20/02 - Bailey has been excellent. He and Murphy are best buds now, running around and jumping outside. This results in them both taking long naps side by side
on the various couches, they follow the sun.
He has been eating good, and there has been only one minor spritzing accident
the 2nd night. Rita now will remember not to give him a big drink before
bed, or he spritz's the basket in the bathroom.
He is a wonderful dog who snores!!

1/18/03 - Bailey has been adopted.

1/15/03 - Bailey is pending adoption.
They found me! My Forever Home called last evening to say that they want me to come home to New Jersey. I will have a 6 1/2 year old sister boxer named Murphy who is also a brindle. I can't wait! They're coming to get me on Saturday. I know I will be a little nervous my first few days but I will settle in quickly once I know I won't be moved anymore. I'm so excited. My Forever Dad mentioned that they have a wild cat who hangs around outside. My Foster Mom said that she didn't know how I would react if a kitty ran from me while I was outside so I had to show her last night. My Foster Dad put me outside to go potty and there was a stray cat on the porch. Well, um, I thought it wanted me to chase it. As soon as Dad yelled at me to "drop it" (oops!), the fur ball fell into a snow bank and played dead. Even Mugsy went over to check him out. Next thing I know, he's up and running down the driveway. At least he won't be coming back here anymore! How was I to know he didn't want to play?! I'm counting the hours until my new life is to begin. I can never thank Boxer Angels enough. Thank you for watching over me. Love, Bailey

1/14/03 - Well, well...yesterday was a busy day for me. We went to a place called "the vets" and Mugsy (the 12 year old resident boxer) went with me. I showed my Mommy what a real "baby" I am by whimpering all the way there, the whole time we were there, and the whole way back! I jumped for joy when we got home and ran around the house with lambie in my mouth. Everyone at the vets said that I was a very sweet boy and I was sure to give all of them kisses. I even tried to play with other animals that came to visit the office. The vet said that I either have the beginning or tail end of kennel cough so she put me on some medicine just in case. I am completely up to date on all my vaccinations (except Bordatella since I am being treated for kennel cough). The vet said that the gray around my muzzle is very deceiving and that she estimates my age to be around 5 years old. A lady in the waiting room asked if she could adopt me and my Mommy said that there was someone special out there waiting for me to join their family. Could it be you? Love, Bailey

1/13/03 - Happy Monday from Bailey. Boy, I feel like I have lived here all my life. Not to mention that I am the PERFECT boy (ok, so I had to get the "marking thing" out of my system but I wanted my Mom and Dad to know that I love them both!) I sleep through the night without a potty break and play with Mischief quite a bit. She still steals my lambie but I am a gentleman and don't try to take it back from her. I will be going to the vet today as my Mommy thinks I have kennel cough. Not to worry! 4-5 days of medicine and I will be just fine. I'm on an feeding schedule now and just love being with the family. I even like the strangers who stop by the house and let me out for potty breaks. I even gave one of them a big kiss last night. She was a nice lady! I'm an all around good guy and would love to have a family of my own to love. I don't want to be moved around anymore. I have so much love to give. Could it be you? I can't wait to meet you. Love, Bailey

1/9/03 - Greetings from Bailey! Today is my second day at the Come & Go Boxer Bungalow and I'm settling right in. I have decided that I like Mischief a lot and we have fun chasing each other and stealing one another's toys. The other resident boxer is kind of old and sleeps a lot which is okay with me as I have fun entertaining myself. My foster Dad was home with my yesterday and we officially bonded. I think the guy likes me. I pounce up and down when I want to play with him and he's pretty good about learning my clues. I've had a couple accidents in the house but my foster Mom thinks it's more about marking than a house training problem. I've only done it twice and I knew I was bad (once on my Mom's coat and once on my Dad's. I wanted it to be even!). I'm really good about allowing people and other critters near my food bowls and don't mind the cable run outside at all. I even like the little fur balls they call kitties. I am very low maintenance and am a cuddle bug. I sleep through the night and Mischief and I have agreed to share the bed. In fact, she makes a good pillow! I'm a really good boy in my crate, which is where I am during the day. What more could you ask for? I am the perfect dog looking for the perfect family. Could that be you? Don't make me wait too long...I would make a wonderful addition to any family. Love, Bailey

1/8/03 - Bailey joined the crew at the Come & Go Boxer Bungalow last evening after visiting with Jenn, his past foster Mom. Bailey was returned to rescue due to a living change with his Forever Home. Bailey was VERY, VERY loved and it was a difficult decision for his Forever Home to return him. His return had nothing to do with him. Bailey is a wonderful, petite boy. He is crate trained, house trained, loves kids, and gets along well with other dogs and cats. He is a little confused right now but I am confident that he will settle in quickly. Bailey has become my little shadow. Everywhere I go, he goes. In fact, he can even jump over the baby gates without touching them. Don't let this guy's age fool you, he has lots of spunk! His favorite toy is a stuffed lamb that he carries with him all the time. He is quite verbal as far as talking to you when he wants loving. He slept through the night without any problems and is crated during the day. Won't you consider adopting this sweet boy? He's searching for his final Forever Home to share his love with. Be sure to check back for updates from Bailey.

11/24/02 - Mr. Bailey is just a dream dog. Our first week has been a breeze he settled right in like he's been here forever. He is so sweet and protective with the girls in the house. His favorite spot is under my bed and he just loves to follow me around the house. He also thinks he is a lap dog.... I don't have the heart to tell him he isn't. He is just getting over kennel cough and no more worms. He is spunky spunky now. The first few days I thought he was a lounger because of his age, well that isn't true. He can keep right up with his sister Rylie. Last night the whole family jumped into bed to watch a movie and Bailey was no exception. He is just so sweet you couldn't help but love him. I can only imagine that he was lost because he is just so well mannered.

11/18/02 - Bailey has been adopted.  Here is his first update from his new Mom:

Here are a few pictures of Bailey.  He is sooo easy to get attached to in only 5 minutes! I am forever grateful to you Jenn.  Thanks so much for everything.  The car ride home was great.  He was so well behaved it was amazing.  He enjoyed some McDonald's on the way home and insisted on being as close as he could to my daughter.  He kissed her so much I think her face will be clean for weeks! We took about three potty breaks on the way home and he went right away.  He walked through our front door to be greeted by my husband and other daughter Emily and he started kidney beaning like a fool with his little nubby going crazy.  He really just seems  loves everyone.  I walked in the house not even checking where Rylie would be and they met that instant.  You would think they've lived together forever not a single problem and they played for a while.  I had to put Rylie in her crate to make dinner and Bailey would just sit in front of her cage and then look back at me like… Well aren't you going to let her out?  It was soso cute.  My daughter Emily called him into the living room and invited him (you were right Jenn you have to invite him on the furniture he won't just jump on it) and he curled up between both girls and rested his head in her lap and fell asleep.   As you can tell I am in LOVE already.  He is just the sweetest boy.  He is sleeping in my bed right now.  I will send you some settling into the house pictures later in the week.

11/16/02 - Bailey is pending adoption.

11/5/02 - I'm pleased to present my very first foster, Bailey! He's on the "small side", is approximately 7 years old, is brindle and has thee most handsome face you could ask for!! Other than a little gray, his face and forehead are black and he has great big brown eyes that seem to look straight into your heart. I was pleasantly surprised to discover what a sweetheart of a boy Bailey is. He walked into a strange home and his tail wagged immediately. He met the resident goofballs, Hawkeye and Jackson,, and decided to stay anyhow. (He has much better manners than they do.) He was calm, cool and collected and made friends immediately. He's been sleeping at my feet all evening.  He and Action Jackson are curled up butt to butt (Jackson's idea but Bailey seemed pleased enough.) Bailey has asked that I bid everyone goodnight as it's way past his bedtime. He'll dictate a message soon .
