12/30/05 - Wow! It's been a long time since we've updated Bella.  She's been with us now for almost a year now and she is a completely different dog.  She's very lovable and barks and barks until she gets your attention.  She loves to be in your lap or curl up with you in bed.  She is no longer scared of strangers and loves attention from all people.  It's very evident that she feels loved and safe. She just got another new baby brother last week for Christmas who is also white.  His name is Brady and he is  deaf. The two of them together are the most adorable thing ever.  As per Bella's health, she is perfect.  No more ear infections, and her allergies seem to be under control.  Every once in a while, her paws become itchy and drive her nuts, but we have medicine to help control her skin irritations.  Well, we just wanted to let everyone at BAR know how well our little girly is doing and how happy we are with her. We couldn't have adopted a better dog!
There are some new pictures of Bella to the right.

5/9/05 - Happy Birthday Bella!!! This beautiful little girl just celebrated her 1st birthday. She had a great party with her brothers and got a brand new bone. She was so happy. Bella is doing terrific. She gets more lovable and affectionate each day that passes. Her little tail wags constantly and she loves to be on our laps all the time. She gets along great with her brothers and plays with them for hours at a time. She loves to bite them all over and play with their tug toys. When they ignore her, she howls until she gets their attention. Bella continues to improve with her house training too. I can't remember the last time she had an accident.

4/7/05 - Bella continues to do well in her forever home. She just got a new brother Shemp and is very happy to have another brother to play with. Bella's ears are doing great. Both ear infections have cleared and she is so happy that I only have to rinse her ears 2-3 times a week. Bella is also doing better with her house training. She is having less accidents in the house and is beginning to like walking on a leash. She is still a little skeptical of strangers but is warming up to new people more quickly than she used to!

3/05/05 - Bella has really adjusted well to her new home. She was a little tentative the first night we got her, but by morning was happy. She loves her brother Cassius and has really become a true energetic boxer puppy. She loves to wrestle with him and bite his legs. Bella's ear infections are improving as well. She has been to the vet twice in the last month, and is making tremendous progress. Last Monday the vet could see both of her eardrums and decreased her medications from twice a day to once a day. She is also getting better with her house training too. She still has accidents, but she's learning. Bella has made so much progress in the last month with us. She is so happy and is really turning into an affectionate little lover!

2/4/05 - Bella is pending adoption

1/21/05-Bella continues to improve in her foster home. She is now playing with toys and tug of war with the other dog in the home!! She is putting on her much needed weight and looking great. I find it hard to believe this beautiful girl is still waiting for someone to love her forever.
She is doing great with her housebreaking, no accidents and has warmed up to people and doing well
when meeting new people.
Please consider this great dog for your home!

1/5/05 - Bella is doing terrific in her foster home. She gets along well with the other dogs and is inquisitive with the cat but does not hurt it...so she will be fine with cats and dogs.
Bella is slowly coming around with her affections for people as well. She now slowly puts one paw on you then the other as if to say "is this ok to do?" It does take her a bit of time to warm up to strangers...she is not aggressive in anyway but is nervous. The family that adopts this cute little girl needs to be very patient and loving with her and allow her the time she needs to flourish into a full blown bouncing boxer baby.
Bella is still having accidents in the house at times so will need continued work on her house training but has had no accidents in her crate and it has remand dry since Sunday.
She takes a lot of her leads from the lab in the home as far as sitting, eating treats (which she had no idea of how to do) and going potty outside so I think a home with another dog would definitely benefit her.
One other thing about Bella is that she has chronic ear infections....her one ear is infected and the vet thinks she may have been abused at some point and has scar tissue causing the ear canal to be closed off allowing no air in and thus her getting ear infections all the time so this is something to think about as well...it is not expensive to treat.
She goes for a walk with the other two pups in the house every morning and walks great on the leash.
I hope you will consider this girl for your home and give her the love, time and patience she needs to come out of her shell.

12/26/04 - BAR's newest guest has arrived, for what will surely be a short stay. Her name is Bella, which one look at her will tell you why...this girl is beautiful!!
Yes, she is very sad right now, and very underweight, and very scared, but it is clear much has happened to this girl in her very short life. Bella was brought into the shelter as a stray. She appears to have recently has a litter of pups, despite being a baby herself. She appears to be under a year old. She was extremely scared at the shelter, and looks like she is VERY confused.
She was spayed on Friday, and was ready to leave today. She rode in the car beautifully, and was traveling with another dog and had no issues or problems with the company. We did not hear a peep from her during her 1 hour transport, and when she got to her new foster home, had no issues with the 2 resident dogs.
She ate well, and the goal will be to put some much-needed weight on that petite little frame. I just spoke to the foster home, and within 3 hrs of being there, she is finally wagging her nub :o)) Good girl Bella.
So, come back soon and see what progress this sad (but not for long) girl makes in BAR. For her, without a doubt, it will be a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
