7/25/06 - Max is doing wonderful! Him and Trouble have since become very good friends, so much that when Trouble had to spend the 2 nights at the vet Max didn't sleep at all... He was very concerned. Max's manners have improved greatly, we no longer jump on people when they come into the house, however the boxer wiggle is defiantly his trade mark. He HATES to be ignored... this means you can't read the newspaper or sit on the computer without him on your lap. We still eat the occasional sandal or doll. Max loves to ride in the truck with Dad every Saturday to go to the bank, and LOVES to sing with the radio. However, stopping the singing is not so easy. Max also loves to water the flowers and DIG HOLES in the yard. After a very rainy week, Max went outside before bed, and when he came to the door he was COVERED in mud... he dug in the hole which was mud to begin with... Needless to say he got a bath at 10:30 that night.
Next summer I will be moving to Virginia, but my parents won't part with Max, so I'll be looking for another boxer friend to rescue to come share my new life!

1/11/06 - It's been a while since I've updated but Max is doing great! He experienced his very first Christmas only eating a few Xmas bulbs and one or two presents. Max is still crazy about the snow, he loves to play in it! He is hilarious to watch when you throw a snow ball and he can't find it...
Max also is fascinated by our new kitten "Trouble." The cat is not afraid of Max at all, he just lays there and lets Max lick him and chew on his ears. We haven't left the two of them alone, Max just doesn't realize how strong he is and we don't want him to hurt Trouble. Max is growing up nicely and filling out. The Vet said he is one of the nicest looking boxers he has seen in a long time. I do know one thing, Max is still 85 pounds of spring loaded energy :)

6/7/05 - Well, we've about hit the 6 month mark with Max. It hasn't been a very easy trip, but it's here. Max is definitely an "alpha" dog. He thinks he is boss, you yell, he barks back. However, over the past month or 2 he is developing a respect for both myself and my father. He still doesn't listen very well to my mom, and even less to my sister. He still eats things, EVREYTHING, when we leave him alone for even a short period of time. Before, we were having to keep him on a leash almost all the time, even when he is in out fenced in yard. This is mostly because when he is off the leash he is nearly impossible to catch, and we know he has the ability to jump the fence, so we just figured better safe the sorry. He does come outside with me now and we play ball or cook on the grill or water flowers and he kinda just hangs
around the yard doing his thing. He LOVES the garden hose, and he LOVES to play "catch me if u can" Even tho we always catch him, it has taken up to 2 hours.  We also recently found out that on top of his love for the bat tub, he has a love for the clothes dryer too. When you first pull warm clothes out, he stands as close as he can get to it walking back and forth like a cat. Progress is slow, and it's sometimes really frustrating, I just have to think about how far he has come since January when it was hard to even try and cuddle with him. But one thing is for sure, Max is Boxer blood thru and thru, he has non stop energy and is always keeping us on our toes.

3/19/05 - Just wanted to let everyone know that Max is doing well. He saw Dr. Roeder a few weeks ago and we found out that the cause for his hair loss was due to a type of stress mite that is in his hair follicle. He has to take 2cc's of Ivermectin once a day, which he gladly eats on a piece of break with some peanut butter. He is also taking a zinc supplement, which he eats just like a treat!
Max has lots of energy and loves to play. He also likes to get into things he's not supposed to, like the strawberry daquari mix and the soda cans!!! He also isn't very found of my little sisters cosmetology head. He tore the curlers out of its hair and chewed off the nose. My sister had to tell her teacher that the dog literally, ate her homework. He also ate my dads fire proof glove for the fire place.
He likes to help clean up his messes sometimes too. Max likes to chase the vacuum cleaner and the mop. And some times he plays hide and seek, except his hiding place is always the same, hiding in the bath tub behind the curtain!
Max also out grew his cage, he had to get a new one. This one is an open crate that is almost 3 foot by 4 foot. He will gladly lay down in this crate, he has already called it his. Max is a little upset that the snow is almost gone, but I'm sure he's going to love the summer weather just as much when he gets to play outside all day!

2/26/05 - Max has been adopted

2/20-05 - Max is pending adoption

2/20/05 - I just wanted to let you know Max is ding great! He’s really starting to become part of the family, and is showing a lot more affection then before. He’s getting much better in the house, and his separation anxiety is easing. He is on a Zinc & fatty acid supplement for his hair coat and seems to be doing much better. I Just wanted to let you know I forwarded your message to my parents. They are currently in Daytona, FL and will be home either Wednesday or Thursday this week. They said the bill is fine that way. You should be hearing from them later this week. I attached some pictures so you can see how good he is doing…He really is such a clown! But he loves the snow!

1/21/05 - Max arrived in rescue 1/21/05....he is a sweet VERY,VERY active boxer boy. He was given up by his family due to changes in their living arrangements.
Max rode great in the car and headed right over to his foster home. Once in the home he certainly made himself at home jumping on and OVER the couch....checking out all corners of the home and giving everyone their share of loving.
I am told his first day alone he did a bit of rearranging....guess he didn't care for the plants too much and made sure they realized he likes food left on the counter as it wasn't there when they got home :o))
Max is not home alone...he spends the day upstairs with Grandpa with lots of treats, toys and loving and eves and weekends with his family....also all set with toys, treats and loving...what dog could ask for more. This family is looking for a dog to adopt as well so I have a feeling that Max won't be leaving!
