2/10/06 - I'm happy to report Balboa is doing very well.  He and his new brother Zorro are coming to terms nicely.  Just in the week we have had Balboa we have seen his (and Zorro's) behavior change.  He is already less aggressive toward Zorro, they are playing nicer, and Zorro seems to show concern for Balboa.  Balboa has tried (unsuccessfully) several times to snuggle with Zorro.  Last night he was successful.  Zorro did not move and Balboa laid down behind him and rested his head on top of Zorro's body.  It was SOOOO cute.

Balboa no longer sleeps in his crate.  The last 2 nights we did not even close the bedroom door.  Balboa sleeps on a doggie bed at the foot of our bed and Zorro sleeps in the living room in my recliner.  Zorro even came into the room last night to get us up because he had to go to the bathroom and there were no issues at all.

I'm confident that Balboa already feels loved and will in no time feel like the full member of the family he is.

Best Regards, Rich

2/4/06 - Balboa has been adopted

1/27/06 - Balboa is pending adoption

1/13/06  - Balboa is quite the charmer, and quiet the looker too!  The picture sincerely doesn't do him justice.  He will be even more amazing once we get some more weight on him.  He was too thin to have his neuter performed when BAR rescued him, but with a few more pounds he could return to the vet for the procedure.  Balboa caught kennel cough in the shelter, so we will not be able to play with other pups for a few days.  Even though he has been under the weather he still has a wonderful disposition!  He tolerates me wiping his nose, eyes, and administration of medicine.  Wish my husband were this good when he has a cold:)  Balboa knows his name and responds well, so we have not changed it.  He is very smart and is learning tricks quickly.  He already knows "sit" and "lay down".   He is great at matching your temperament.  Easy to correct, a simple "no" suffices as he is very sensitive. I really can't imagine how anyone could let go of this wonderful boy!

1/8/06 - Balboa arrived today thanks to a wonderful transporter "Dina".  All the stress of being in the shelter, meeting so many new people, and having his food changed has left his tummy upset.  We will crate him tonight to ensure he succeeds without having an accident.  He is very loving and eager to please and seems to be just an absolute doll!
