11/20/06 - I just wanted to give you an update on my beloved Cleo.  She is the MOST WONDERFUL DOG!!!  My
family and I are so in love with her. She is so gentle and loving.  She listens wonderfully.  Everyone who meets her just gives her so much praise.  She has definitely won our hearts.  Thank you so much BAR for allowing us this special gift of love.

6/9/06 - I just wanted to let everyone know that Cleo is one of the best things to happen to our family.
SHE IS WONDERFUL!!!  I cannot say how beautiful, smart, loving, obedient, tolerable, gently girl
she is!!!  My family and I have been so happy since her arrival.  My children absolutely adore
her!!!  We have had absolutely no trouble with her what-so-ever.  It's like she has been in our home
since she was born.  I just wanted to thank your organization in allowing us the chance to bring
Cleo into our home.

4/5/06 - I just wanted to update everyone on Miss Cleo.  She is doing absolutely wonderful here.  We have had her for about a month now, and it's like she has been here forever.  She is such a great dog.  Everyone who meets her just falls in love with her.  My boys love her here too.  My youngest (1 1/2) is just enthralled with her.  He lays with her, helps her with her food, and has to know where she is at all times.  Cleo is wonderful with him as well.  She enjoys our walks around the neighborhood and going to the playground.  We are so happy to have found her!!!

3/11/06 - Cleo has been adopted.

3/7/06 - Cleo is pending adoption

2/25/06 - Cleo continues to do well.  I have definitely determined she needs to have her food moist, its better for her to digest and to chew, as she is a very fast eater.  She has become more loveable and she is a follower, everywhere I am she is.  She loves to lay outside the tub and wait for me to be done.  She's gotten a lot better with the cats, so I think all and all she would be ok, but mostly she would prefer not to have any in her home. She has had no more bouts of upset tummy and I don't think, since she has improved greatly, that she will need any enzyme treatment. Her food is working well for her and the only trouble she has is eating it dry.  She inhales it and sometimes she does have some pieces come back up, which is to be expected.  Cleo is a great girl and a good girl.  She walks with her head high and is really a joy.

2/16/06 - Well Cleo continues to do wonderful.  She has improved a great deal and has had no setbacks.  Her diet now is working just perfect for her and she's a happier gal. She plays more and has a good amount of energy for an older dog.  She continues to do well with my children and visitors.  Just to let you know, she isn't so hard on the cats anymore either.  I actually caught her giving kisses to Chloe the other day and she didn't know I was there.  I told her she was a good girl and was very nice!  She looked at me like I don't know what your talking about, kissing the cats?  NOT ME!   But anyways, she still likes to give them a hard time but has somewhat calmed down.  Anyone who has
hopefully inquired about her will not be disappointed.  She's a very good companion and an obedient one as well.  She will make you proud.

2/9/06 - Well "Miss" Cleo is doing very well. Her tummy problems seem to have gone away as of right now.  She has been eating great. She is playful as ever, and seems to be feeling well.  As for the cats, she has improved towards them. She is now at the point where she can ignore them or walk by them without chasing. She does have some anxiety towards them but it has subsided. I still think she'd rather not be around any. She had a good romp in the snow yesterday and tired herself out. Took a 2 hour nap! She's a darlin and would make a great companion.

2/2/06 - Well well well, who said you cant teach a dog new tricks..Cleo is initiating play with Faye.  I had a tummy ache from laughing this morning.  She has been feeling a bit better in the last couple of days and has quite spunky.  For a senior lady she showed Faye the moves!.  She was up on her hind legs, plowing into my dog..and what a sight.  They even boxed with each other a little bit.  Now it has come to when mommy says enough...ENOUGH.  lol  :)
Faye has a potty ritual that when she's done she digs her back feet into the ground and kicks back, grass is flying and it is quite hysterical.  Well Cleo has caught on.  So we now have games at potty time as to who can kick their grass in the air higher.  Who knew potty outings could be so much fun!!!
Well Cleo also went to the vet yesterday.  He gave her a clean bill of health, no urinary infection, no worms, she's at a great weight and the only problem for her tummy and digestive system is that she is lacking the right enzymes.  Her body isn't producing them to digest her food and eliminate properly.  With meds we can hopefully fix it.  We are working on a slightly different diet with her also.  He clipped her nails for me and she was just an angel for the doc.
Well Cleo is a awesome girl and I again hope her future is promising with a loving forever home.

1/22/06 - Well Miss Cleo has been with us now for 3 weeks and its been a lil bit of a rough road. Kim and I have managed to get her upset stomach under control. She is eating normally now and seems to have perked up quite a bit. She's in happier spirits.  Most of this was due to inappropriate food in her old home and settling into our home.
Cleo has been undergoing some discipline to better her with my cats. Though she has improved, I really do believe that she would do much better in a home without cats.
Her playing with Faye has greatly improved. They get into a bit of rough housing now and then and Cleo really seems to be having a lot of fun with it. She cant jump up or move to fast, but she plows into Faye with her body and it is the funniest thing! She also lets Faye know when she's had enough as well and Fay is finally getting the hint, when Cleo says enough, it means enough. Playtime only lasts for a lil bit. I do feel Cleo has improved with being with another dog and would be alright with a companion. She would still be better with an older companion that doesn't have so much energy.
She is still very good with my kids and all company that does come to my home. She welcomes them with a slight bark  at the door (as she is a little protective with us and her house) but initial introduction takes that all away and she is a pleasant host to our guests. I have increased her exercise as the sores on her feet from her nails digging in have healed quite nicely. She looks healthier too. The fifty gallon barrel drum look didn't do her justice. Cleo is a great dog and I hope for her many, many happy days ahead with her forever home.

1/8/06 - Well Cleo arrived to our home on Monday. She is really a lover and loves to be loved on. Initiation with my dog took about 40-60 minutes. She actually could have cared less about my dog being there. She plays very little with my dog, but that's to be expected as they just met and I suspect it is because she is an older lady. Cleo and Faye get along well, though I do feel that she would do better alone or with another older dog, but it's early days and Cleo  needs time to become used to a new home and acquainted with the pets already here .She is housebroken and has been a very good girl. She has an issue with my cats. She can play the old lady part really well until she sees my little furballs so she most likely has not shared a home with cats and possibly at her age would prefer to live kitty free.

She was kidless in my house for the first 3 hours she was with me. Then my kids came home and she was really awesome them!!! She barks when someone knocks at my door, which was really foreign to Faye, seeing as she is SOOO friendly she invites them in!!, (but that's to be expected from a youngster) Cleo is an all around angel. She will make someone a nice companion.

She rides very nicely too, and knows her name and responds (thank God as we have cats in our home) A firm voice is all you need to get her attention when she has selective hearing. I think she could stand to lose a couple pounds.

My children are upset that Cleo is only here temporarily.  As of today she really is warming up to the playing with my pup, a sign that she is feeling more settled and less overwhelmed than when she first arrived.  Cleo had a bath today as well and she was really really awesome.  My son helped her into the tub and she got herself out.  She was very good about him lifting her and was not at all agitated about it.  Like I said she is an angel and she deserves the best that life and a loving home could possibly give her.
