1/2/06 - Ray has been adopted.

12/22/05 - Ray is pending adoption.

11/9/05 - Well, hey Ray what do you say??
Ray says Hi everyone!! He is doing just swell here at the Boxer Haven. We did find out today that Mr. Charles here does NOT like the rain! I had to drag him out the door to go potty. Fastest I ever saw him go potty and get back in the house...LOL.
Ray is such a very playful guy....I was outside with him for a bit yesterday playing "tickle, tickle" ( I play it with my other blind boxer I have).  What it is, is the dog goes in large circles around me and when they come in front of me I tell them "I'm gonna tickle you" and they run fast past me...slow down for the rest of the circle and I repeat it when they get in front of me...I reach out and tickle them to...so what they are trying to do is run by without getting tickled...just
like a little kid...they love it!! Ray caught on real quick.  He also loves the toys and for you to play with him...he loves tug of war, trying to get the toy from under my feet and will run after a toy if he hears it land....this boy is super smart.  Have I ever mentioned he is a love bug as well.  There has to be a one dog family out there somewhere that wants a super dog....trust me people don't even know he is blind...they are surprised when I tell them.  So let's get those apps in quickly so he can get settled in his very own home!

10/29/05 - Well I have been away on vacation for the last week and Ray got to stay at my vets.  I picked him up this morning and boy was he ever happy to be back with me...all the customers in the office were laughing...he was in my lap in a heartbeat with lots of kisses and hugs. Everyone said he was a gem to have and they all just loved him.
Ray was neutered and wormed while visiting for the week so he is all set to go at this point.
Ray came home with me and settled right in like he never left.  I gave him some time to stretch his legs and roam around before putting him back in his crate....he slept like a baby for about 2-3 hours.
I let him out a bit later on and he has been out with me for about 3 hours now....god this boy is just a dream....I love him so much.  He was out with my Shih Tzu's and was fine with them...once he is all healed up from his surgery I am going to try him again with a boxer to see how he does...I am hoping the neuter will settle him a bit.
If you are looking for just one dog to have with your family Ray is the boy for you...he is so very smart and loving.  He deserves the best.  You can take him on walks and he is fine...he does not go out of his way to search out other dogs...he just doesn't care for them in his space or around his food.  Please consider this awesome dog for your home...you will not be sorry.  He gets around well, he is housebroken and LOVES people.  All you will have to do is show him around your home and if you have a fenced yard around there...he will learn his way around and will remember...he knows where his food bowl is and where the water is kept and get this....Ray taught himself the doggy
door all on his own...I tell you this guy is the best!!

10/12/05 - Well Ray is settling in here at the Guardian Angel Boxer Haven.  I have to tell you he is one of the sweetest dogs that I have met.  Last night he climbed up in my lap, curled up, and went to sleep, but not before giving me lots of kisses which is one of his favorite things to do.Ray does jump up on you and hug you for attention so I really fee he should NOT be in a home with children under 12 years of age.
Ray is recently blind and is still learning to navigate.  I am working with him and teaching him step up and step down for the stairs and easy when he gets hear running into things.
As you can see in the picture Ray LOVES to play...I roll the ball and he follows it...I try to take it away and he protects it with his paws.   Such a clever boy he is.
He likes to wrestle which I have done with him so he is not a quiet quiet boy but does settle when needed and lays quietly.
Ray is great in the crate and is house trained.  Please don't pass him by because he is blind...he can live out his life like any other dog.  I have a blind girl of my own so I know this all to well.
The reason I would like him to go to a home with no other dogs is he does have some food aggressions with the other dogs.  He also is learning to trust them...he has fought with a two of my guys a couple of times...all it takes is a simple tiny growl or snarl and he is on them quickly.  He does not however, seek out a fight...this only happens if the other dog voices any noise of disconcern.
If anyone needs clarification on him or has questions feel free to email me at

10/8/05 - Here is the new boy...CA Ray! He is a super dog and fine with the others as long as they don't growl.....he gets defensive.  I think he just needs time to settle a bit and he will be fine.  He loves to play with the ball as you see :o)) He is such a love and gives great kisses and hugs.  He is great in the crate, housebroken and has pretty much ignored the kitties so far.

Ray is bind., but he is getting around well and I am teaching him easy (so he doesn't bump into things) and step up and step down (for the stairs).  He seems to pick up on things pretty quickly.
