1/12/06 - Polo is practically perfect. We’ve had him for a week, and he has done almost everything perfectly. Upon arriving here, he knew sit and shake, he is perfect on recall – he goes out without a leash around our house all the time – and he is not a puller when he is on the leash. He is a snuggler – a total lover! He just loves our male Boxer and even our bratty queen bee female has warmed up to him. He is a self-entertainer – he loves to play with toys and will throw them for himself and chase them. He is completely housebroken. He’s gentle with food, and is just a gentle dog in general, despite having really good energy. He has gotten more used to the crate and he’ll bark as we’re leaving the house but then stops. He sleeps in the crate at night without any barking. He does bark at strange noises in the house sometimes, and he barks at people when he’s in the car and people pass by close to him, but he shows no people aggression at all. He walked into the vet’s office today and they all just melted. He was all wiggles and licks.
We’re currently working to get him totally healthy. He came to us with kennel cough and a few yucky sores and infected ears but he’s on meds and doing better now.
This is a very special dog.
