3/12/07 - Hi, I'm Helen, Doobies mom. (used to be Rocket)  Doobie is doing fine, he's adjusted right into the family like he's always been here.  We're still working on the ferrets as he's a little to curious yet but getting better.  He has a new friend from down the street, Sophie, and he's in love with her.  They play so good together and I think she is teaching him a lot. Again thanks everyone for getting
Doobie to us forever! Helen

2/25/07 - We gave Doobie his new name when he got home and he's answering to it good. He is now playing with all of his toys, he got so many toys from the whole family! He's taking his walks nicely and we went to the park on Fri. and he had a great time! We do a lot of hiking. He got to meet his new vet Dr. Pannick and he was great. he only has 5 more lbs. to gain and he will be at a perfect weight for his age. We've had a few accidents in the house but we're getting the timing down and he's doing better. He is a very lovable puppy and we play a lot during the day because I'm home at the time.
We are thrilled to have another baby in the house, its brought the place to life again. Thanks to all who helped in getting him to us. Helen

2/17/07 - Rocket went home to his forever family today ----tail wagging the whole time.  I know Helen and her family will take great care of him and Rocket will bring them all many years of happiness and loyalty.  So with a few tears shed, I wish Rocket the best of luck and all the love in the world.

2/11/07 - Rocket is pending adoption.

2/8/07 -Rocket is doing great------still a bit of a cough but he's playing and jumping around like a boxer baby should.  He is such a snuggler.  He can't get enough of climbing up on my chair and nuzzling against me.  Rocket loves everyone he comes in contact with.  He doesn't mind animals of any kind around him.  He is just a happy go lucky boy.  Cats are OK. Other dogs are great cause he loves to play and wrestle.  I also noticed that Rocket has the deepest bark for a puppy.  I couldn't figure out where this "big dog" was that was barking in my yard.  It was Rocket.  He is living up to his name now.  He likes to jump straight up in the air and he is really fast.  Rocket is a great traveling companion.  He is very well behaved in the car.  Rocket's appetite is back to normal and he is eating on his own now.  It won't be long until the vet says he's ready to go to his forever home.  He will be a great addition.   I picture Rocket's ideal home as-----an owner who will walk him frequently and play with him.  Kids would be great---he adores my 2.  Maybe another young dog around too for a playmate.  Rocket does not have any separation anxiety or aggression issues at all.  He is perfect.  Still needs work with basic commands.  All he really knows so far is sit because he was too ill for me to work with him.  He walks well on a leash and is eager to please his humans.  Rocket also would love to share your bed with you although when I tell him off he is content to go and lay down in his dog bed.  He has not had any accidents in the house in the past 3 days.  I am crating him when I can't keep an eye on him for housebreaking purposes only.  He has not destroyed anything in my house.  Rocket is a good boy and you'll fall fast and hard for him.

2/6/07 - GREAT NEWS---Rocket has made a turn for the better.  He is finally showing signs of life.  His tail is going like crazy and I see the wiggle butt coming back.  He still has a cough but is now eating on his own and initiating play.  He is still under vet care but in the last 2 days has made great improvements.  It is so heartwarming to see him enjoying being a dog.  Now that he is getting better, we will continue to work with his housebreaking and simple commands.  Rocket is a lap dog. He loves to climb up on you and snuggle.  Even when he was very sick he still craved human affection.  He has the deepest soulful eyes and he is hard not to fall in love with.  Please continue to put  your apps in.  He is making progress by leaps and bounds and will be ready for his forever home soon.

2/4/07 - Rocket is currently on medical hold because he has a nasty case of kennel cough.  He is still very weak but is getting stronger and more alert every day.  He remains very sweet throughout this ordeal.  His tail goes every time he sees someone even if he doesn't get up off the couch.  He is giving kisses again.  His temperature has been elevated but we switched antibiotics and he is finally responding.  Rocket is going to be a beautiful dog for his forever family as soon as he's out of the woods.  He currently sees a vet daily for temp checks and a look over.  Keep in mind that this is not a permanent disability and he will come through.  If you are interested in this boy,  please keep him in your prayers and follow the web page for updates on his condition.  His vet seems to think he will be on antibiotics for a month and then he should be ready for adoption.  I will make sure he is 100 percent before I let him go.  You can still apply for this love.  Updates will follow.

1/27/07 - Rocket continues to do well in our house.  It is a bit crazy with all of these boxers but he is a very good boy.  I took him for his first walk yesterday and he stayed by my side.  No pulling at all.  He is a typical boxer boy.  He loves to snuggle and wiggle.  He also does this "leap of joy" when he first sees you in the morning or when I return from an errand.  He jumps straight up in the air=====all 4 paws off the ground.  It's quite comical.  He is fantastic with children.  Rocket boy had a nice bath today and he tolerated it well.  He actually seemed to enjoy it.  He is going to make a great pet for someone.  His only issues right now are housebreaking and his kennel cough.  He is taking medication for the cough and I will keep everyone posted.  We are crating him at times for housebreaking purposes.  He did have 3 accidents in the house yesterday but I told him NO and took him outside and he finished up in the yard.  We have to remember that this is a puppy and he was a stray.  He was never taught this.  Rocket is very smart and appears to catch on quickly.  He did not have any accidents inside today.  I've been letting him outside hourly and it seems to be working out for now.  He can hold his urine overnight in the crate.  For being a stray, he really has good house manners.  I'm working on sit and down with him right now.  He seems to have "sit" accomplished.  Rocket is going to bloom into a beautiful boxer with a personality to match.  Get those apps in.

1/26/07 - This adorable brindle boy has arrived safely at our home this afternoon. He came to me in the Alliance van and I was told he was quiet and well behaved the whole time. He was immediately receptive to some lovin up. He was all boxer wiggles and kisses. I kept him separate from my 3 boxers initially and let them sniff each other through a baby gate. After a few hours I let them meet and all went well. He also was happy to see all the kids come home from school and was receptive to some hugs from my daughter. I've decided to call him Rocket because he is really fast and he darts up and down my steps. Rocket has a full tail and you need to keep an eye on it cause it goes constantly. He is such a happy pup. This evening I lounged with him on the couch and he fell asleep with me stroking his head. He is very trusting and longing for love. Please consider giving this young love a forever home. He is really beautiful. Such a sweet face. He is thin but that is fixable. I will post some pictures this weekend. Keep an eye out.
