3/12/08 - Daisy is doing wonderfully! She is settling right into the routine. She loves going for walks, car rides and playing fetch. She is fantastic with the kids, a very gentle soul. We just love our little girl! Thanks to everyone at BAR who made this match possible!

3/9/08 - Daisy has been adopted.

2/21/08 - Daisy is pending adoption.

1/12/08 - First, I want to say I'm sorry for the delay in posting an update for Daisy. Daisy was a bit under the weather and I wanted to find out exactly what was wrong with her before I posted anything.
Since my last update Daisy has been spayed and healed beautifully. BAR had her checked out by my vet and on that visit it was then discovered that Daisy has a liver condition (sorry, I don’t know the clinical name). At that time a blood test was done and it determined that Daisy’s liver levels were way off (which explained why she was loosing weight), so my wonderful vet then decided to put Daisy on a liver enzyme pill that she gets every morning 30-45 minutes before she eats her morning meal. She now eats Science Diet l/d formula (dry) and takes her enzyme every day and she has regained her weight back and I’m so very exited to say that her liver levels are all in normal
range once again!!! Hurray for Daisy!!! Dr. G (my vet) wants her to continue on the food and enzyme and Ms Daisy will need to be retested in about 4-6 months (if I remember right) and there is a possibility that she’ll be able to come off the enzyme eventually.
Now that Daisy is feeling better more of her personality is emerging. She is not as submissive as I thought she was going to be, she is a bit on the witchy side with my two resident boxers. She tends to push my female around, she tried to push my male but he’d have no part in it. There are no fights she just gives it a try every now and then to see if they have changed their mind and perhaps she can be boss now. Luckily my female is very submissive and doesn’t really care what Daisy does, she just shrugs it off and goes on about her business.
As far as a good home for this girl, I think someone that is home more than away would be better for her. Right now she is hardly ever home with no human around. If she is it’s only for a few hours once or twice a week. When she is home alone she is gated with my other female in our kitchen, and there is no damage or messes. She sleeps in the kitchen at night in a big boxer mound with the other two and there have been no problems as well. One thing you do have to remember is you need to take her outside the minute she is done eating or she’ll leave you a ‘present’ on the floor! You know what they say…out with the old in with the new! She needs more leash work as well; she seems to think it needs to be done her way. With her not feeling well and the nasty weather it’s been hard to work on but I work on it with her when I can. She will relax and follow your lead but you need to be firm and just keep going no matter what she tries to do, then she’ll follow your lead after a few minutes. She is jumpy around traffic but with work I think she’ll learn to relax, she needs to have someone who is confident with a leash and their abilities. She also needs to have a raised water bowl. With her huge under bite if she gulps the water down she has a tendency to throw it back up, nothing huge and it only happens if she's gulping the water to fast. I've noticed that the raised water bowl helps her.
Daisy is a real love, everyone who meets her falls in love with her. People stop me all the time to get a better look at her with her two different colored eyes and her huge under bite she's quite a site. She’s a big love who just wants to be someone’s best friend and snuggle buddy. If Daisy sounds like the dog for you, just fill out that application and lets get her to your door!! She’s waiting with hugs an kisses for you!!!

11/12/07 - Time for a Daisy Doodles update! Daisy is getting along great with everyone from the four legged
critters to the two legged ones. She continues to come out of her shell, she will bark when she hears someone at the door but stops as soon as you let them into the house. She's still a bit shy and gets spooked easily but as soon as she figures out it's not going to hurt her she overcomes and continues on her merry little way.

As you can tell by her pictures she's a goofy girl. She sleeps with her tongue hanging out most of the times which is a total crack-up when you see it. She is always making us laugh, especially the way her bottom two canines stick out over her upper lip it is so cute!! You can't help but fall in love with this little girl. She is a little girl, only weighing about 45 pounds. I'll get a better weight on her when she goes to the vet at the end of the month for her spay. Daisy is waiting to give you boxer wiggles and hugs, so fill out those applications!!!

11/2/07 - Please give a warm BAR welcome to my latest foster, Ms. "Daisy Doodles"! Well her names is Daisy and for some reason we've been calling her Daisy Doodles and it's stuck with her. She is a goofy girl with boundless energy. Daisy gets along well with my resident boxers Mina and Spencer and the resident cat. She needs some work on commands and leash training. We'll work on this while she's here with us. Daisy sleeps in a crate in our bedroom, she wasn't crate trained when she first come to us but she sleeps in there all night without complaining. Getting her into the crate is a little work but she's getting the hang of it. She started sleeping in the crate because she was coming  out of heat and I needed to keep her in a contained area so she didn't make a mess throughout the house. During the day Daisy Doodles spends her time gated in the kitchen with my boxer babies. I take care of kids in my home during the week days and three boxers running around is a bit much to deal with when your only 2 years old. Daisy does great with the two year old that's here during the day. She gives him lots of kisses....sometimes more than poor Kyle handle.
Daisy is ready and waiting for her forever home. If you feel your heart is ready for boxer wiggles and kisses then Daisy Doodles is the girl for you!! Please keep your eyes open, Daisy Doodles pictures will be arriving in a day or two.....Remember...get those applications in...Daisy is waiting to love into your life!
