12/07 - Georgie is pending adoption

11/20/07 - Christie contracted kennel cough while in the shelter and she was so tiny and at 19 yrs. old could not fight it off.  She has gone to the Rainbow Bridge.  Georgie also has kennel cough and we hope that she can bounce back.

11/14/07 - Georgie and Christie are being fostered to adopt by their foster mom.   Wish them well!

11/11/07 - Georgie (boxer) & Christie (Chihuahua) have come into our rescue under very unfortunate circumstances.  Their owner lost his job and his apt.  He moved in with his sister who is not allowed to have dogs but they were able to keep them without the landlord knowing for 6 months.  He found out and demanded they be gone right then and there...with nothing else to do they were taken to a city shelter in NY.  The owner then promptly called us for help.  We called the shelter the very next morning and had the girls sprung to our care and they are now in their foster home in Gardiner, NY.
I have to tell you there is no sweeter pair then these two...they walked into the house, met two boxers (male and female) and acted as if they had been there their whole lives...did not fuss with the other dogs and totally ignored the cat...tails wagging away.
Both are house broken and very good on a leash...if you ever thought about taking in a pair of dogs, look no further, you have just found what you are looking for...house trained, do not have to be crated, get along with dogs, cats and kids.  And on top of all this..they are A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E.
Please consider taking these guys into your home and continue to give them all the love and care they have had all their lives.
