12/07 - Tate is pending adoption

11-16-07 - Tater grows more loving each day. Yesterday, Houdini got out of his crate and had the run of the house to our surprise. He did his business in my sewing room, but other than that he didn’t hurt a thing. He is eating well, though so far it doesn’t show. He responds to “No!” when it’s necessary and sits. When Dan or I come home he knows the sounds and he grabs a toy to come to us. Yesterday he let Dan pet him on his back, so I know the trust and comfort are beginning. He stays right near one of us all the time. Tater is a good boy.

11/23/07 - Here are some pictures of Tater and Bentley (my little brother). Tater has learned to walk on a training lead, stay off of the couch and dining room table (his first place to jump when Ed brought him in) and has learned how to use a doggie door. He is an affectionate loving dog who is picking up on his manners quickly. Bentley is teaching him about doing his business outside in the kennel or up in the pine trees. He loves balls and soft toys so it would appear that somebody has played with him prior.

11-26-07 - Tater is doing great. He sits, comes, and plays well. He is a real boxer in every way. Gary and I talked today, to set up neutering. There is a Spay/Neuter clinic in Voorhees NJ. That is where my daughter lives, about 12 miles from here. Dan went on the internet to read about it. Evidently they also help with medicine and vaccinations.  My daughter, Jenny, actually fund raises for them with her classes. (blankets, food, $) Tater must have puller something in the left leg because he is limping and it’s getting worse. The vet had examined him and didn’t think there was a problem, unless it gets worse. Tater can still run with the beagle and play, but hold the paw up. Tater is loving and likes to sleep with us at night. He is friendly with other dogs. He has worms  and fungi, both of which he is getting meds for. Vet said he was a healthy boy. Wants him to gain only about 5 lbs.
