1/20/09 - My husband and Capone are already inseparable.  Capone goes everywhere with him from work to bed and he even helps in gathering eggs and feeding the chickens every morning.  (Although we do suspect Capone may be more interested in the food being thrown out to the chickens (like leftover popcorn) than helping tend to the chickens.)
Today was my first day back to work since we picked him up (he gets to spend all day with my husband.  I’m attaching a picture of what I came home to today as I walked into the house.  We are truly thrilled with him.  My last Boxer used to line up with the other two dogs like pictured, and I missed it so such.  I almost cried when I saw Capone part of the line up again.  Capone is being so kind to our other two dogs who are not thrilled about him – yet.  They don’t dare protest too openly or Capone will sit on them.
Thanks for letting Capone be a part of our lives.

1/17/09 - Capone went home with his new family today. He is a happy boy.

1/12/09 - Capone is pending adoption

12/24/08 - Latest update on Capone has him out of his shell. He has been having a great time. He and Tony are playing now every night, a bit of tug-o-war. They sound like they are going to rip into each other but no, they are just having a great time. So he will do well with other dogs. Last weekend my grandson was
over for a little while and he said how come Capone is still here, he has such big eyes and a nice face, I thought someone would have adopted him by now. Capone followed him everywhere he went and sat right near him so he would be handy to pet. He is also a very curious boy, I was sitting on the floor wrapping xmas gifts and he had to be right there to check everything out. Had to make sure he wasn't missing anything good to eat. I love in the morning when he wants to go out. He comes right over to the bed and puts his head on it making sure he touches me. For such a big boy he is a softy.

12/5/08 - Here is a quick update on Capone. He is coming along on playing now. He will play tug o war and he will now toss his toys in the air. He is playing a lot more now. He cracks me up on the weekends. I try to sleep in a little but he is used to his meal time and if I don't get up after an hour has past he will come over and nudge the bed, then come to the head of the bed and nose me, then go back to nudging the bed. He has not attempted to get on any furniture since he has been here either. He's just such a great boy. That's it for now. Sent in some new pictures of him so be watching for them.

11/18/08 - He seems to love this new freedom of movement and really is having a ball running around. He doesn't seem to know how to play tug o war with his toys, he just chews on them, and if you reach for them he just lets go. So he plays with his toys by himself. He is more agile now for his boxer beanie dance when I get home. He is virtually never in his crate anymore and is just a part of the family and everyday life here. He has a nice deep bark and he only gives a bark or two when someone is outside just to let you know and quiets right down. Nothing really new to report, he's just a love bug.

11/3/08 - All is quiet. Capone is settled in nicely. Currently he is sleeping on a dog bed in the room with me and Tony. There isn't a lot to report, he is still as sweet as I said he is and he is very well behaved. He even knows how to give you his paw. He plays, eats sleeps and gets lovin whenever he can. I don't have a working digital camera to take any updated pictures so I am looking around to borrow one. His picture just doesn't do him justice.

10/23/08 - Capone finally got in to see the vet for a wellness checkup and all his shots. He is now up to date. He weighed in at 118 lbs. and he was heavier than that when I first got him. He is doing very
well and the vet thought for his weight he was in great condition and healthy. Of course all the time the vet was trying to get him to stand to listen to his heart he would sit and give him kisses on his face
while he listened to his heart. Needless to say the vet was very impressed with him.  He continues to do very well going outside and getting his exercise and is enjoying it more and more. Talk about a
gentle giant, he fits the mold so perfectly. He is the type of boy that would fit in with any age group, with or without children and with or without other animals. Capone just gets along with everyone and
everything. His owner did a great job raising him and teaching him and I am sure he is missed by this big boy. I will try to get some up to date pictures of him for his site this week.

10/7/08 - Capone is doing fantastic. For such a big boy he is very gentle and he can really move when he wants to. He is learning it's not so bad going outside. He is having a great time running in the yard.
Capone will chase Sebastian (lg. Shepard) and he can't catch him. Then Sebastian turns around to chase him and he will either sit down or run for his life to the door. He then sits in the doorway and waits for Seb. to walk away and then he runs out the door and it starts again. A good name for him wood have been tank. Sometimes I call him tank, but he's a soft smooshy tank. He can be so gentle and sweet. He will bark now if someone comes to the door and then he heads right into his crate. He
loved meeting my 9 year old grandson and wanted to kiss him forever and follow him everywhere. My grandson told me he didn't like Capone sliming him cause he didn't know him that well but its okay if Tony does. Capone eats great and doesn't ever leave any food behind, he is enjoying the toys and plays with them in the evening. He doesn't hesitate to go outside anymore and is eager to go. Only bad habit he might have is if you have more than one dog and he finds the dish with food in it he will have to eat it. I find he wants to play with the other dogs but he also tries to hump them, a quick correction and he stops.

9/17/08 - Capone is doing great, he is such a good boy. He is definitely a family type boy. He's funny, he doesn't like to go outside. You can tell he hasn't been out in a yard to run by himself at all. I pretend to put his collar on and he comes right outside with me. Tony and I had him running in the yard this week. Its like a heard of elephants running. Don't let his size fool you he can run. He has a good appetite now, he didn't eat much the first two days but he has gotten used to the schedule here. I think he has taken off a few pounds already. I don't give him any canned food. He is eating  a mix of salmon, vegetables, lamb and rice.  He really likes it too.  I take him out every day to do a little running in the yard and I take him to the far end of the yard and he runs back to the house very quickly unless I stay out there with him. He doesn't even attempt to go out a door without you. He really doesn't need a crate but I put him in at night. He goes in no problem. He is a little skittish still, kinda flinches when you go to pet him then he relaxes and eats it up. He has gone from wanting to stay in the kitchen to being in hall of the room I am in. He doesn't bark and I have no problem putting my hand in his dish, he just steps away. What a great family member he is going to be for some lucky home.

9/9/08 - Capone is moving to a BAR foster home this weekend!

7/29/08 - Hi, I'm Capone. My dad died a few years ago, and he spent a lot of time with me. My mom loves me, but she works a lot and is afraid I'm not getting the attention I need. Plus, I'm a strong boy, and sometimes I'm a little too much for her.
I don't live with any dogs, but my skin brother has a Maltese and we get along great. I really like to play with him! I've never really met any dogs closer to my size,
I know basic commands like sit, down, stay, come, go in your cage. In fact, when visitors come over, I've been trained to go in my cage, 'cause I am a very enthusiastic greeter and sometimes people get a little bowled over by my kisses!
I do love people, though, especially my skin brother's kids, who are nine and five. The five year old can sometimes be a little rough with me, but I don't mind.
I am alone in the house when my mom goes to work, but I have no separation anxiety and I NEVER have accidents in the house. I would love an active family who has lots of time to spend with me.
