4/21/10 - Deacon is definitely settling down and chewing more of his toys and less human belongings in our house. We love him very much, but will definitely look for an adult 2 1/2 yrs and up the next time around. For those of you looking to adopt, an adult partially trained boxer is much easier than a cute puppy boxer. TRUST ME!!! That said, Deacon is a joy. He loves the kids who are 5 & 6 and always needs to know where everyone in the house is. He will lay between two rooms so he can keep track of as many people as possible. He is great with our female boxer and is he has a BAR girlfriend who lives two doors away. Lilly was adopted in 11/08 and the two of them just love each others company. They run and play until they are both totally exhausted. Very Cute to watch!! Deacon has no health issues, is completely potty trained, walks well with or without the leash, and loves people. He is always full of energy and boxer wiggles. Thanks again. 10/17/09 - Deacon has become an active part of the family. He is great with the kids and our senior boxer and cat. We are hoping that he is just about finished with the chewing & destructive stage and is now entering the active and respectful stage. He is full of energy and loves long walks and spending time outdoors. I guess we'll see soon enough how much he likes the snow. Last year he was a little young to get an accurate idea. Thanks again for all of your help in bringing Deacon into my family. 1/17/09 - Deacon left with his forever family today. Our house is so quiet without him playing with one of the other dogs. He will definitely be missed by them and us. We wish him and his new family the best of luck. Be Good Little Guy!!!! 1/11/09 - Deacon is pending adoption
1/7/09 - Deacon is full of energy.
Neeko and our girl are exhausted because of him. It is so much fun to
watch. He loves toys and plays with all of them. One day he emptied out
the whole basket and had them all over the living room. When the other
two are done playing with him he will continue playing all by himself.
He will toss the toys in the air and run after them bouncing all around.
1/4/09 - Introducing BAR's newest boxer baby. What a cutie this little guy is. He is everything you could want in a boxer puppy. At only four months he is playful, sweet, affectionate, and friendly. We picked him up yesterday morning in Binghamton and before heading home we stopped at a family members house so that he could play before getting back in the car. While there he played great with his toys and zoomed around their yard in the snow. On the drive home he slept curled up next to me in the backseat the whole way. Once home we introduced Deacon to our boxer girl and they were instant friends. Of course, she eventually had to put him in his place as he kept nipping at her face and legs. He seemed to understand and playtime continued on. We finally separated them so that they could eat and he was super excited about meal time. We had to feed him small amounts at a time so he would slow down. After another nap he got to meet our other foster boy Neeko. They loved each other too. I didn’t think that Neeko would ever stop panting . Deacon definitely enjoyed playing with them and everyone was exhausted. Only once yesterday did Deacon have an accident and that was when he was playing . But he hasn’t had any today. So far so good on that. He isn’t a fan of the cold weather and seems to go potty quickly once outside. Of course we take him out after eating, sleeping and playing. We have learned that Deacon doesn’t seem to know how to climb stairs so we are going to be teaching him that in the coming days. We have gotten him to sit when he comes in the house and before meals. He is crazy about food so teaching him new things isn’t going to be a problem. When I went to the store today I crated him in the same room with the other two and when I left there was no whining, crying or barking. from anyone. Neeko actually moved his crate across the room to be closer to Deacon which was rather funny to see. Deacon is a super boxer puppy and we are enjoying every minute that he is here with us. |
