4/12/11 - Hello BAR. I wanted to give an update on our beautiful Angel who has now been with us for a year! She continues to do wonderful- and is best friends with my 18 month old son. They play together everyday. She is so tolerant and great with him. Its really funny because he copies things she does!  All around she is great! She loves all dogs and kids, has unless energy, but falls asleep on car rides! At night she 's a snugglebug and sleeps undercovers on the big bed!  Thank you BAR for yet another wonderful addition to our family.

12/7/10 - Angel has been with us for alomost 9 months. She is wonderful and we love her so much. She still has allergies but they are much better now then when we got her- I think it took some time to figure out how to treat them. She is absolutly beautiful.

5/20/10 - Angel has been with us for almost 3months. She continues to do great. She is such a beautfil girl and we love her so much.,We are still working on leash manners, but she gets better everyday. her allergies are doing fine- sometimes she breaks out but for the most part they are completely under control:),Angel likes to run circles around our pool- she goes so fast that I swear her legs are off the ground- she's just so FAST! She gets along great with everyone and has many doggie friends on our block!

4/18/10 - Hello- Angel has been here almost a month and it feels like she has been here forever! We love her so much- she is a very sweet girl whom loves everyone- Thank you again-

4/10/10 - Angel is doing great! she has been a very excellent dog. her allergies are doing okay. She had a fun time on Easter eating a lolipop and treats from her basket! She plays with many neighborhood friends, Tootsie, Lucy, and Meaty! She is a very good dog and is very hyper!

3/10 - Angels has been adopted.

3/27/10 - Angel has been such a great girl!We are very happy to have her. She sleeps on my daughter's bed, and she burrows under the blankets. She has a bone that she loves, and she digs around the house to find a spot to hide it.,So far everything is going well, we are working on leash manners, but aside from that, Angel is great!Thank you very much.

3/18/10 - Angels is pending adoption.

3/15/10 - Angel has been with us for 2 weeks now.  She continues to show what a sweet girl she is.  We have had several different people over to the house.  Angel will bark when they arrive but once she sees them entering the house she gets excited and wants to greet them.  She does jump up some, but she will settle down and stop.  A friend of mine brought her boxer over.  Angel was very excited to meet another dog and kept trying to get him to play with her.  It was really funny.  She would tap him on his backside with her paw and then jump back as if to say ?Tag! Your It!? Angel has gotten over any fear she had of the cat and is very interested in him.  I don't think Angel would mean to hurt him but she can play pretty rough and is excitable.  Angel might do better in a home with other larger type dogs and not with smaller animals.  When I took Angel to the vet?s office there were smaller dogs there and Angel was very excited and would have jumped on them in play if given the chance.  She is also more reactive to small dogs when we go on walks.  I marked down that Angel is ?partially? leashed trained.  She does well when she is on our property and if you set the ground rules when starting a walk she will walk near you as long as you don?t let her start to pull.  That is without distractions.  She will pull to try and get to people, dogs and other animals like birds.  It is not in an aggressive manner, and if the other dogs are barking she does not bark back.  ,Angel did well at the vet?s office.  She was very excited by the other animals in the waiting room and needed to be held onto tightly.  She did settle down once I got her into a sit in the corner of the room.  She was very happy to meet the vet and the techs in the office.  She was given some medications for bacteria and yeast in her ears.  I wrap the pill in a treat and she takes it without a problem.  Angel does not like the ear drops and squirms around to try and avoid them.  The first time was a bit of a wrestle but she tolerates it much more now.  It probably helps that her ears are feeling better.,Angel doesn?t like to lie down on the hard wood floors and really wishes we would let her on the furniture.  If the dog beds are in another room she will come over to you and whine so you will get one for her.  Once you do she happily settles down.  Angel is also good on car rides.  We took a ride upstate to visit family.  It is a 2 ? hour ride and she rested most of the trip.  She had a great time meeting new people and running around in the country.  She has a 25 foot retractable leash so she was able to run around some and jump around on the snow banks.  Angel spent most of the ride back sleeping with her head in my 9 year old's lap.,

3/14/10 - Things have been going pretty well here.  Angel really is a great dog.  She has learned a lot while she has been here and is a pretty easy dog to handle.  We are still having trouble in two areas which are making us second guess if having a second dog is the right thing for our family right now.
The dogs are great together most of the time until Reah decides that something is hers.  We took all the toys away and blocked access to certain areas like Gary said, but she will decide a spot like next to the cat's litter box is hers or under a table or a stick in the backyard.  Yesterday morning she got a sock and became extremely nasty towards Angel, we have had issues with Reah food guarding before, but never have I seen her that bad.   Angel doesn't really react to it.  She doesn't aggress back nor does she scare off meanwhile I am trying to separate them and get the sock.  It is frustrating to see Reah be like that when she was normally so submissive to other dogs and worries me that our son might end up in the middle of it.
I have been working with Angel with the "leave it" command hoping that it will help with the cat.  She is doing well and I can put a treat on a table, chair or even the floor and tell her to leave it for a short period of time and she will.  However it is not translating to the cat very well and poor Alien has been living behind the curtain in the living room whenever the dogs are upstairs.  I don't think Angel would mean to hurt him but she can play pretty rough and is easily excitable combing that with a small fuzzy animal in motion and I am not confident in the outcome.  Angel might do better in a home with other larger type dogs and not with smaller animals.  When I took Angel to the vets office there were smaller dogs there and Angel was very excited and would have pounced upon them in play if given the chance.
We have been really torn about what we should do and have been going back and forth about it.  It would be easier if Angel wasn't such a sweet, playful, happy girl.  Chris even commented the other day about how Angel can be so much easier than Reah.  But we think Angel would do better in a home without other small animals.  Another larger dog would be fine, just not a small one.  So if Angel sounds like the kind of dog that would fit into your home, get your applications in now.  I'm sure such a young girl will found a forever home very quickly.

3/2/10 - Angel continues to do well, she is absolutely adorable.  She has been introduced to our lab and they have become fast friends.  They like each other a little too much and I have to be the mean mom who ruins all the fun when I separate them.  The first time Angel met the cat he hissed at her and she jumped about three feet he scared her so.  Now she can't decide if he is scary or if he is the best toy ever, much to the cat's dismay.  I think if he hadn't started hissing at her she would have just sniffed him and been done with it.  Angel is really good about feeding time.  She is learning that she has to sit and wait for an "ok" before she eats it.  She shows no signs of food guarding and I can pick up the kibble pieces she spills and put them back in her bowl while she is eating without a problem.  Actually she will walk away from the food pieces left on the floor.  When I return them to the bowl she will come back over and finish her meal.  Angel's allergies seem to be doing okay.  I've caught her biting at her back legs once or twice, but I have not seen any new raw areas being created and the old irritated areas look to be about the same,She does need work on her obedience.  She knows sit, but is not reliable about doing it when asked.  I started working with her on down today, so that is a work in progress.  She likes to jump on when you come through the door, once you're in and she settles down she stops.  Angel was allowed on furniture before she came to here so she is learning that the furniture is not for dogs.  We have been telling her "off" and redirecting her to one of the many doggy beds in the house and she has been doing okay with that.

3/1/10- Angel came to us yesterday and has been settling in quite well.  She is a very sweet girl who loves to give gentle kisses to say hello.  She met my 9 year old son and although she did jump up on him at first, she jumped down quickly when told and hasn't done it since.  Angel seems to be fully housebroken and has not had an accident in the house. She is also crate trained.  She spent the night in the kennel last night after a few whines she settled in nicely.  She was very excited to be out in the morning and she wiggled her way to the door to go out.
