8/31/10 - Anya is being adopted by her foster mom

8/22/10 - Anya is starting to adjust to my work schedule of 4-5 hours out of the house.  She has done good in the crate for that amount of time during the day.  She still plays hard with Ozzie and likes to play with balls and squeak toys.  She is still eating 6 cups of food a day and does not gain weight.  I'd like to know her secret. :)  I have refrained from letting her have water after 8 PM & letting her out at 1-2 AM hoping it would help with her peeing in the crate at night & barking during the night.  Some nights are better than others.  She went to the vet. and is now UTD on vaccinations.  Her weight is 53 lbs. and could use a few more.  Anya is a sweet, petite girl and very energetic.  She prefers to play outside and box with Ozzie and then needs to be outside by herself to remind her to potty while she is out there.  I think a bit more training with her will fine tune her progress.

7/11/10 - Anya arrived here last week.  She is a bit skinny, needing about 5 lbs. on her.  She is eating 6 cups of food a day to try to put some weight on her.  She has some puppy behavior that needs some training.  She is a little shy at first, but is sweet, friendly, and full of energy.  She plays a bit rough with the other dogs here and a few of them have chosen to ignore her.  One of my male boxers bats her back real well.  Unfortunately Anya still pees in the crate when she knows you leave the house, so that needs some work, as I think she has a little of separation anxiety as she paces in the crate as well.  She walks well on a leash with some reminder corrections and has not been on the counters or table.

6/23/10 - Anya is doing much better. She hasn't had any accidents in the house. She still sometimes pees in her crate, but thats only when she is left home alone. She is only crated when I go out, otherwise she is very good in the house. She has a lot of energy and would like a home that would play with her and give her exercise. If there is another pet in the house she may try to assert herself as pack leader. Mine won't put her in her place so she bullies him and I keep them seperate for the most part. She loves to run and play in the yard with you and will chase any bird, squirrel or rabbit that dares to enter the yard. Never cathing them, just chasing. Helps keep the crows out of the yard. She is a girl that is very loving and hates being by herself. When I go out I put her in her crate and leave Tony in the room with her to help her not be so scared to be there alone.  It helps. I think she would love a playmate.

5/5/10 - Unfortunately Anya has not worked out in her adopted home and is therefore looking for a new forever home.  They are having trouble with her not leaving their male dog alone. She goes after him and blocks him from going where she doesn't want him to go.  So a home where someone is home most of the time to supervise this young pup would probably be the best situation and a home with older children only.  She still needs some work on house training, as she still has accidents when she gets anxious. But most importantly,...STRONG PACK LEADERSHIP is a absolute necessity.

2/10 - Anya has been adopted

1/31/10 - Here's an update on Anya.  She is now going in her crate on her own, sometimes you will find her sleeping in there. At night she sleeps in her second bed with the women in the house.  The kids adore her. She can be quite excitable at times and has to be reminded to settle down.I am sure once she is spayed that will help a smidge. Loves everyone, has a nice bark to let you know when someone is here. If she thinks she is alone in the house she has a totally different bark, checking to see if there is a response. She has had numerous accidents in the house, more out of spite than anything and she is doing much better. She has been left alone for a period of  hours and no accidents in the crate. Now we are leaving her loose when we go out and she is fine. Only gone for a few hours but she is doing so well, am very proud of her.  She is on IAMs, it seems to work best with her digestive system.  Still terrorizes Tony. So they don't go outside together unsupervised. I am sure she would love a playmate that can keep up with her. She also thinks every toy that comes into the house is hers. I don't know how she knows theres a new toy coming out of the bag but she is right there to get it. She is a great girl and a smart, sassy girl.  She is loved very much. I think she has adjusted very well in a short time.

11/18/09 - Decided to introduce Anya to one of my crates. So I brought a crate up to the kitchen and set it up and left it there open and empty for most of the day. Later I added bedding and let my Tony go in and out of it at will. So around supper time I put her in the crate for 5 minutes. She stood the entire time but did not cry or pee. The next time she went into the crate she stayed for about 15 minutes. Still no problem. She now will lay down in it and sleep. She is fine to stay in there while we are eating dinner. If we all leave the room she will give out a bark. She doesn't bark much, only when she wants to know where we are. She is hesitant when a male she hasn't seen enters the home but warms up quickly. She has now learned what its like to cuddle on a couch and she will sleep right there or lay up against you. I am feeding her about 6 cups of food a day. I pretty much let her eat all she wants to try to get some meat on her bones. Every time you leave her site and reappear she is all wiggles and happy like she hasn't seen you in a week. Still working on her manners, she likes to jump on people and scratch at the glass door. Stubborn little girl, but for the most part she seems to learn very quickly. Am working up to leaving her alone in the crate with Tony loose for a ride around the block and see how she does. Keep watching her progress.

11/12/09 - Well Anya has been here five days now. Tony has had enough of her already. She has way too much energy for him. She has had a few pee accidents in the house. Its usually if we are in rooms with the doors closed and she can't get to anyone. She does not like being out of site of people. She also doesn't like going out in the dark. I have a fenced in yard but she wants no part of it after dark unless we go out with her and she is quick to want back in the house. She loves to play outside in the day time and she even rings the bells at the back door to go out. She has her moments of high spirit and stubborness but if we are persistant she finally gives in. Anya seems to learn quickly and at times she is so quiet you forget she is here. This is a very velcrow girl and those eyes, who could resist. The first few days were tough getting her to eat, she would take a bite and go check to see where we were. Very messy eater at first. Now she is putting down at least 5 cups a food and not quite so messy.  In the next week we are going to try to leave her in the house alone long enough to drive around the block to see how she does. Oh and let me tell you, the weather has been so great we have been in the yard clearing things out for winter and she saw the hose. Holy cow, she was a riot. She kept biting at the water and sticking her head right in there. No fear of water. Keep watching for the newest shananagans on this girl.

11/7/09 - Anya is here. She made her grand entrance into the house and met Tony and I thought she was going to fall over she was wiggling so much. I took them right outside to the yard and they were off. Even Tony seemed pleased to meet her. Its the first one he has done this with. She follows him around and she has also taken to Dylan (11 yr. old boy) So we have decided to let her sleep with the boys in their room. She is petite and soft and so far seems very happy to be here and not afraid or skidish. Tony must have made a great impression on her. She will keep him young. She loved the dried duck treats and ate a few in the car on the ride home. Great in the car. Full of energy, she will keep us hopping I am sure. Dylan had her in the backyard playing frisbee already and now they have gone to the store quick and she wanted to go with them. Keep your fingers crossed that I let this one be adopted other than by me. Will update soon.
