1/10 - Gentle Ben has been adopted

12/27/09 - Sorry it has been so long between updates.  Ziggy has been keeping us on our toes.  He is a rascal.  He looks up at us with his tongue lodged firmly between his teeth in a head so large he should be tipping over head first.  He is so cute.,,He has a bulldog body with a boxer head and the whole thing is hilarious.  I brought him to our vet and a little girl standing by the door looked at him and started laughing.  Luckily Ziggy has a thick skin.  Which by the way has cleared up.  He arrived with a rash on his stomach and infected ears.  He has since been back to the vet and declared cured. The vet said he is fortunate in that his mix has kept him from having some of the problems bulldogs have.  His legs are sturdier and his muzzle is longer than typical bulldogs so that he should avoid some of the more common problems.,,However, like a bulldog he loves to play, play, play.  Even our boxer Duncan gets exhausted sometime.  They do play tug and wrestle and we have to stop the more rambunctious play for although Duncan is twice Ziggy's height they are almost the same weight and Ziggy's head is like a wrecking ball.,,I will send photos when I can figure it out.  Ziggy looks just like a cartoon version of a dog.  When he sleeps he snores so loudly that I can't believe my son can sleep through it.  He fell asleep on my pillow one day and as he breathed out his cheek did that cartoon noise you hear as someones cheeks wobble back and forth.  He is a riot.  We love him very much and are going to make him a permanent member of our family.

11/30/09 - We picked up Ben on Friday and had our own little Thanksgiving with the little fellow.  He is such a character.  He was happy to see us and would be happy to see anyone I think.  My fourteen year old sat in the back with him on the ride back from Long Island and they both thoroughly enjoyed the ride.  Ben did not seem to answer to that name, is now called Ziggy, which he seems to like, had some toys but was much more interested in my son's water bottle.  He is a very sweet boy and I have yet to hear him bark even when our other two furry babies start a symphony of barks and howls.  Today we put him in my daughters room while I dealt with a plumbing emergency and he proceeded to rip her poster which was lying on the floor to shreds, then while she attemped to tape it he figured it'd be a great idea to roll around on it while it was on her bed while smiling up at her with the tip of his tongue lodged between his teeth.  That is quite a kisser he's got.  Duncan, my boxer, and he love each other and follow each other around everywhere.  Today when they went outside Duncan just looked puzzled when he found Ben sitting on the backyard swing relaxing.  I thought Duncan was nutty, but Ben takes the cake.  We are enjoying him very much.  I'll send more news after he gets a checkup on Thursday.

11/21/09 - Ben has been a perfect guest so far.  He found a toy and has been flipping it around.  He has been quiet, has not had any accident and sits on command.  He loves to be petted and be by me.  He is really cute!!!!!He has been good with my 2 guys and does fine with them.  He loves to be walked on the leash and is very curious. Its going to be hard to see him go.
