2/1/10 - Frieda has been adopted by her foster home!!

1/20/10 - Frieda has been doing great. She has decided that the snow isn't so bad, she can actually run much faster in the snow. She whips around the yard chasing the other dogs. She is super fast!! She has been coming out of her shell so much. She feels very comfortable while at home, she now wrestles and boxes with the others on a regular basis. We do take her out to friends' houses all the time and she seems to enjoy herself she jumps right up on their couches like they are hers. She will lay there contently for as long as we are there, always keeping an eye on us. She is very good in the car, just sits there and looks out the window not making a peep. For the most part she is the best dog we currently have. Such a love bug!!!

12/23/09 - Frieda has been with us for a while now and because of that we forgot that she had never seen snow before. She does NOT like it!!! It is way too cold for her. She likes to be warm all the time, even with her jacket on she runs out to do her business and then is immediately back at the door ready to come in. We did take her Christmas tree hunting with us, she didn't leave my side. She and Brody picked out a massive tree. They had a good time checking all the trees out. I can't wait until Christmas and she gets to open all her presents.  Otherwise Frieda has been behaving herself. We still lock her in her crate when we are going out or at work. She is much quieter now, only whining to her friend Sadie across the room. I think she does it to be sure she's not alone. She still sleeps in our bed just not as much she would rather start out on the couch with the boys and come in with us in the morning. I don't mind she keeps me warm, although I could do without all the kicking. Oh well the price you pay for a baby. She will make that someone special love her very much.

11/16/09 - Frieda has been with us for a little over a month now. When Frieda arrived she was walking, ........well hopping ,she wouldn't even attempt to put her front leg down. She was all skin and bones, no muscle tone at all, covered in scars. And she had an assortment of worms. Her first week she weighted a measly40lbs. She has been eating  three meals a day, like a champ and now weighs at least 50lbs . She is really starting to look like a real dog. She has been using her foot more than before but is still reluctant to use it. Some days she uses more than others and on occasion she even runs on it.,Frieda has a face that you will never forget, she is so eye-catching. She will not be in foster for long. She greets every person with the same loving hugs and kiss, surprising since people have been so mean to her in her past. And when I say hug I meanlike a human would, she will literally climb up you so that she can be eye level and wrap her arms around your neck. What a love bug. She is great with children, perhaps not little ones, she may plow them over with hugs.,She is house trained, but beware when leaving her alone while you are out. She will counter surf until everything is on the floor. She tears through the dumbest things, a tissue box, a book, socks, really anything that we find of value. She never destroys it only tears it up and opens its package. She will also barkfor the first 20 or so minutes after you leave her, yes we have timed her. Once you arrive back home she is all wiggles and excited to see you. Be ready for those hugs and kisses!! Once you sit down she is either on top of you or too close for comfort. She will remain there for the remainder of the evening, good luck getting up without her following. She also likes to sleep in the bed with you. She sleeps right on top of you, she has to be touching you. She gets a long great with our cats, she lets them keep to themselves but will be more than happy to cuddle with them in the bed at night to get closer to us. She was not so good with our other dogs initially, but after some getting use to she now gets excited to see them as well. Frieda is very timid of new dogs and will growl at them and even appears as though she would attack them. Once she has seen them a few times, "all on leashes", she seems to relax  a bit. Within time I think she will adjust to other dogs. Smaller rather than larger, and males more than females, seeing she wants to be alpha. ,Frieda walks excellent on the leash and knows simple commands. She has a very fast recall. She never wanders too far, probably for fear of losing you. ,She truly is a great dog. She may never have full use of her right leg but she definitely makes up for it with cuteness. She is so loveable that you would have to be crazy to not want her. She truly is amazing...,Check out her pics... more to come

10/28/09 - Frieda goes for her second heartworm treatment next week. She just went in for her second treatment of tapeworms, hopefully they are all gone now. She is getting much better with our other dogs now. She is getting very restless now that she is feeling much better. I hope she continues on this path.
