6/16/10 - Through no fault of his own this handsome, young boy is being returned to BAR and needs a foster home. Turbo is a super energetic and playful boy who needs a consistent and confident leader. He needs someone who is committed to following up with his training needs. With proper leadership and guidance this smart boy learns quickly. If you have the time, energy and leadership to take on a sweet, young Boxer boy please offer to foster Turbo. 2/14/10 - Turbo has been adopted Turbo has found a wonderful forever home. He just left us to go home with a family that has a young female Boxer and 2 children. This is the perfect family for him. They have raised two Boxers from puppyhood to adult, and are prepared to take on his training and his E N E R G Y! 2/9/10 - Turiso is pending adoption 2/2/10 - Turbo is such a happy guy. He is making progress here everyday. He has graduated to closely supervised free time in the house. He likes to play with his toys or take a nap on the couch (oops- yeah the couch is his favorite spot). He loves to snuggle up with one of his people and fall asleep. I think that it is safe to say that he is house trained- WITH CLOSE SUPERVISION. He is still not ready to just be loose and left to his own devices, but he will get there. He is learning the kidney bean dance and gets very excited when one of us comes home. He wiggles and dances and sits for attention. This great boy is looking for a great home with the time to fininsh his training. 1/29/10 - Turbo continues to thrive here. He has graduated to being off leash while inside with us. He is still under careful watch but he has proven that he is a good boy. He is beginning to make more obvious signals that he needs to got out. We have blown the no furniture rule and turned Turbo into a snuggle bug. He loves to lay on the couch with one of us. He will fall almost instantly asleep if allowed to. This boy is so sweet, smart, cute and wonderful. Turbo's second doggie class went well. He seemed to be able to focus quicker and really wants to please. Turbo is still a work in progress but he is progressing very very nicely. 1/24/10 - Just a very quick update here. For the very first time since he came here Turbo just asked to go outside. He was sitting with me and started whining and trying to get my attention. When I asked he if you needed to go out he got excited and looked at the door. I took him out and he pee'd "his brains out" :o I know this seems like a silly thing to report but trust me it is wonderful news. These are the baby steps that we are looking for and I am a very proud "mamma" tonight. 1/23/10 - Turbo has had a very busy week. He went to work with me one day. I was a bit worried that he'd be a major distration because he needs so much attention. As it turns out there was no need to have worried. He was EXCELLENT. I took a crate with me and never even set it up. He played with some of the toys there but mostly just hung out and watched what everyone was up to. He barked at new people entering the office but quickly stoped when told to go say hello. ,He also had his first training class. He was very "on guard" when he entered the room full of other dogs. He had a very hard time focusing on his handler when the room energy was excited. But as soon as the room was under control he listened like a dream. He can focus on his handler and do as asked like a pro. He knows his name, sit, down, wait and "watch me". He is so smart and wants to please.,Turbo needs a family with the patience and time for a normal, happy, adorable, playful and SUPER SWEET Boxer boy.

(Turismo) wrestling. 1/15/10 - Turismo or Turbo as we have been calling him, is doing great here. Turismo was a mouthful for me and he responds perfectly to Turbo. This boy is a very nice Boxer pup. He has been a very good house guest. He is however a puppy and like all puppies needs constant supervision. He is getting interative outside play several times a day totaling no less than 90 minutes a day. Sometimes this is just us out there with him throwing his ball and keeping him moving and sometimes we include our Boxer Bailey in the mix. When we first take him out he is on a leash and we tell him to "get to business". Once all of his "business" has been taken care of we let him off the leash to play in our yard (fenced in). He is very good at entertaining himself and he loves to throw his ball into the deeper snow and then pounce on it and push it around. When it's time to come in he goes back on the leash. Inside sometimes he is out of the crate but on his leash and right with us. He loves to have us sit on the floor and play with him. He will roll over for belly rubs, ear scratches and cuddles. When we don't have time to supervise him he goes into his crate. His crate has become a much more enjoyable place for him since his arrival. He is "served" most of his meals in there in a treat ball that he has to roll around to deliver the goods. Sometimes we put his kibble in a gynormous Kong, fill the plug with peanut butter and then we freeze it. No matter how he gets fed it is always in his crate and he ALWAYS has to work to get it. Turbo is a puppy. Boxer puppies need your time, your attention, TONS of exercise and mental stimualtion. In return you get a well behaved, happy, sweet and playful Boxer. If you have what a puppy needs then this boy is waiting for you. 1/12/10 -Turismo has been getting a ton of outside play time here. He loves to play fetch. If you throw the ball he WILL bring it back for another go. He is a typical Boxer puppy- full of energy. When he is inside he is always right with us on a leash so that we can watch him. If we can't watch him then he goes in his crate which is in our main living space. He is a good boy about going in his crate. Sometimes he will whine or bark a bit but mostly he is quiet. We have been feeding him several small meals all in a treatball so that he has to work for his food. Turismo is a sweet guy that is well on his way to becoming a great companion. Don't miss out on this boy. 1/10/10 - Turismo is now in his new foster home. He is adjusting nicely to the change and has made new friends here. He and his foster brother Bailey had a fun play in the snow yesterday. Check them out on the you tube video link on this page. Turismo is very sweet and I am pleasantly surprised at how well he listens (most of the time). He begins a basic manners class in a week. Every pup needs these classes and it is time for Turismo to begin his. He will need a patient and confident pack leader to help him continue to become a great companion. If you think you have the right "Stuff" for a pup then apply today to adopt this beautiful bouncey baby boy. Watch for frequent updates as we get to know him better. yard 1/9/10 - I need to update with you that Turismo does not mind getting a bath at all. My 10 yr old daughter got him in the tub and washed him up and he was a real trooper.. He loved it. He also walks better on a leash and does not jump on people like he used to. He will also go into his crate on command, now, but will have a barking fit. He will stop after a little or long bit, but usually stops. He still needs someone to keep a keen eye on him because he will still have accidents, but we are working on that. Bucky the stuffed horse did NOT survive a tug of war, unfortunately, Turismo really loved Bucky =) When he is fully trained to his potential, he will make a great buddy and companion. 12/4/09 - Well Hello everyone. Turismo, aka: Boy Boy, made it to my home last Saturday. We have had alot of adjusting to do but he has come a LONG way already is the past 6 days. He is really starting to comprehend verbal commands and loud firm discipline. When he came, everything went in one ear and out the other, not good. He is very much a puppy and wants to be active and mischevious ALL the time. His level of hyperness and subsided quite a bit due to lots and lots of exercise. We have a large fenced in area and he can run and play til his legs fall off. He was introduced to my pack and has been great. They all play together as if they have known eachother all along. My older girl gets after him when she has had enough or doesnt like is "pouncing" ways and he most of the time respects her and immediately leaves her alone. He is walking better on a leash but still has a ways to go. The choker collar works best on him and I would reccomend it until he gets older and calms down. He rides real nice... likes toys to play with and even humans to chew on!! :) for entertainment. We had our greyhound races with him. I could tell you alot of funny stories from the moment he stepped foot in my driveway until now. Just put it this way, have a good grip on the leash, always be aware of your surroundings and be paying attention, cuz as soon as he knows he can jump, jerk, pull and spazz out to get away...... your in for the run of your life!!! And he is a pain to catch. Hence is name is Turismo. He has the speed of a Ferrari and can prove it.. After the first 2 days, the Cirque De Soliel in our house calmed down. Anyways, your in for a treat. He knows some commands, sit, shake, laydown and "NO". I honestly have him almost trained from jumping on people. He likes to counter surf so someone needs to work alot with him on that. He managed to check out the garbage and doesnt like to hear "NO" about that either.. He is a great little guy and with some final touches done on his training, he is going to make a fantastic companion. I do not allow him on furniture only because I do not want to teach him something his forever family might not like. He loves has tennis ball we got him, a empty plastic milk jug (only last merely minutes, lol), and we gave him a cute little stuffed horse named "Bucky" that fits in his mouth perfectly. He has totally adopted Bucky and its so cute how he plays with him so gently. Even combs his mane and tail out with his teeth. So this is Turismo. He will be seeing the vet next week and will be neutured at that time. You will love him!!! |
