5/22/10 - I almost forget to do updates on Ziggy. He fits in so well and seems like he has been here forever! He drives us a little crazy at his excessive barking (only when he hears something) but is learning the "quiet" command quickly. He is a WONDERFUL watch dog (with his bark only)!!! He did graduate beginner training class this month and will be going on to advanced beginners!! I have noticed a weakness in his hind legs that I thought at first was because he was so thin. Nothing terrible but I will be taking him to the vet to have checked. Other than that things are wonderful. Ziggy loves cuddling, playing and car rides and we love him soooo much. 4/15/10 - Well Ziggy has been with us for almost 2 months. He continues to gain courage ( which he had none of). He LOVES his car rides and has learned that he has to sit in one seat instead of jumping from front to back. He started his obedience training two weeks ago and does perfect there. Now that the weather is nicer we will start doing more outdoor training as that adds more disruptions. He hasn't had to sleep in his crate for a while now. He sleeps in his favorite bed till early in the morning sneaks upstairs to cuddle with us. He is such a wonderful pup and a very important part of our family. We love him. 3/1- - Ziggy has been adopted 2/28/10 - Ziggy is pending adoption with his FTA home. 2/22/10 - Day six, Ziggy is becoming more at ease with his surroundings. As since day 1, he is great with our children and gets along well with our two other dogs. He is always willing to play and loves trying to get our other dogs to join in. Although being a puppy, he sometimes gets a little too carried away with himself and he has to be corrected so he plays nice. Ziggy took his first bath this past Saturday and was at ease in the tub. He also had his nails trimmed and was very calm during the process. He is eating like a pig and seems to be adding a few well needed pounds. He is starting to bounce around like a typical boxer and is a joy to watch. 2/19/10 - Ziggy continues to be a sweet and loving dog. He is great with our three kids and does not seem to be affected by the arrival of their friends or the noise they bring to the house. I took him for a walk today, boy, what an adventure - he did not do very well. He is very much a puppy as he likes to run around, but settles down when spoken to. Being in a crate has not been a problem for Ziggy, he finds comfort in it although more and more he seems to want to be with everyone else in the house.
2/18/10 - Ziggy is very sweet and seems to be adjusting to his
new enviroment well. We have been working very hard on potty training
and has had no accidents since he has been here. He is unsure of himself
but looks for verbal acceptance. He is very skinny and has
poor muscle tone
but so far is not a huge eater. This week I will spend plumping him up.
Because of his cough he is resting a lot. Hopefully next week we can
work on leash walking as he has not had any experience. Ziggy will
probably will make an excellent pet in almost any home however he does
love other dogs and likes people around. |
