6/10/10 - Bruno has been adopted.  Bruno is good to go and is enjoying his first night at his new home.  He is all settled in and I know they decided his birthday is today, so they bought him a bunch of toys and a nice bone to chew on - he's in heaven.

6/30/10 - Bruno is pending adoption

6/17/10 - Well, now that I can express myself, let me introduce the real Bruno!  I am so happy to be in a home with a person that gives me lovins, security and structure - I can finally relax!  It's been so long since I've wiggled my butt and let me nubby just fly - I feel like life is starting all over again.  My new mommy has a lot of 2-legged friends and likes to show me off - they all think I'm awesome.  I think meeting new people is fun, and since someone taught me manners, I don't jump or get super excited, I just lean and wait for lovins! And for over an hour last night I got to play with a 6 year old two legged creature - and that was really fun.  He kept throwing a toy and I kept bringing it back to him - woo hoo - freedom!!!!  It was hard to control my excitment, but I sat like he asked and waited anxiously for the toy to be thrown, never did I push him or make him do what I wanted.  Afterwards I rested my head on his lap and he gave me belly rubs, life was good!    My new mommy has no other dogs and I love the attention of being the only fur child in the house!  My mom keeps introducing me to other dogs around the neighborhood - they are all okay - but I'm not quite sure I realy want to play with them.  I'm going hiking with another boxer tonight, maybe I'll start to relax a bit more once I get to understand them better, but in the meantime, I'm comfortable ignoring them.    Oh, and did I mention I LOVE LOVE LOVE to go for walks.  I love them so much I don't pull or stress my mommy out - I am just so happy to walk and check out the scenery.  Mom says I'm the best walker she has ever had - and that says a lot!!!!!  The crate....  I don't like it.  I'll go in if you really make me, and I'll even behave inside, but I'd rather have the run of the houe.  And can you blame me - I was stuck in crates for a long time, and I felt forgotten!  Mom says as long as I keep being good outside the crate, she will let me prove that I can be trusted - so far so good!   Time to take a nap and did I mention relax.....

6/14/10 - We picked Bruno up last night from his too long of a stay at the shelter.  He seemed very "shell shocked", not sure what was going on or why he was in the car, but he did not fuss or make a peep the 60 minutes back to my house.  Slept most of the way except for the occasional long traffic light which prompted him to stand and check out the scenery!  Because of his recent living conditions, he was a bit on the stinky side, so we decided to give him a bath before letting him check out the house.  He very very calming stood while we bathed him with warm soapy water.  Didn't make any fuss, just quietly stood there until we rinsed and dried him - such a good boy!!!!  He enjoyed checking out the house, but was more interested in what the humans were doing - especially if any food was involved.  He knows people food!  He is the most refined beggar though, no whining, jumping, or paw swatting, just sat there hoping something would fall on to the floor!  Once he realized he wasn't getting anything, he politely laid on the floor, making sure you didn't leave the room without him.,,Went for a nice leisurely walk this morning - he is great on the leash!!!  Enjoyed "stalking" the squirrels and rabbits that we encountered, but did not lunge on the leash and quickly "gave up" the stealth walk when I gave him verbal correction.  He has definitely been taught how to walk nicely on a leash and is very use to seeing critters during his walks.  He politely went in to his crate with a peanut butter kong and gave me zero hassle.  It's been less than 24 hours, but so far this boy is nothing but a gentleman!
