12/19/04 - Buster has been adopted

12/16/04 - Unfortunately Rosie has gone back to not welcoming Buster into our home.  She is very aggressive with him and we find that for both their sakes, we are going to have to return Buster to BAR.  Buster IS NOT the one causing the problems, he is the perfect dog.  He gets along well with everyone, humans, other dogs and even cats.  We would love to keep him, but it is just not right to keep him in an environment that is not safe for him.  We hope that BAR can find Buster a home ASAP.

11/14/04 - Well, we had Buster for 2 months and he has fit in well with our family. At first our other boxer Rosie was not as welcoming. You should see Buster and Rosie together. Rosie is always giving him kisses and they love to sleep together. Rosie is the boss. Buster is such a good boy with good manners. Being a 75lbs dog, he thinks he's a lap dog. He always has to be near you, and his big brown eyes on you. Our daughter loves Buster, he is so laid back with her. When daddy sits in the rocker the Big Boy has no problem climbing and sitting on his lap. We all love him. We'll send more updates soon.

9/12/04 - Buster has been adopted.

9/8/04 - Buster is Pending adoption

9/1/04 - If you have loads of energy, Buster is the pup for you!!! If someone or some pup is around ,it is playtime. Buster and Zeus have even gotten standoffish Lucy-she's a GS Pointer- to boxer play, which is quite a sight at 6am in our living room. He'll help himself to the toys in the basket and bring it to you to play, if one of the other dogs take it away, no problem, "I know where there are lots more!!" and gets another toy!

So far we haven't seen or sensed any grumpiness from him, we can move his food bowl with no problem, took a bone away yesterday without incident. Haven't tested him with our dogs' food bowls as they can be territorial with their food, so they all get fed at the same time but in different areas of the kitchen. He is such a happy pup, always wagging that great tail!!

8/29/04 - Buster has been visiting us for 1 week now. He continues to be a real sweet pup--doesn't beg at the table, housebroken, crate trained, obedient and gives great boxer kisses!! He has even won over Zeus--we have a lot of boxer play going on, inside and out. While we are in the house he now has freedom to roam everywhere but the bedrooms. He is a gentleman and stays out of trouble--no marking, no getting on the furniture. He does try to climb onto foster dad's lap---he's going to be too big to be a lap dog!! Consider making your home his forever home!!!!!

8/27/04 - Buster had his visit to the vet yesterday. He was neutered, is now UTD on vaccinations, fecal negative and heartworm negative. Right now, he's feeling a bit sorry for himself and not being his usual bouncy self, just
lounging around, giving you soulful boxer puppy eyes. But not a grumble from him, maintains his sweet disposition-you should hear that tail of his thumping in the crate or on the floor when you speak to him or give him some love.
Oh, yes, as you may have noted, I under estimated his weight. He weighed in at 72lbs yesterday and he is on the thin side right now. He is going to be a big boy!!

8/25/04 - Buster has been with us for several day now. He continues to be a real sweetheart-always so happy to see you. Somewhere along the line, someone has given Buster some obedience training--sits, downs, takes treats gently, gives paw, needs work on stay. My husband had walked him several times the 1st two days he was here and said he walked really good. I walked him yesterday--he is GREAT on leash, except for a great interest on a passing squirrel.
He continues to get along with our pups. Our female continues to ignore him and the male doesn't tolerate him well in the house but outside they get along just fine. We have no idea how he would do with cats as we don't have one.
Tomorrow, Thursday, is big day for Buster. He is going to visit Dr. Fischer for a checkup, to get UTD on vaccinations and, yes, be neutered. Then he will really be ready for his forever home!!

- Buster is our very 1st foster. What a mush!!! He exudes affection, always ready to give boxer kisses. What a wiggle butt, seems constantly happy.
So far he's getting along with all of us. He really likes my husband a lot, always bringing a toy to him to play with. Lucy, our GSP, is standoffish so there isn't a lot of interaction between them right now, but there have been absolutely no problems. He and Zeus, our dominate male Boxer, are doing quite well. We have quite a bit of boxer play going on-always under supervision, of course.   Buster goes into his crate with no problem, sometimes as a get away with the door open. Last nite he went in, we shut the door and he settled in--heard 1 whimper during the night.
He listens well, his previous owner has done some training with him. We are thinking he is housebroken--haven't given him too much chance to mess up. His crate is clean and he hasn't had an accident in the kitchen yet.
Buster will be going to the vet on Thursday AM to have his vet eval. and be neutered. He does quite a bit of marking, so this should take care of the problem
He has natural ears and a long natural tail. He is really a very sweet pup that will make a great addition to someone's home. Get your applications in soon!!!
