Pertinent Information 12/12/04 - Rocky is doing great. We love him so much and he is very happy here. He and Mugsy are absolutely in love. He is great with our kids. He still has some trouble with some of the other dogs we usually pal around with. He doesn't get invited on many playdates. I'm just starting to leave him out of the crate when I go out. He has proven to be pretty well behaved so far. You are welcome to visit him any time you are passing through the area. Thanks for all of your help!! Happy Holidays!! Jen 9/12/04 - Rocky has been adopted.
8/6/04 - My bouncy friend Rocky was neutered this
week and he did just fine - I don't even think he's noticed! He is such
a good boy! He's taken some time to adjust to the dogs in our house and
still has his moments with them but he loves, loves, loves people.
Wiggles and bounces and dances around when you give him just a little
attention. He's a super boy to have around kids - he seems very aware of
what he's doing with his body. Rocky doesn't bang up against you or body
slam like some fur kids do when they get excited. He might bounce with
all four legs off the ground as high as my shoulder but he doesn't put
his feet on. The people who owned Rocky say that he jumped their fence
and I can see how that could happen with the springs he has in his legs.
We have not had a problem with him at all trying the fence here I think
if you left him 7/31/04 - Rocky has been with us almost a week now and he is just a great guy! He loves every person he meets - he's very exuberant in his greetings but he keeps four on the floor and just kidney beans in circles. Rocky is getting along fairly well with the female dog in our house and with our senior boston terrier but he and our male are still not friends. I think Rocky would prefer to be your only dog but the more people in the house the better! He just loooooves people. He and I have been on some walks together and he's so happy to be out and about so if you're active he'd be your guy. He also loves our kids so if you have some of those in your house that'd make him happy too! Rocky is going in to be neutered on Monday and then he'd love to hear from his forever home. We've been hoping for a sunny day to get some pictures of him but we might have to settle for indoors with a flash. He's such a handsome boy that I know you'll fall in love with him right away! 7/27/04 - Rocky is starting to settle into our routine - he's spending more time than he would like in his crate but it's better than his other option. Rocky is marking in the house at this point, although he does seem to be housebroken he doesn't 'get' that it's not ok to pee on the vacuum cleaner. He's going in for his pre-anesthesia visit with the doc today and then he'll have his neuter done. That should help eliminate his need to mark. Rocky and I had a lovely walk yesterday morning I did use a prong collar on him but he did not pull with it one bit - he was so happy to walk with me and wanted to check out everything along the way. Rocky continues to get along well with our female boxer, Daisy, and our senior Boston terrier, the other male dog in the house is not accepting him as well as we could've hoped but we've got plenty of time for them to get used to each other. 7/27/04 - Rocky came to us from one of our favorite shelters downstate where he was picked up as a stray. His family was contacted and they didn't want him back because they say he'd been jumping the fence. Poor guy - maybe if they'd had him neutered his interest in running off would've been curbed too. We'll take care of that hormone problem for him though ;-). So far he's proven himself to be very sweet - he lived in a home with children and was thrilled to meet mine. He's a very handsome dark brindle - not quite a reverse but lots of stripes with a white stripe on his nose and white chest and paws. He knows how to sit and he shakes hands nicely. He's strong on the leash and will need work with that. So far he's met our dogs briefly and gets along very well with our Snarky female - he's had a couple of disagreements with our male but he keeps trying to mount him and Satchel isn't ok with that. That's another thing that neutering might help - his need to assert himself with other dogs. Other than that he's just been a great boy. We'll do more updates soon but I don't think he'll be with us very long at all!

From Dina:
I transported Rocky from Staten Island to Troy, NY and he was wonderful! That morning he met my 6 year old son and the rest of my family and he was so personable and happy. He rode in the car with noreal issues and was a joy to be with on our 3 1/2 hour trip. This boy will make some family very happy.. Good luck Rocky!!
