10/16/06 - Blaze continues to do well and loves playing out on the beach.  She does have a tendency to run with her nose to the sand then has to sneeze it out but continues on.  We have noticed that she is very timid around loud noises and will go the opposite direction until we stop and talk to her letting her know everything is okay and that she is safe.
She is a 72 pound power house.  She has gotten really muscular and fit but still thinks she is a lap dog and doesn't recognize her own strength.  Blaze is doing quite well with her running, currently her longest run is 8.5 miles. People stop us on the boardwalk to visit and comment about how beautiful she looks.
Blaze recently finished obedience training.  She was the star of the class as the instructor frequently used her to show the other dogs what to do.  Of course being the dominant female that she is, had no problem leading the pack!

7/16/06 - Blaze has been adopted.

7/15/06 - Blaze is pending adoption

7/3/06 - Blaze continues to do very well.  She goes to the beach on a daily basis and has gotten a lot more comfortable with the sounds, people and other animals around her.  We are still working on the leash training but after being out most of the weekend, have seen some improvement.  She is running about 1.5 - 2 miles right now, I think she can go further but the weather is a little warm so we don't push much.  We continue to
monitor her right hip and it seems to be doing okay with all the exercise.  Her hip only pops when going up or down stairs.
She is in a current foster to adopt situation and is not available for adoption.

Blaze is such a smart and obedient dog.  It is obvious she was worked with and really loved at her previous home.  She knows commands and words like Sit, Eat, Potty, Slow, Toys, Box, and of course, NO!  She is
unbelievably great with the crate.  Sometimes during the day when she's tired she just goes in by herself and sleeps.  She is funny about leaving the door open though.  I will close the door and she will walk by and open it.  We played that game three times one day, I finally caved.  We have been making friends on the beach and haven't had any issues with socializing or her being aggressive.  We are also still working on her getting into and out of the vehicle.  She knows when we are going somewhere and seems excited but just isn't confident enough to jump in.  Getting out is a little easier.

We bought a new bag of dog food for Blaze but I am not sure we got the right flavor.  We purchased the Chicken flavor but she is now turning her nose up at it and yesterday she had a bout with diarrhea.  Last night I had to put a little peanut butter in her food and she ate most of it but this morning she didn't hardly touch the food.

I just checked in on Blaze and she's sleeping on our bed!  Chuck gets up early and takes her out then she comes back in and jumps into bed with me.  Some mornings she wants to play but others we just sleep.  As you can tell, we are really enjoying Blaze and love her so much already.

6/27/06 - Since Blaze arrived in our home she has been great.  She didn't eat her first night but by the
next day, she was fine.  There have been no accidents in the house, I take her out about every two
hours and if she needs to go sooner, she lets me know.  Her first walk out on the beach was like a
kid in a candy store.  There was so much to see, hear, and smell.  We just let her enjoy and get
use to her surroundings.  I am leash training with her and that has been a bit of a challenge but
she's slowly understanding that it's a part of being able to go outside.

6/25/06 - Blaze has come into our rescue under our Foster to Adopt program.  She is a very active little girl who loves everyone she meets. The family giving her up was extremely upset but Blaze did not get along with the female pug in the home and some major fights were happening. Therefore we list her as good with large dogs but not good with small dogs.
She is a super little girl and will make a family very happy.
Blaze is gong to a home with marathon runners looking for a dog that can keep them company as they go.  We feel this will be a great match.  If however it doesn't work for some reason Blaze will go up for adoption.  Watch for further updates.
