7/18/06 -
Chief is now named Dempsey and has been adopted

7/14/06 - Chief is pending adoption

7/5/06 - Well, our beautiful boy Chief is getting along superbly here.  He's doing very well in his crate,
walks wonderfully on the leash and has even met our female boxer Daisy with lovely manners.
Chief has been a little nervous here but is rapidly gaining confidence and feeling like he has a spot
to fill in our home.  I can't think of a negative thing to say about him - he even takes his
treats very gently (as well as his dinner since I've been hand feeding him).  Chief seems to know sit
as a default behavior more than on command but he doesn't jump or display any negatives such as
climbing up on our couch.  We've been taking things slow with him and he appreciates it greatly.
He's nervous about anything overhead, including clotheslines, swings and birdfeeders but seems to be
slowly learning that nothing is going to hurt him here.  At least I hope that's what he's learning.
This boy has a lot more learning to do and it's going to take more than 3 days to earn his trust but I do believe we're off to a fantastic start and I can't wait to see him blossom into the boxer boy that's in there waiting to come out!

7/2/06 - Just wanted to introduce everyone to Chief.  He came to us from the local humane society and is
staying here briefly until he moves to his foster home.  He's a gorgeous reverse brindle boy - I'd
say an adolescent but we'll know more about that when he's been here a bit.  We look forward to
helping him along his way to a permanent home.
