6/15/07 - Roxy continues to do very well.  Her FTA dad is in the hospital right now, but just as soon as her FTA mom can, she will take Roxy in for her wellness exam so that she may be adopted by this family that loves her so much!

5/26/07 - Guny has a new name and boy does it fit her, Foxy Roxy is such a joy to have in our home.  She is learning her boundaries already and I am loving having her here.    We did have one accident in the house but I will take the blame for that I did not follow her cues of going to the door 2x’s before the accident.  She slept wonderfully in the crate last night with no cries, and we had tested the crate earlier when I went to the store and she was fine.  She is doing wonderful with the baby I am watching all interactions and she does very well with him.  She gives him her toys and lets him take them from her with no complaints.  All she does is goes back and takes it back from him.  That is a cute sight to watch and it is watched very closely.

 She didn’t bark much day one only two times, once when the older cat was telling her who was boss about 5 times.  On the fifth time she barked as if to say “Okay you are boss and I know that.”  She does not jump at the cats or bark at them and they have defiantly been testing her.  The second barking episode was wonderfully welcomed.  When my boyfriend, her new daddy , came home to find the new addition he was so happy and called her to him she went and barked, beaned, and licked him to say “WOO HOO I am so happy also”.

 Today we took her to a family BBQ which includes dogs there were a total of  7 dogs, 10 adults, and the baby.  She was great and loves the pool which she jumped in all by herself.  This was followed by 4 other dogs entering the water and playing.  She swims wonderfully and was good with the other dogs.  She was a typical puppy and had to be put on time out a few times after getting all worked up, running, jumping, leaping, barking, and being told to stop by some of the older dogs.  She did well with the time out, which was just separation from the other dogs onto her lead till she calmed down and was able to play again after calming down.   I received many compliments on how well behaved and beautiful she is and that is encouraging.

 She does need training and I am planning on enrolling in obedience classes soon.  We are doing work now on some commands. We have been working the last two days on her commands and with positive reinforcement (treats) we are doing well.  She is sitting and staying on command and can stay in the same spot with me walking away for a little while.  She is learning quickly and this will take time.  One day at a time and with patience she will be a wonderful addition to our family.

5/25/07 - Well we just brought “Guny” home and she seems to be doing wonderfully.  She has come into our home and seems to be at home already.  She did not even notice the cats and I brought her into the room that they were in 3 times before they told her that they were there.  She has introduced herself wonderfully to my mother’s boxer and my son.  She even kissed him it was so cute.  He wants to walk her and doesn’t understand why mom has to help since he can walk grandma’s 14 year old boxer all by himself.  She has listened quite a few times with being told to sit and stay.  She does need training but seems very receptive to positive reinforcements, especially treats.  She has not gone after any of the baby’s toys and even has left all of the toys her owner surrendered with her but is currently playing with a new chew toy I picked up yesterday.  I know we have time to make our decision she has already made her decision though.
BTW She will have a new name with our next update we are just waiting to see what name she picks out for herself.
