7/07 - Molly has been adopted

4/15/07 - Things here are still great!  Molly has learned her new name, and gotten a little too comfortable at times - sleeping on the couch when we are gone!!  But otherwise she is still well behaved.  She is still in heat, and we change her little doggie diaper every time she goes out.  We had family over last Saturday for Easter and she was wonderful with all of them.  She didn't jump, didn't beg for food, and did not bother those who had allergies and couldn't play with her.  We have left her alone several times now for extended periods and she has done well.  No accidents and no mischievous behavior remnants!  We really can't wait until she is out of heat so we can get back to some good playing.  We received her certificate to be spayed and will do that as soon as it is safe to do so.

We fully intend to adopt Molly.  She has been such a joy to have in our home in the last couple of weeks.  She is a big mush, and loves to cuddle, and she is also so well behaved.  I can't imagine having to part with her!!  I think she loves it here as much as we love having her!  Molly is a happy little girl and gets so excited to see us she gets herself into crazy contorted positions from shaking her butt so much!!!  She was so worth the wait of finding the right boxer for us!

4/7/07 - Molly continues to do great here.  We got up yesterday to find out she was in heat!  We are trying to keep a handle on it, but because of her 'figure' it is difficult to keep those little diapers on correctly and keep her and the house clean!  In all honesty, I hope it doesn't last the three weeks I read it can - it is pretty gross, but she is worth the diaper changes!!  Her behavior continues to be exceptional.  She is a total mush and loves to cuddle, give kisses, and wiggle her big but (which we believe has begun to shrink from our walks).  She loves playing in the backyard with her Kong, and is great on the leash now too and always requires a nap after any physical activity.  She loves to sleep - she goes to bed at about nine every night, and we have to push her out the door at nine in the morning!     We are having a lot of people over tomorrow for Easter dinner and I don't doubt they will all love her too!

4/1/07 - Molly is doing great :)!  We are very pleasantly surprised by her manners.  We brought her home and took her for a walk (leash training is definitely required) then she came into the house - checked everything out then just wanted to play.  We bathed her (ended up twice because she took an accidental dive into our pond!!) and while she didn't want to get in the tub, she stays patiently while being cleaned.  We had my parents and sister over and she was more than happy to hang out with them and give kisses.  We had dinner together tonight - and not once did she beg for food!!  We weren't too sure about her training in the past, but we are extremely happy to know she has the important basics down like sitting on the first try, not begging - she didn't jump on my family when they came over either!   She definitely needs a little fine tuning, but she seems to be very receptive to correction so far.  She is a very happy girl, and we feel very lucky to have been able to have her as our foster to adopt - I don't see her ever leaving us!

4/1/07 - Hatun left with her FTA family this afternoon. They will probably change her name. She really didn't respond to it anyway. She warmed up to them immediately and the feeling was mutual. After intros and going over everything with them, I leashed her up. They had a few last minute questions, so we continued to talk a few more minutes. Well, Hatun was having none of this! She went into the laundry room (back door) and laid down patiently with her head between her front paws, as if to say "alright already! Yak, yak, yak...can't you see that I'm ready to go to my forever home NOW?!" Just too cute! What a great gal and it seems like a perfect match. I look forward to updates on this one and I think Stephanie got a few nice pictures for her page. Donna

3/31/07 - Just a quick note and a big thank you to Stephanie for getting this owner surrender out of a local shelter ASAP, and to Gary and Gail for approving her for a FTA. Her name is Hatun and she will be two years old in about a week. She is so funny and so sweet. Very chunky for her age...I'm lovely calling her J.Lo for her "junk in the trunk". She has a look about her that reminds me of a true Boxer from Germany. We so often in rescue get babies with a longer muzzle and narrow chest, etc.
This girl has it going on! She gets up on her hind legs to box, but doesn't put a paw on you, so she does this circus dog dance on her hind legs with her bubble butt wagging and then sticks her tongue out at you! She will meet her FTA family tomorrow, and I have no doubt she will steal their hearts as she has mine!
