10/2/07 - Tyson is AWSOME.  He slept most of the ride home. He has been really good he gets along great with
my other dog Rudy.  He is starting to listen and loves to sleep on the bed with us.  He is great with bringing the soccer ball back and giving it up. He is a great dog. Thanks to Christine and Matt for taken care of him before he got to me. He will be spoiled and loved.

9/29/07 -
Tyson went to his forever home today. We will miss him greatly but we know that he will be loved
and cared for by his new family. Be a good boy Mr.T.

9/18/07 - Tyson is pending adoption.
Tyson continues to thrive here. We just love watching him play and interact with our dogs. He went on his own play date last week and played great with the austrailian shepard. He has been walking much better but it takes about five minutes to really get going. A gentleman along our walk always gives Tyson and our dogs a treat when we pass his house. He is always outside and will run inside to get a treat for them. Tyson is very good when meeting him and taking the treat.

He has been doing very good with the accidents. But it is something that will need to be worked on  in his forever home as well. Yesterday he did have an accident but he was playing inside with our dogs really good. I should have taken him out when he was done playing but I waited too long for him. I do think that the medication he was on helped but he needs to be taken out like a puppy would to really make sure he is fully trained. He makes it through the night and when left in his crate though.

We just love Tyson and will be sad to see him go. He is great boy that just wants to be loved and he will love you back lots.

9/7/07 - Tyson continues to do wonderful. He has had only one accident in the last 11 days. The pulling on the walks is getting better as well. I tried a pinch collar this week and he did great. We had been using a regular collar and tried a harness but he would still pull hard to get squirrels. We hope to go back to the regular collar but for now we will use that.
He went on another playdate with the austrailian shephard and our two boxers. Everything went great until we noticed that someone was bleeding. It seems that one of them must have nipped Tyson's ear and it was bleeding. Tyson was unfazed and wanted to play still. We managed to get it under control. Tyson was excellent the entire time. We didn't allow any playing the rest of the day to insure that it wouldn't start bleeding again and he was good about that as well.
We have given Tyson another bath and he was super about it. He's not scared of the tub so it makes things alot easier. We have mixed in some plain yogurt into his food and he seemed to really like that. Still not a fan of fruit, tried to give him some banana the other day and he spit it out. He does like the beef sticks now and will sit fast for one of those treats.
We just love Tyson, he is a super boxer. He just wants to be near you and sit in your lap and be petted. He loves to play in the yard, bouncing after a ball and playing with others.

9/1/07 - Tyson is doing wonderful. His energy has definitely increased in the few weeks that we have had him. He is the now the one playing first and for the longest. He loves the toys that are around the house and is always squeaking a different one.
We also have good news to report, he hasn't had an accident in five days. He still tends to go in alot of different spots outside but that is getting better as well. He was put on an antibiotic for a bacterial infection which seems to have helped. So, we hope that the accidents are a thing of the past.
Tyson also went on a playdate this week. My cousin has an australian shepard and they played very good together. My female boxer was there as well and they all just ran and ran. He is the tallest of the group and not as graceful so it is funny to watch him run. We also took him to my sisters to meet some cats. While he was very interested in them, they were not so thrilled with him. So it is hard to say whether he would be good with cats or not. With his extra energy he has become a bit more pully on walks especially with me. He isn't as bad with my husband. It also seems to depend on if he is walking with another one of our boxers. We are working on that and we are sure that he will improve.
This is a great boxer so get your applications in.

8/25/07 - Tyson remains a super sweet boy. Last weekend we put out the toys and everyone played very good
together. Tyson likes to tip the toy basket over and pull out as many as he can. He likes the chew toys the best. So far, he hasn't shown us any aggression. We can pick up his food when he is eating, we can take away toys and when we stop him from playing he settles down.

He met another little girl on our walk the other morning. Her dad asked if he could pet him because he had a boxer growing up. Tyson was all wiggles and gave the man and his daughter kisses n their hands. We were walking with my sister that morning as well. Between seeing her and then meeting the man and his daughter, Tyson was just too excited to walk good. Most days he'll start of a little pully and then settle into the walk though.

Tyson has been having some accidents in the house. It is something that we are working on. When he goes outside he goes in up to six different spots on one trip outside. So, we have been spending more time outside to make sure that he gets it all out and we are trying to take him out more often.

Tyson makes me smile and laugh every day. He'll definitely make his forever home very happy.

8/19/07 - Hi everybody, my name is Tyson sometimes called Mr.T. I asked to send in the update today so that
I could tell you all about my days here. Let's see, we get up around 6am everyday which I would prefer to sleep a little later. I'm the last one out of bed and sometimes I need to be woken up. I eat three times a day. The food I eat is Eagle Pack because that is what my foster brother and sister eat. I like it a lot and eat it right up. They have tried adding some fruit to my breakfast but I don't really like it I usually eat around it. They make us all lay down after we eat for an hour or so before we can play. I like to play with my foster sister and we probably sound like we are fighting but we are both just vocal when we play together. I usually go on a walk each day with either my foster mom or dad. I also get to play in the yard a couple times a day. Someone is always with me they never leave me outside alone. Whenever they have to leave they leave me a peanut butter kong in my crate and I get all the peanut butter out every time. The other day they gave me a  treat, a marrow bone. I really enjoyed that!! At the end of the day I like to sit on the couch with my foster mom and watch TV. The other day my foster mom didn't feel good and she went and laid down in bed. So, I went and laid with her so she wasn't alone. That night I got to sleep in the bed with everyone and that was the best. My foster mom and dad say I'm a really good boy. I would make a wonderful companion in your home. Tyson

8/15/07 - Tyson has completely settled into our routine here. The dogs eat together with no problems, he sleeps with everyone at night, and they all hang out together when we are home. He is a wonderful boxer and everyone who meets him just loves him.

Tyson met a little girl the other day and was very good with her. She was only three and he just wanted to give her kisses. He was excited to see her and he just laid down so she could pet him. He showed us his determination to find more water the other day. He could drink and drink and drink some more. So, we don't leave water down all the time. Well, he decided to jump in the shower the other day to get whatever water he could. I was just surprised he went in, the shower curtain was pulled close too. It was rather funny.

Tyson went jogging with my husband the other day and did good but he was exhausted after. I only walked him yesterday so we didn't overdue it. He pulled at the start of the walk but then settled down and walked right next to me. He does get really excited about the squirrels and would climb the tree to get them if he could.

This is truly a very loving boxer that just wants to be around you and maybe another dog. He hasn't shown us any bad behavior. We just love him, he would make a wonderful companion.

8/11/07 - Well, Tyson went to the vet yesterday afternoon. He was a really good boy in the car. We crated him on the ride to the office and he didn't whine or cry. For a second I thought maybe I hadn't put him in the car at all. When he arrived he was very excited to see the receptionist and some of the techs came out to meet him and he gave one of them a boxer hug. She has boxers so when he went to put his front feet on her shoulders she didn't mind. He was very good through out the exam. And the big news that we got was that they think he is only 2-3 YEARS OLD. So that was a shock but good news. The only concern the vet had for him was for him to gain a little weight. He's been eating good so we hope to see some more pounds on him soon.
The last few days Tyson has started to open up. He has started playing in the yard more and has become more interested in the kids that play in the neighborhood. He gets excited to see them but hasn't been close to any of the kids yet. Whenever our neighbors are out he gets excited to see them too. They always come and say hi to him and he is really good and lets them pet him. He has also been around our dogs a lot more. He gets a little nervous when they start playing together and just backs up and watches. We think he needs to learn how to play again so we'll see what happens as he becomes more adjusted to them. They have all started relaxing around each other as well and have fallen asleep next to one another, which is nice to see.
I know I keep saying this but Tyson is a very sweet boy that would make a great companion for anyone. He loves to sit in your lap and rest. And you can get him going with a game of fetch in the yard.

8/8/07 - Last night Tyson spent some more time with our dogs. He perked up and got a little playful, boxing our dogs and a little face playing. He actually barked while playing as well. We don't have any toys out when they are together yet though. We are going to wait and introduce those next week. We do have toys in the yard and Tyson doesn't even seemed interested in those. When he is outside he just wanders around and eventually lays down. We also did some training and worked on down. He knows sit very well but down he doesn't respond well too. This morning he went on walk and was very good. He did make it through the night with no accidents so maybe he was just nervous those first nights.
He seems to enjoy being outside more than anything else. He'll walk back to the door after coming in and look out as if he wants to go back outside. The rain doesn't seem to bother him either.  We haven't been able to get him to play much while outside he played with a stick in the yard the first day by himself. When you throw it he just looks at it and walks away. Inside he just wants to be close to you, he is quite the lap dog. This is the most mellow boxer I have ever been around.   Next week I hope to take him to see some of my students to see how he responds to kids. We hope to see him perk up more in the coming days to get a better idea of the home that would be right for him.

8/7/07 - Well, Tyson is becoming more excited to see us. My husband took him out this morning and when I came to see him his tail was going much faster than I have seen so far. Last night we trimmed his nails. We did it but he wasn't thrilled about it. The first night we gave him a bath outside and he was really good about that. He just stood there while we poured the water on him and washed him.  He has been sleeping at night in the crate and is quiet through the night. Although he did pee each night. During the day he is fine and hasn't gone in the house.
He's still not very playful he seems a bit tired but he has been eating really good. The peanut butter kong seems to be his favorite. The beef sticks that we use as treats for our dogs he's not a big fan of, he usually just spits them out. He has been sitting every time we come in the house and is starting to look when we say his name.
He is still very calm and loves to be petted and sit near you. When he is in his crate he is quiet and I haven't heard him bark yet. This is a very sweet boy who just needs to gain some weight and get his energy back.

8/6/07 - Tyson arrived yesterday afternoon and he's seems to be a very calm and mellow dog. He definitely
needs to gain some weight. He has slowly become more and more friendly and wants to give lots of kisses. He has been introduced to our two Boxers but we are taking it slow. In the yard he loves to play with the stick and really shows his boxer playfulness but he seems to tire out quickly. He knows how to sit and walks well on a leash. We should know more the next day or so.
