6/1/09 - It's been almost a year since we adopted Mirabelle!  She is doing great.  She is wonderful with our other dog, a Boston Terrier, and she is beyond amazing and tolerant with our almost 4 year old daughter. We cannot imagine life without her.

8/7/08 - We adopted Mirabelle on Tuesday, August 5, 2008.  Her foster family was going on vacation and was going right near our home and was generous enough to drive her to us from Long Island, which took them all day, we really appreciated that.  We could not be more happy and blessed to have Mirabelle in our home.  She has fit right in.  Her fur brother Jax gave her a little bit of a hard time the first day they were together, but no major battles.  Mirabelle just adores our 3 year old daughter, she gives her wiggles and kisses all the time.  Mirabelle has not had any accidents in the house or chewed on anything that is not hers.  She has been the perfect little girl.  We are working with her on her commands and she has quickly mastered the word off and down. She is very smart.  I cannot say enough about her and we are all in love with her and so happy that we adopted her into our lives. Thanks to everyone at BAR from Mike, Amy, Maddy, Jax and Mirabelle

8/5/08 - Mirabelle has been adopted

8/4/08 - Mirabelle is pending adoption.

7/21/08 - Mirabelle had quite a weekend.  She met a couple of new dogs and lots of new people, all of whom she loved.  And lots of kids to play ball with.  It turns out that Mirabelle loves to play ball - any kind of ball.  Soccer, football . . . and boy is she fast!  She beat out all the other dogs.  She just couldn't get enough!  So much so, that we had to hide the ball so that she would take a rest.  And while we swam in the "big" pool, she cooled off in her "dog-kiddy" pool (sort-of).  She stood next to it while I poured water over her, which she really did enjoy.  Yesterday, our youngest guest was 5 months old, and Mirabelle was perfect around him.  We also had a 3 year old boy who enjoyed petting her, which she also accepted well.
This little girl has such a personality!

7/16/08  - From the very first moment I  met this petite, sweet girl, I knew she had that special something.  Well, let me tell you, she's got it going on. . . not only does she have the looks (sorry about the lack of pictures -soon to come), she's intelligent, social and definitely knows how to cuddle.
So, let's list what she's shown us that she's good at:  great car rider, crate trained, house trained, no chewing on non-dog items, listens to all directions, great on the leash, just as good off leash in the yard, follows simple commands, calm - even in the presence of loud noises, knows that we (the people of the family) are alpha of this pack and loves to give lots of boxer kisses.
Medically, the veterinarian gave her a clean bill of health.  It was evident that she had just had been pregnant and delivered pups (as was reported by the shelter, where she was spayed).
Mirabelle, acclimated quite well into our pack.  She is a honey of a girl!  What a love!
