3/30/10 - It is with the greatest of sadness that I am making a final entry to Nala's page. Last Monday Nala lost a short and very unfair battle with liver cancer. Although our time with her was way too short I cannot imagine never having known her, and I'm thankful that we were able to be her last "stop". She was loved and cherished here as every dog should be. Nala was my girl, my shadow and I miss her every moment of every day. ,,"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.",,--Unknown,

8/09 - Nala has been adopted

7/18/09 - Yup it's true. We love Nala and we're keepin her. Nala is the sweetest, kindest and most wonderful girl. We are so happy to have her as a permanent member of our family.We will continue to foster for BAR as the number of dogs needing to be brought into rescue far outweighs the number of available foster homes. Please consider fostering or ask BAR about the foster-to-adopt program. Boxer Angels is a wonderful rescue- you won't regret becoming a BAR family. Thank you to the directors for everything. We look forward to the many BAR fosters still to come through our home.

7/16/09 - Nala is pending adoption with her foster family.

6/20/-9 - Nala was spay a little over a week ago. She is doing ok. Sweet Nala girl is now all ready for her forever home to find her If you are looking for a dog that loves to cuddle this is your gal.

6/4/09 - Nala is still with us and doing great. We have taken her many places with us To the park, to the rail trail (a walking/biking path), to the pet store to work. Nala greets all humans openly and friendly. We have been told by several folks that she has the biggest, kindest eyes, and she does. She still likes to be the "play police" as we have nicknamed her. There is to be no "ruff" housing when Nala is around, dogs and kids included. Nala and our daughter are best buds but I think that Nala would be better in a home with older children. This wonderful girl is waiting to join your family.

5/17/09 - Nala is still waiting for a family of her own. She is a total cuddle bug. She loves to curl up next to you on the couch or in bed. Nala is a bit of a shadow, she like to be where the people are. Nothing wrong with that though as she is perfect company. She does get worried when we leave, but she settles down and has never done anything destructive or messy. She is always super excited when we get home and does flips over and over. Please don't let her age fool you. Nala has plenty of energy and tons of love to give.

4/29/09 - Little Ms. Nala is doing great. She is my shadow. She goes to work with me everyday and follows me wherever I go. Even our brittany, Sophie, who normally ignores any dog, except for our boxer, thinks Nala is special. Sophie will beg Nala to play- she play bows and woofs and wacks Nala with a foot. Nala would rather just be with me though and never takes Sophie up on her offer. If you are looking for a people loving, snuggle bug then look no further this is your girl!

4/13/09 - Well........Murphy's Law holds true. Nala's spay surgery was scheduled for today and she went into heat this weekend. We will get her rescheduled in several weeks. She had a check up at the vets today anyway and she was a very good girl for the doctor. Everyone at the vet's office thought that Nala was adorable and oh so sweet.

4/9/09 - Nala's spay surgery is scheduled for Monday. All of her lab tests look great and she is ready. Nala continues to be an easy going and loveable girl. She is getting over some of her insecurities but still prefers to be where the humans are. I have taken her to several different places with me..to work, to the pet store, to the park. She is very good in the car and she does great where ever we go. Nala is a wonderful companion looking for a fantastic family.

4/3/09 - Nala is doing great here. She is still settling in so we are still getting to know who she really is. She has been too work with me everyday this week. She has met about a dozen or so different people and 2 other dogs there. She has done great with all introductions. She is still alittle bit insecure and tends to be a bit of a velcro dog. We'll see how much she "grows" out of as she gets more comfortable here. She is a friendly and cuddly little peanut. She is eating great for us and is totally house trained. She is the easiest dog that we have had so far.

3/29/09 - Nala arrived here this morning. She is an adorable and petite senior lady. She has the sweetest face and the softest fur. We took her for a walk at a nearby park and then brought our dogs over to the park to meet her. Nala has plenty of spunk for her age and did fantastic walking through the woods. She does pull some on the leash, but we will work on that. Introductions between Nala and our boxer went great. Our Brittany is not so sure though, but Nala seems to read her perfectly and has deceided to just leave the Brittany alone. Nala is very nervous and confused about why she is here, but she keeps coming to us humans for reassurance and confidence. We will see what a few days here brings, but I already have a feeling that she is going to be just fine in no time at all.
